Legendary broadcaster with a coach's knowledge of the game covering a game played by arguably the most dominating NFL team ever. It doesn't get any better than this. Thanks for the memories, John Madden. RIP!
What a magical season 1985 was for the Bears. I was 19 then and we watched all those games at my friend Brian's house, his parents didn't mind if we drank. Same for a lot of other teams, i.e., Cleveland, Seattle, and New England. The Pats had a very good looking uniform with the "Pat Patriot" on their helmet, and somehow managed to screw it up by replacing it with that Elvis-looking thing. Under the Lights Madden's a great story teller & in football his whole life, so has unlimited stories. He faced Payton nearly 10 years earlier & was a fan from Day 1, he liked to watch really good line play & he knew the city of Chicago was starving for a champion, so '85 Bears gave him a lot of material.
"When a guy starts bringing that weight down, he starts wearing more t shirts." Hilarious!
But, not wrong.

"And he's going to unload with that right arm so Johnson has to get his load ready to go load to load!" 😂😂😂 RIP John Madden you will be sorely missed 💪🏾💯
When the NFL was the NFL..
Last time I checked it’s still called the NFL
Chris Smith You know what he means..
@@MrBackoftheface it’s the “WFL” now. Woke Football League
It's amazing on how the shoulder pads are so big.
I like how Madden treats it like it’s just him and Pat watching football at home on a Sunday afternoon with goofy banter instead of a national broadcast. Hilarious.
Madden was really funny...the chemistry with Summerall was absolutely first-rate as well. Those two were a real Dream Team in the booth...
Like Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby the Brain.....amazing chemistry
