The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

@@malachirobinson7323I don’t agree Smokey is gay but saying somebody is gay is not tearing anyone down and being gay is not “new age”. Gay people been existed since the back in the days Sylvester, Jermaine stewart, Luther vandross and George Michael for an example…..just wasn’t out in the open like today.

They should place this video and say to those years from now, “This was the best of us. One of Motown’s legendary groups paying homage to a great British band.” I get numb listening to this. Smokey’s voice is a gift from God, and I’m so grateful that he has shared this with millions of people. These are artists in the truest definition of the word.

Yes, overall he was the "Sixth" Miracle after Smokey's Former Wife Claudette. He first met Smokey when Diana Ross cajoled Smokey into getting her Group then known as The Primettes an audition. He heard them and said they "looked" better than they "sounded" but he loved Marv. He asked the Girls if he could take Marv on tour with him and he'd set up an audition. They said Yes and Marv was with Smokey until the day he died and co wrote some of The Miracles Songs. He was also seen in The T.A.M.I Show. Marv was lucky he was taken care of unlike The Funk Brothers. It was so beautiful they did their Version of "Yesterday" which is now next to "My Way" written by Paul Anka the most covered son gin Music. The Beatles as you know did "their" version of "You've Really Got A Hold On Me", and alot of UK Artists covered Motown Songs. In the 1960's they did a Tribute Album called Motown Sings The Beatles.
