Midge Purce impressed me more than any other player.
She works out of pressure competently, drives toward the goal and blows by defenders, and makes good crosses TO attackers in front of goal.

@@fernandoiturburu3718 I cannot answer your question. It's weird how very talented players get ignored.
Ali Krieger was on the outside with Jill Ellis in the 2019 WC buildup.
Ellis said, "I know what I get with Krieger."
And then dropped her from many camps for 2 years.
In the end, Krieger barely played until the final and Ohara got slammed.
Krieger came on for the last half but we never saw her because...
Krieger opened a can of "shut down" and took Netherland's left attack off the pitch!
Personal dynamics can be both a positive and negative.
      Managers have to pay attention.

Purce looks great with her dribbling. Nighswonger impressed me the most. The 45 degree long distance passing into the box is very important. Both Shaw and her could do well. The left/right backs used to feel weaker, now, it appears they have the strong ones.

what you all need to understand is that these friendlies were used to test out a lot of new players who have never played at an international level. For people like Jenna Nighswonger this being her first 90 minutes and second appearance made some impressive crosses into the box. This starting lineup specifically had 7 women who had never played together before at this level. And this ended up being a great opportunity, even in the Colombia friendlies, to see emerging stars like Jayden Shaw and Mia Fishel, who have amazing chemistry. This is the new generation getting their first taste of what international playing feels like. All the stars that haven't retired are probably resting for the Olympics!!

The US women’s national team in my opinion should be ranked number two in the world. They have a lot of work to do. I will admit that. To say that they have fallen off is insane. they had a bad coach when I say bad, I mean horrible he only used the 433 and never deviated from it. if you look at the pass, the US women’s national team, ran a 442 and it worked. I think Emma Hayes is going to experiment. with the hiring of Hayes the US Soccer Federation did as they said we’re not too focused on winning the Olympics even though in Americans' minds they want to win everything but they’re looking towards the future the next World Cup. Emma Hayes is good at building a team. give it a year or so. the US will be number one again. I wouldn’t be shocked if they won the Olympics. This was the B or C team. Emma Hayes is not even coaching yet. I love to see all the comments saying that the US women’s national team fell off. That feels the US look at the history. Every time they’ve lost they came back and dominated. what makes you think that won’t happen again? I’m willing to wager any amount of money it’ll happen again then I’ll come back to these comments and say I told you so.

    • @unknownnamerealpicture
      @unknownnamerealpicture 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Matt Crocker from the US soccer Federation told him Hayes. He wants possessions style soccer. I wouldn’t mind if we ran a 352, but if you look at the past the 442 was the best for our style and we controlled the ball the majority of the time except against Spain but with the new coaching they’re going to be a possession type of style.

Don't trust the past too much, tho. Since a few years ago Europe is taking female soccer very seriously. The quality bump is huge. USA will still be there fighting for everything, of course, but it will be much harder now.

@@jal051 I agree with you it will be harder, but I’m telling you the United States. Will be back at the top very soon. To say that they can’t play technical is insane. The games you watched against China. That was our C team at best. Emma Hayes was just looking at the pool. We have the best talent in the world to pick from. there’s ever 140 to choose from and Emma Hayes is good at building a team. Matt Crocker with hiring in the Hayes. He’s looking forward to the next World Cup. Hopefully, it will be in the United States. The women’s World Cup, that is. Because the men’s World Cup is in the United States coming up. I think Mexico in the United States put a bid in. I’m pretty sure they’ll get it. I agree with you. American women are very athletic but to say that they can’t play tactical is beyond me that’s an insane statement. Let’s see how they do at the Olympics even though Emma Hayes only has a couple of months with them before the Olympics. Would love to see them run a 442. Vlako set us back four years in my opinion. he ran a 433 and that’s it. He never use substitutions. I have no idea why they didn’t hire Tony Gustavsson. He was under Jill Ellis during both World Cups. And I think it’s a mistake that they hired in Hayes. I thought they should’ve hired him. All we can do is speculate we will come back to these comments after the Olympics and the progression of the team. Are you an England fan? I’m an American and I’m an England fan I have a lot of English friends. I love the culture of going to the pub watching a game or going to the game. we are in the middle of a rebuild so we are playing newer athletes. Btw, thats not the new coach... thats the interim coach. The new coach isnt here until her season at chelsea is over... if your going to hate on the USWNT at least be aware of whats actually going on. Yikes.

Hey guitt, first of all, the top European teams were not overnight successes. It took them years to get where they are at presently. It will take time for the US to get where you want them to be. Second, China presented a stiffer defense tonight after experiencing the US game last Saturday. Give credit where it is due.

Until you get the right players with the kind of tactical talent to be able to build a cohesive offensive attack like the top European teams have as you indicated, that kind of attack is not happening with this current group of players

I think Florida State could have beaten either team. Messy affair, no finishing touch, no tight combo play. FSU laid 5 on Stanford, 2 were opened with amazing passes. Stanford had not given more than 1 goal in years

I went back several times to try to figure out if it was on or off side, and I can't tell, tbh. The one who scores isn't in shot when the pass is made, and the angle doesn't help, but I think it's likely she was behind the ball when it was passed. Keep in mind the pass is made close to the line too.

Me watching a Emma Hayes team in blue struggling to score: "GET THE BALL TO SAM KERR ALREADY!"
It's amazing how fast they are looking distincly like an Emma Hayes team. This is a testament to how much smarter women are then men; men's teams (both club and international) tend to take months to really pick up a new manager's system. This team looks so like Chelsea in its play patterns already that I kept looking for Millie Bright during Chinese attacks.

Williams, Latch and Coffey were given the chance to shine. It didn't happen. Why the coach changed the successful lineup of the second half of last game? They missed the opportunity to play together again. Shaw and Horan are reproducing functions, and Shaw is much better at that now (organizing the attack, passing the ball). The first half was simply chaotic, lacking of everything. The second half not too bad. But, as a team they are way below the quality shown by the Europeans and Japan (Did you watch Spain vs Sweden? That's how soccer is played). We should get ready for another bad Olympics, and expect the usual excuses.

Another gawd awful performance by the US. They seem to have never seen a pass that they would just as soon not make. Good luck to the new coach cause with all these bad habits, it will take years to get them to play as a team. If you look at matches from Europe this week you'll see how the US will get dismantled by them.

Emma Hayes is spot on about lack of finishing quality and imagination in the box. Shots were straight at the keeper or straight at a defender. Not too much give and go or tight passing. Lots to learn from. Hope there is time before the Olympics.

As a long time Chelsea fan, I love Emma Hayes. I'd rather see her in Pochettino's job, if I'm honest, but her teams are always organized, smart and disciplined. Given the talent pool she has to draw from, I'd be willing to lay a significant win wager for the USWNT at the 2027 WWC, even this far out. It's hard to imagine a USWNT she manages losing a game because they are outworked, out-prepared or overmatched. That leaves only luck.

You are not going to see much if any give and go with these players, passing not happening as long as the players mentality is to keep there heads down run and shoot and not look up at possible option. If Emma Hayes wants a buildup style offensive play she is going to have to rethink some of these callups if there aren't willing to learn and evolve their games and become more tacticle in their games
