  • Well this interview was a special one. I did not know much about young MGK before we met, but I left respecting how real of a person he was.

    it sucks to see that mgk must constantly defend / explain himself to people who don't even care. Colson is a true role model for anyone who is struggling to be accepted for who they are. I love that, no matter how famous Colson gets, he is always so true. He gives so much to his fans. No one comes close to his radiance and personality. He is a true legend and I sincerely hope he takes care of himself, and not just thinking about us (his fans), because health goes first. Love u.

      When he said "You're both white" when talking about him and Yelawolf, I got so annoyed. That was the dumbest thing ever. If anything he just proved how ignorant he was.

      @dschadrac1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The point you're making works in my favor. Heard one maybe two Mike Jones song and that was it. Rosenberg's been doing this for a while and is still doing it now. I'm not an idiot...he's definitely no Oprah Winfrey but he's pretty good at what he does.

    • @dschadrac1

      Laura Jackson He said that to provoke a response. There's an art to interviewing and sometimes people other than the interviewer and interviewee will have no idea what's going on.

      well the interviewers name is Peter Rosenberg and he is a vet and true og when it comes to the Hip-Hop game, but you're right he's asking dumb shit. and all these stations: Hot 97, The Breakfast Club, they always trynna spit like lessons at people in the game lol.

    • @canikickit7
      @canikickit7 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      rosenberg needs to intern someplace? bro pete's forgotten more about hip hop than you've ever known. respect a vet like he respected mgk. quit being a stan a educate yourself before you start disregarding intelligent people

  • @ugh5281
    @ugh5281 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    mgk was so misunderstood when he first started its crazy.. and i think some of that still continues to his day, maybe that's why he was never on the radar of many hip hop fans, ppl just assumed he was some crazy white kid trying to be gangsta when in reality he was just a young dude who came from a rough background, had a passion for hip hop and wanted to inspire other people with his music. even though his most popular song at the time was a club banger he always had substance in his lyrics, that's how he managed to build such a diehard fanbase in the first place.
    regardless if you like their music or not, if you're gonna interview an artist at least do a bit of research about them instead of acting like a douche and making assumptions. i know this interview is old and rosenberg ended up leaving this interview with a new respect for mgk but still, he treated him like a lil kid who has no brain and yeah ik mgk was wilding back in the day, but he was already making deep emotional tracks and keeping it real and only a few people took the time to try to understand him. well at least mgk made it, even tho i think he's still severely underrated for his talent and misunderstood, he's doing great numbers and still has loyal fans. i'm proud of him.

    Rosenberg is the realest dude on radio, I hate the fact people say he's annoying or what not, he keeps it real with himself and other people. But I came back to this interview just to say this is the day (February 6th, 2012) I became a MGK fan. This made me value him and shed the image I had of a punk rocker turned rapper.

Band member Nick Larocca claimed to have invented jazz and his music is the first known examples of it.The blues came from the British Isles. An early blues song is Greensleeves. Greensleeves dates back to the late 1500s.The first recorded rap song was recorded in 1927 by Swedish artist Evert Taube called Kinesiska Muren. I could go on.....

    Rosenberg was being fair & honest and he gave MGK some good advice I don't see why people are knocking him. If anything, K Foxx was the one sitting there with a snobby look on her face, & after everything MGK said, just told him to man up. If you're going to be angry with anyone it should be her. She seemed to have no respect for MGK, his music, or his passion for it, but Rosenberg was very engaged, admitting that he didn't know much about MGK, but gained respect for him the more they spoke.

    Say what you will about Rosenberg, this was one the best, if not the best interview MGK has ever given. Did we really need another "where'd the name MGK come from?" "Explain Lace Up" "When does the album drop?" interview? No, we've seen that one a hundred times-- *Snore.* Rosenberg pushed buttons that caused a legitimate impassioned dialogue to occur. It allowed non-fans a chance to learn why we are fans. That's as much a part of professionalism as is research. #LaceUp #EST
