I had to laugh out loud when the Basic tape was finished being pulled through and you said "All right, that's it". Wow that was fast. What a fun video. Thanks for sharing
When you tried to run it you entered 4RUN which added a new line of code that guaranteed it would get trapped in an infinite loop as soon as you hit RUN correctly. Academic since it will have been wiped when you turned everything off, but there you go!
I think its funny how that is, you are more or less using light to transmit information, and today with fiber, we have come full circle using light again.
your code does not run because you typed "4RUN" , by this you added another line "4" , you just have to type "4" without anything after that, this deletes that line and NOW type "RUN" :)
pulling paper tape looks more fun than git pull.
When you typed 4RUN by mistake, you added a first line that runs the program over again so it never gets to the PRINT statements.
Now this is what I call loading a BASIC program.

Also I never noticed that the transformer in these were so massive, it's bigger than the one in my 120W yamaha amp from around the same period

So with this card reader, you are literally "pulling" the data into the machine
glad you're back :)
Where have you been... Hope. You are. OK...
Thank you for keeping up the work, and entertain us with these gems!

Wow great work!
Is there anything like this that’s available today? Honestly, It doesn’t seem so complex to create.
You have an example in Basic language, but can this method load and execute a binary program, direct?
The BASIC language itself is a large binary program and was the first program loaded. So yes, you can load and execute a binary program like this.
I will never bemoan the ZX Spectrum screeching cassette tape loader ever
again :o)

4RUN
OK? RUN
LOL, you know what you did there, right?
Where can someone find paper tapes?
Can be connected on IEEE 488 ?
Only work on Altair?
what terminal program are you using?
That is not a terminal program, it is actually a terminal - a Wyse 30+
