  • The Bukovel ski resort is the biggest ski resort in Ukraine - and one of the most popular! We went during one of the peak ski seasons in Ukraine, the week between New Year and Orthodox Christmas (January 7) to see how it compared to our other favorite Ukrainian ski resorts, Dragobrat and Slavske. With 19 lifts on 5 mountains, 68 ski runs, including blue red and black runs, and 68 km of slope, there’s definitely plenty to keep ski enthusiasts happy! And the Bukovel ski resort is also a great place to learn! I did a two hour lesson, and by the end of it I was going down a blue slope! It does live up to its reputation as Ukraine’s most expensive ski resort, especially during this peak week when they bring prices up to their highest. However, it is easy to navigate, even if you don’t speak Ukrainian, and there’s plenty to do to keep skiers and non-skiers alike happy. In this video I show you what to do at Bukovel if you ski (or if you don’t!) in winter. Have any questions about visiting Bukovel, Ukraine? Drop them in the comments below, and I’ll do my best to answer them!

    Have you been to (or heard of) Bukovel? If you've been to lots of Ukrainian ski resorts, where does it rank for you?

      I ski in Bukovel since 2013. This is my favorite place for skiing. A lot of different slopes, hotels and restaurants. And i go again to the Bukovel 20. February 2022!

      I think definitely if you're a skier it's the most fun resort in Ukraine! So many slopes! We might go on one more ski trip this winter, and I'm lobbying for Slavske. I like that it's a bit quieter (and cheaper!) than Bukovel. But it's nice that there are a couple different options, with different vibes, in Ukraine!

      Yeah, it's possible to go to the Slavs'ke. You're right, there is cheaper than in Bukovel. I've never been in Slavske, but i still have an idea to go there.
      It is one drawback in Slavs'ke: not everywhere are the snow cannons. Most slopes depend from natural snow.

      That's really true! Last year when we went to Slavske, the snow melted the weekend before our trip. I remember anxiously checking the live webcams each day. We got lucky -- the temperature dropped and it snowed again the day before we arrived -- but it is a risk to go to the smaller resorts!

    For me Bukovel is the best resort for skiing in Ukraine.

      For skiing, you're probably right -- there are just so many slopes, and it's got great variety! But I have to say for the *vibe* ;) I might choose one of the other resorts.

      @@moonshineandminibuses9051 Let me guess, - Dragobrat?!🙂

      It's kind of a tie between Dragobrat and Slavske! I love the whole 'getting to Dragobrat' journey and the little village there, but I *really love* the babushki serving shashlik and nalivka at the mountains in Slavske. What about you, @Vladiadis Vlog?

      @@moonshineandminibuses9051 I'm no expert. Was at Dragobrat couple times.... in the summer;-)). Awesome place for freestyle snowboarding, I heard. Bukovel is much more developed than Drag.

      @@Cola_Dulz I've heard Dragobrat is nice in the summer! A friend recommended it for some hiking last summer, but we ran out of time. Summer or winter, I hope to get back to Dragobrat some time soon.)

    Hi, is it possible to get the contact from Tanya the ski teacher? Nice video. Thank you!

    • @moonshineandminibuses9051
      @moonshineandminibuses9051  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your kind words! I was put with Tanya by the ski school, so I don't have her direct contact info. I went to the ski school by lift 2 and just asked for an English speaking instructor. I think she said she'd been working at Bukovel for 6 years, so if you go in with "Tanya, English speaking instructor, 6+ years" hopefully you'll be able to find her! Or just show them that clip of the video. ;)
