I'll be upfront with my bias here, and admit that I adore Jimmy and Sea. So, I won't cast any illusions that it's not one of the reasons why I like this show. But, outside of that, I can honestly say that the setup/premise for this story is really good. It's not groundbreaking, not without precedent, but the execution so far has been great. I have high hopes for this one. It may just be one of the best BLs this year... So long as they don't drop the ball halfway through.

Wow, the way we started off heavy in this episode, but it turned out really good. It's also different, and seeing how we see a story of someone being blind. I can relate to this in a way. Plus, I enjoy seeing more JimmySea because their chemistry hits. Day likes Mhok's bad boy energy, he said, "I'm interested. Let's hire him." I also like how Mama named her kids Day and Night 😂 Overall, This is a great start, and I'm intrigued to see more.
I am disabled myself so this one hits very close to home. Especially about helping and family. On the one hand, it`s very good that you have people who can and are willing to help you anytime. But on the other hand, their help is a constant reminder to you that you can`t do it yourself. Day wants to show others that he is not absolutely helpless, and the scene in the end with the library card was refreshing to him. Mhok gave him the attitude he does not receive from others. I am very excited for this and am eagerly waiting for the continuation! ❤

I’m a person who is visually impaired.
I knew I would be able to relate Day but I wasnt prepared how much Day’s story would hit home for me.
Day’s struggle with accepting his disability and adapting to his new life, grieving the person he was/life he had and the person/future he had imagined for himself , having to deal with society where ableism is very much present and people infantilizing/patronizing him ect, learning to navigate this world that was not build for us in mind/environments that arent accommodating and places that arent accessible to people with disabilities.
When your condition is something that keeps deteriorating and you can’t do anything to stop it, having to give up things and some of your independence it is diffecult to say the least, so I do not blame Day for feeling the way his is at the moment.
I would love to see Day get to a point where he has been able to get back his confidence and independence, for him to have accepted his disability & adapted to his life now and advocating for himself but most importantly for him to get to a point that he is happy.
Day’s journey is going to be an emotional for me at least.
I live the little details in dialogue/scenes and just in the acting.
Getting to see the pov from different sides was interesting to me like Day’s, Day’s family, Mhok ect.
Seeing Day learning things and how Mhok was learning as well.
Both of them understanding each other and respecting/treating each other like human being/regular people.
That seems to be important to both of them at least if we go by what Mhok said about how despite him not having the ankle monitor people are still being able to see it and people not giving him a chance & with Day people only seeing his disability and not treating him like a human being ect.
My favourite scenes have to be MhokDay interview scene and elevator scene, NightDay fight and the little prince scene.
I have hope for this series to give good and accurate representation of people with a disability/disabilities and MhokDay as an interabled couple which hasnt as far as I know in a BL series before.
I hope we get to see also how MhokDays develops from caregiver/client relationship to a to romantic relationship cause there is a difference there though.
The little prince scene was beautiful. Mhok as the fox and Day the little prince. The portrayal was wonderful. The scene was a beautiful but natural way of mirroring the start of MhokDay’s relationship. I also like the changed that had been made to the scene, It felt more like a intimate moment between the two, both felt understood and seen. The moment were Mhok asked Day to come and get his card from him by himself. To me it felt like the way Mhok was treating/talking to Day, he was telling Day ”I see/consider you as a regular person just like me”. While Day was telling Mhok ”I’ll give you a chance like everyone else/like no one else has”. It was like both were telling each other that both of them have to have courage to give each other and themselves a chance.

I don't know why, but I just love that there is a Blake Shelton shirt in the first scene at the garage. lol. Also love how the intersperse the inciting incidents for both our main characters. That was nicely done.
Wanna shout out to GMM for using their actors' backgrounds on this one. Sea is a previous aspiring national player and Mark is a former national player. I know they gonna have some badminton rivalry.
Happy to see Mork be friends with his ex. That is so rare in Asian drama - in Asia in general - but, personally, my two closest friends are exes from 15 and 25 years ago.
Love the push and pull of Mork and Day. I really love the way that Mork simultaneously challenges and takes care of Day. Watch how he makes Day come to him at the end, but he also takes a step to the right, reducing Day's likelihood of tripping over the table.
Culture note - elevators do have braille in Japan unless they are really, really old. I expect that is slowly going to become standard, since there is not like a massive extra cost to add it.
Obviously, I can not even imagine what it is like to live with disability. Most of my experience in the periphery of disability has been working 2 Paralympics. But I always think that it must be so difficult if you were a really active able-bodied person and then one of your senses or your mobility deteriorated. Poor Day. And poor Night as well. Him trying to take care of Day with his bad attitude reminds me of trying to take care of a family member who is going senile. Night may turn out to not have his brother's best interests at heart, but he has at least helped him navigate the world.
Not my usual BL wheelhouse, but I usually take all the GMM BL rides and I am always here for representation.

When they were interviewing those who had applied for the caregiver role. I cannot be the only one who felt exactly like Day. Day was not having any of it. I love his personality, him being sassy and using sarcasm ect. And when Day just said to end the interviews and implied how he felt like puking,ä.. I was like.. Sir I feel the same cause I feel like i’m going to have a headache if I’ll see one more person who applied to be a caregiver but is not fit to be one😂

How I’m feeling after the first episode is an emotional wreck when I finished the first episode and I’m an emotional wreck again right now. 😭💔 I knew since I first saw the mock trailer, I was gonna be in my feelings and I sure am…especially this was my most anticipated series for 2023 🥹💖.
As someone with a disability, I still don’t know how it’s like to be in Mork’s shoes. I still know what it’s like to be looked at as incapable or “not normal” because how there is much ableism in this world. How that can really lower your self esteem, and I can see that with Day. Because of how people look at him weird and how his mom and Night treat him. Being born with a disability or it happening later in life to you, both experiences are valid and just as challenging for the person. Even with Day, him being able to see but then that being stripped away from him the next 💔 it can be traumatic and very difficult to adjust. Especially the grieving process of that person, which is where Day is at of having everything crumble before him but also not being seen as everyone else. Day’s mom and Night’s heart is in the right place, but they don’t need to baby him or talk down to him. He’s capable ❤️ It is okay for asking help, because I do all the time. However, I can understand how that can make one feel like a burden which Day is not but it didn’t help Night saying that to him 💔 I love how Mork sees him as person and isn’t afraid to bicker or be blunt with him 😂 Mork will challenge him and show Day that he can do things, Mork will believe in him I just know it 💗 Just like he did with making Day get his library card on his own 🥹 There will be times I’m sure Mork will help Day because he does have limitations but that’s not gonna stop him from living his life ❤️🩹 I’m already emotionally attached to the characters and I’m already dreading when this series ends 😭
Some people were commenting that Day's brother might be responsible for the accident and also that maybe the one who donates the corneas might be Mohk
I really hope not but we'll have to wait and see

I AM HAPPY WITH THE DIRECTOR IS DOING THIS SERIES AND THE ACTORS AS WELL DOING IT THE WAY IT SHOULD BE I LOVE THAT I HAVE VISION PROBLEMS MYSELF AND I TOOK CARE OF SOMEONE WHO WHEN BLIND AND ONE DAY I COULD VERY WELL GO BLIND MYSELF SO I UNDERSTAND THAT SIDE OF IT AND FEEL FOR MARK CAUSE IT IS HARD TO TAKE CARE OF SOMEONE LIKE THAT YOU HAVE TO FIND A BALANCE IT ALL OF IT A CAREGIVER IS NOT BAD AS LONG AS YOU ARE GOOD WITH ME CAUSE YOU CAN LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE OF SOMEONE THE MAIN THING IS THE PERSON YOU ARE WITH HAS A BOND WITH YOU THEN YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF THEM BETTER CAUSE THEY TRUST YOU AND ALSO YOU HAVE TO FIND A BALANCE WITH THEM AND IN LIFE SO THEY CAN DO AS MUCH AS THEY WANT TO IT HAS TO BE DONE OR FINE AND NEW WAY OF DOING THINGS IS ALL IT JUST WERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY JUST HAVE TO FIGURE IT OUT LOVE THIS SERIES GOING TO BREAK ME BUT IT IS FINE I AM GOING TO STAY WITH IT NO MATTER WHAT AND LOVE THIS DIRECTOR AS WELL HE DOES A GREAT JOB PLUS IT IS GIVING ME BAD BUDDY VIBE WHICH I LIKE AND I ENJOY JIMMY AND SEA TOGETHER THEY MAKE A GOOD SHIP SINCE I AM A SHIPPER AND I DO LOVE MY SHIPS PERIOD

I HOPE SHACKY DOES MORE LIVES ON EPISODES IN THE SERIES SO THOSE WHO WANT TO TALK TO HIM CAN AND ANYBODY ELSE NOTHING WRONG WITH TALKING TO EACH OTHER AND STAY IN TOUCH LIKE GAMEBOYS EVERY BODY HAS WHO THEY ENJOY WATCHING ONLINE SO WE CAN TALK TO THEM AS WELL WE ENJOY CHATTING ON TOO AS WELL AND KNOW THAT WE CAN REACH OUT IN THE COMMENT AND THEY DON'T MIND THAT AT ALL
I do have to say though that the way his family is treating him and other people isnt really helping Day to adapt being visually impaired and his life now.
I can see and understand Day’s family’s pov as well of course.
I think that they do care but I do see them being overprotective, limiting Day from doing things or even trying to do things himself, not trusting him to make decisions for himself, helping him without even asking if he need it or offering him help and by doing so not respecting him ect.
Of course there a times when he needs help but not all the time and with everything.
Day doesnt want pity or to be helped all the time, being treated like his less capable or that he is cannot be trusted to make decisions for himself and more than anything else he doesnt need people patronizing him or infantilizing him. Day needs someone to treat him like a human being, a regular person ect. Someone who sees him Day and not just the disability cause that is not all of him. Mhok making his entrance the way he did to the interview and speaking to Day the way he did… made an impression on Day. Mhok was raw, honest and straightforward. Mhok saw that Day is capable and he doesnt have to be careful around him. He wasnt treating Day like he was broken/fragile or pitying him. Most importantly Mhok WASNT patronizing/infantilizing a person like Day who is visually impaired/ a person with a disability. Mhok was treating him like everyone else, a HUMAN BEING.

I was wondering if anyone who has read the book could tell me whether Day will actually lose his sight in the end or has an operation where he might be able to see again? I know this is a huge spoiler but I would like to know.
Also I read somewhere that maybe Day's eyesight will only be temporary gone and it will come back again.... Could it be true or is it only a rumour..?
