I was in Atlanta during Miss Universe 2019, at the lobby of the Marriott Atlanta Hotel standing in line to get in to the prelims. There was a big crowd of Thai fans watching the live stream of Miss Supranational 2019, and when their girl won they all screamed hysterically and jumped with joy and waved their Thai flags! I was so happy for them! :)
So Indonesia have Puteri Indonesia pagent and they will have 3 winners that the winners will represent Indonesia in Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Supranational. Once you're joining Puteri Indonesia either you place or not, you can't join Puteri Indonesia pagent anymore because it's once in a life opurtunity. So, yes sierra, you right. Thailand winning Miss International and Miss Supranational was just like the Philippines back in 2013 when Mutya Datul and Bea Santiago won their respective pageants. I think Yana Haenisch would do well at Miss Universe if she gets more training on Q&A and interview. My country (Namibia) is not focussed enough on those things and it puts our girls at a disadvantage.
I can see that Namibians are also getting deep into pageants. I agree with that ,she can do better. These girls Namibia sends to the universe from the local ain't good enough and they atleast need so serious training before even taking part in the national competition.
It's so true that Miss Supranational is so unpredictable, especially during q&a, they've changed some things from previous years, but still have a long way to go in terms of their judgement, like they have to take things more seriously and know that pageant fans are not dumb. To become a recognised international pageant, they have to earn that respect by Actually being more transparent and rational with the results.
It appears Supranational judges did what Miss Universe judges used to do, based their final rankings on their overall impression rather relying on just the final question. Peru may have nail the Q&A but the judges still preferred Thailand and Namibia.

The TOP 3 of Putri Indonesia will represent Indonesia in Miss Universe (Winner), Miss International (1st RU), and Miss Supranational (2nd RU). And the most important thing is; you can join the local selection as much as you want, but for the national competition, YPI only give you one chance, whether you win, placed, or even unplaced.

Puteri Indonesia is the organization who had 3 licences of Miss universe, Miss iternational, and Miss supranational. The winner of puteri Indonesia goes to miss universe which is frederika, 1st runner up to international and 2nd runner up to supranational. All the contestants who are selected in puteri Indonesia 39 young girls they cannot compete in the next year after. So Jessica can't go and compete to miss universe because she is 2nd runner up in puteri Indonesia. The whole experience of puteri Indonesia is once in the life time. If you already represented your province / state in puteri Indonesia either you you placed or not you can't try for next year. Isn't like miss USA, miss canada, miss Philippines, as long as you not get the crown still have a change to comeback next year. That's why we never seen former Indonesian beauty queen winner competed in international pageant twice.

It is the same with Binibini back then. Now that MUP is a different pageant from Binibini, previos Binibini titleholders (except those who competed at MU) now have a shot at competing at MU

I agree with you. The pageant has potential to do better if they change the format of announcements and choreography. The Mister Supranational pageant is way better then the Miss Supranational pageant.
India was gorgeous. She should compete at Miss Universe. Philippines is a great speaker. Her uniqueness and gift of gab would be appreciated more at Miss Universe. Indonesia was lovely. I think she is better at Miss International but I dont think it is possible. Peru should go to Miss Universe. She should have been 1st runner-up. Thailand deserves her crown. She is really beautiful.
