I design all of my own items. I’ve never “bought” or “borrowed” patterns from elsewhere. It’s All pen and paper. I enjoy design as much as leather work.

Size and cost are the two disadvantages of shell. Being the rear hip / rump/ ass of a horse, the max size of a shell might be the size of a large toilet seat lid.

Regarding your stitching irons, it looks like they are the Japanese style (diamond point) rather than European, is that correct? with 1mm Tiger, what is the spacing on the holes? Maybe 4mm? THANKS!
Yes. Diamond teeth. Zero taper (French has taper). On this project, 5mm. I also use 3mm, 4, 5.4, and 6. Depending on project.
