Highly recommend rethinking the financial advisor! Even a 1% fee can cost you 39% of your returns in a 50 year time period. I got this from the book "I will teach you to be rich" by Ramit Sethi. This is the best financial book I've read because he breaks it down in an understandable way & with clear action steps listed for each week. Most people can manage their finances on their own. I was super overwhelmed before reading that book & now I'm about to max out my Roth IRA! Love all of your advice & videos! I watch them every morning while I eat my breakfast :)
Was literally about to comment this! You should really re think your financial advisor, it’s best to pay per hour than the 1% fee! I also read the book, it’s a really good book.
LOVE this video!! Aligns with where I am in my life. 100% agree with this comment. Ramit really helps clarify how having a % can affect you long run. A fixed hourly rate instead for sure.

about staying at a job for 2+ years... different for everyone. i've been working at mine for almost 3 and my income increases gradually along with respectable responsibilities and better connection with my colleagues, seniors, even customers. my loyalty to my company comes out of a place of ownership and future vision, not just money... which is why i'm gonna make sure i take that company to higher places before i consider switching jobs
It’s not about switching companies, that can be achieved by switching roles inside one company. The general corporate principle is to offer at least +10% for the next role you get. So the rule of 2/3 years still applies. Hight time to change the position 😉
when she said that she went through the first 2 years of university without eating fruits, i literally felt it. sometimes i used skip meals just because im a student and dont have alot of money. but i i finally had my first part time job interview last week and i got the job. im so happy.

girl. the timing. omg i have been worrying and wondering HOW to manifest or attract money into my life and shift my perspective about money. thank you so much for this video queen ❤❤
Mistake #2 is so important! Charlie Munger has a quote on this: «Diversification may preserve wealth, but concentration builds wealth.» Don’t do too many things at the same time in the beginning. Focus all your energy on one thing, whether that be your 9-5, your own business etc and become extremely good at it. Creating a side hustle, investing in assets etc can wait a bit. Investing in an index fund that you can automate in order to make use of compounding can be a smart option though.
Out of the context, I have been putting a picture of mic in my monthly vision board for 3 months and I've got to participate in debates and presentations (and win in every one of them) and also host many programs at school and I am currently visualizing hosting a grand event that our school is going to organize very soon. Thanks Tam for this visualizing tip.
I think taking a monthly payment loan is not something to "be scared of" or "avoid" because life is tricky and sometimes you need something expensive immediately to make more money (it takes money to make money) but you should take it as short period as possible and pay it off as quickly as possible. people shouldn't promote this mentality that you gotta use 100% all finances you have and unless you cant pay 3 times for it, you cant afford it. With that mentality, we shouldnt pay bank loans for our houses or monthly car lease or any time of "monthly" subscription (including your bank card what takes monthly payment out of your account). it's the mentality and purpose behind it. not everyone are as rich to pay 1000 euros laptop or phone (and no, sometimes you cant get by with some 300 euro laptop). so this mentality is definitely something i dont want to agree with.
you at the best !! “Stop seeing money as a destination.. because when you do that, you start putting money on a pedestal. Money isn’t on the pedestal, you are on the pedestal!!!” 🥲❤️

Tam, you are THE best TH-camr in Self improvement genre I actually look upto. I literally ask myself "what would Tam Kaur or Lorelai Glimore would do" in this situation. You inspire me SO much to build myself in literally every sphere of my life, be it, personality, emotional Intelligence, financial etc. I love you from the core of my heart. Also, I just loved how you took that tik toks about you, other creators would've been so offended but loved how you appreciated their hustle. I bet God will bless you with even more abundance, because not only you are growing, you are also helping other people, especially young adults grow as well. ❤
Great video. The only thing I’d mention that some personal finance experts like Ramit Sethi (I will teach you to be rich book author and a host of Netflix show) would disagree with the idea of hiring a financial advisor who takes a % of your investment portfolio - because overtime it will cost you a lot of money. He says it’s better to hire a financial advisor who charges a fee.
Hey Tam! You’re like an inspiration to me, you’ve taught me so many things just like a big sister. I love you from the bottom of my heart. But I have one issue in which I need your advice, could you please make a video about how to deal with selfish people? I am a student and I have been so much nicer to everyone around me and helped them a lot in their academics and personally considered them as my friend. But they have betrayed me after my little mistake which was a miscommunication. They ghosted me and now I feel so much terrible like I have forgiven them for their mistakes but they clearly stopped talking to me. I want advice on how to move on and show them their place, like they have been mean to me but I need advice how to deal with these toxic people in my life. Please help me
Hi tam didi love your videos.❤ Just a suggestion - if u could put those information posters that came in between towards the side so we can see u talk while simultaneously reading the information. Seeing u establishing that personal connection if that makes sense.
Thank you so much for your help. I learned a ton of things from you. I have already read rich Dad and poor dad, the psychology of money, and think and grow rich books, but i don't read Girls that invest book, so i am going to read the book. I am preparing for my dream job and i want to get a job.

Today, i feel exhausted cuz i have been working nonstop for the whole week. When I see your new video, it already makes me happy!!!I love you from the bottom of my heart,Tam. You literally changed my life.🧡
As a financial advisor make no mistake you do pay the financial advisor. You pay them out of the money you invest and so that is your money. Look for upfront fees even though they may look like they are higher. In the long run they will be lower money amounts. And for those who say that a financial advisor cost a lot of money let me tell you that risk is free guarantees cost money. Time is also money. So you are paying for reduced risk and time savings.
Timing is damm . I was just wondering how i will be so rich , then i just randomly open the TH-cam and i just show How To Enter In Your Rich Girl era by my Queen ❤

This was so educating especially as someone about to graduate uni and I’m a bit scared about money management when I do get work. Thank you so much Tam. I loved how you explained not throwing all your money away to sinking funds ❤️❤️
GIRLLLL TAM I KID U NOT THIS IS THE ERA IM IN RN LIKE THE MAIN FOCUS FOR ME RN IS SETTING MYSELF UP FOR SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE AND STARTING NOW AND GAINING KNOWLEDGE ON FINANCE AND I WANT TO START MAKING MONEY AS WHILE IM STILL YOUNG SO THIS CAME AT AN INSANE TIMING!!!!! LOVE U
Hmm I disagree about staying in a company because you go up in a company that way (if U pick the right company/job) My husband started at the bottom now he is a second boss. Eventually I see when his Boss retires he will b doing his job. Noone else is qualified/can do it. (Believe me they tried lol) Staying in a job helps you climb the ladder but also you get more vacation time (he gets 3 weeks) , more freedom with your hours, insurance (basically my husband makes his own hours most days) You just got to know if you will b able to go up in a company(cause you dont want to waste your time in a company that you will not) The things mentioned mean more when you are older and not everyone can create their own company/youtube channel, etc. So feel the company out if a two years you see no way of going up then by all means go else where but staying where u have a chance to rise up means you can b a boss . Unless you want to b your own boss then do that.. know what you want
At the end of 2025 I will have bought a piece of land and started building my dream cottage whilst uplifting and giving back to the community. Wealthy life to you all 🍃💚
You can talk about not taking up a job when you come from a privileged background but not many people can actually do it when their bills depend on them. Plus you can’t focus fully on your side hustle because you are working, it’s a vicious cycle
I really love your videos, and this one as well! I’m girl from Ukraine, as u people know or not we have a war. Well, a lot of unpredictable staff that happening. I realised that I can’t make mindless financial decisions, I must manage it. I am into financial topics lately, and your video is great! Girls, please, make your rich era as soon as possible with this advices. I did a great thing today, I finally closed my debt I had for a year. I was working 6 months for this paying 20% of my incomes for make my debt less. And I really happy that I did it! We all can do our financial well-being era, I believe in everyone of you girls. We can do this! Wish u got some inspiration from this video and can start from today🌹
Just when I was about to start embarking on my financial freedom journey Tam posts this video. Thank you so much for the useful tips Tam 🤗💞💞 you're amazing and I love you 💓
I think klarna and PayPal pay in 3 can be useful, when used with the right mindset. Klarna allowed me to buy an amazing winter jacket that I've now worn for 4 years and its still in an amazing shape, and there is no way I could pay £250 upfront. Same with shoes, I slowly replaced all my shoes with amazing vivobarefoot over last 3 years, the first pair still going strong. I got a high quality microphone and ring light for my TH-cam channel etc. So I think if used strategically is an amazing solution ☺️ but anyway, amazing video as always Tam 🧡
Thank you so much Tam. I'm really happy that you do make these wonderful contents to help us. You've really helped with the understanding of doing less to achieve more and also with having an abundant mindset. May God continue to bless you and grow😊.
was just telling someone how i miss seeing your face in my ‘recommended’ and this video popped up 🥹 your videos have really helped me get my life together, and i don’t say that about any other influencer. ❤️ sending love from Vegas
Hi Tam not sure if you would reply to this but i would like to know were you ever like just stuck, Ik to change your life its on us to do the work but somehow i being an emotional being feel drained mostly and due to which the energy that i should spend to ry to build the life i want i spend it in procastination. I dont ever wanna settle but it just sometimes feel too much task to get out of that comfort zone. You are the only content creator that litreally motivates me because looking at you and your videos it doesnt seem IMPOSSIBLE. it seems a realistic life and realistic goals to achieve :)
I just wanted to thank you, After watching your video i started manifesting for my desired University, which i was dreaming of, and now I'm fortunate to say that i got this❤

I just bought yesterday rich dad poor dad.. This video came at the perfect time 🤩 i'm about to graduate from uni and growing up in a poor family, i definitely need this kind of videos. Thanks Tam ❤
You have a lot of good advice and insight to offer. Thank you for the video. However one caution - paying a financial advisor a percentage even if it's 1% means you're losing a lot of money - more than you realize - and you should switch to a fee based advisor.

You can talk about not taking up a job when you come from a privileged background but not many people can actually do it when their bills depend on them.
Plus you can’t focus fully on your side hustle because you are working, it’s a vicious cycle
Loved this video!! Please share more on financial literacy as you go along!
Honestly, the BEST TH-camr ever
I really love your videos, and this one as well!

Just when I was about to start embarking on my financial freedom journey Tam posts this video. Thank you so much for the useful tips Tam 🤗💞💞 you're amazing and I love you 💓
queen i love that you’re here for us while on holiday but take some time to rest!! 👏
I am in the airbnb space and did a mentorship ! So glad I did

How does one find a financial advisor
Rich dad poor dad says pay yourself first!
You have a lot of good advice and insight to offer. Thank you for the video. However one caution - paying a financial advisor a percentage even if it's 1% means you're losing a lot of money - more than you realize - and you should switch to a fee based advisor.
