Before joining S&P Global in 2022, Mark spent 12.5 years at IBM including three years in BigFix endpoint management product marketing, four years as a QRadar SIEM product manager, and six years leading security sales enablement across IBM’s $1Bn threat management product family. He also spent 4 years as an industry analyst at Enterprise Management Associates (EMA).
In his time at S&P, Mark has delivered go-to-market projects and contributed to S&P’s 451 Research team in areas including SIEM, secure access service edge (SASE), network security, private key infrastructures (PKIs), AI, continuous security validation, and threat modeling.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver with an emphasis on electronics engineering technology and is an ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He also jokes that he holds an “MBA from the school of entrepreneurial hard knocks” gained in his five years as an equity partner in a Boulder, Colorado-based software firm.
    Matthew Warner
    CTO and Co-founder, Blumira
Matt founded Blumira after searching in vain for a SIEM that would meet the needs of small to midsize businesses (SMB). He found existing threat detection and response platforms to be overly complex, expensive, and difficult to maintain. Matt developed the concept that would become Blumira when he was Director of Security Services at NetWorks Group, a managed security services provider (MSSP) with a focus on compliance and ethical hacking.
Matt brings nearly two decades of IT and cybersecurity experience to his leadership position, as well as a passion for cybersecurity education, especially for SMBs. Through webinars, articles, podcasts, and conference sessions, Matthew shares actionable advice that under-resourced and time-strapped IT teams can really use.
Matt also has a passion for cybersecurity threat research. In late 2021, he led a team at Blumira that discovered an additional attack vector in the Log4j vulnerability, offering proactive solutions to help affected entities recover and protect themselves quickly. The 2022 Globee Cybersecurity Global Excellence Awards recognized Matthew as CTO of the Year for his leadership and innovative problem-solving, his credible research on Log4j vulnerabilities, and contributions to Blumira’s 2022 State of Threat Detection and Response Report.
Matthew’s dedication to Blumira is as long-lasting as the hedgehog tattoo etched on his leg.
