    Looked as though cylinder #1 EGT's were crazy hot. But also could be a faulty EGT Probe. But there at the end during the simulation cylinders 1,2,7,8 were damn hot as well. Great sounding motor can't wait to see it in action.

      the hp figure is deceiving, with a setup like this its more the torque and how that torque curve is shaped. I cant imagine him trying to drive it without baking tyres at speed seeing as its setup for the more normal sized tyres in the rear. doesn't matter when it's that fun!

    8.4 litre engine for anyone who isn't using this dated, illogical americanised system.

    • @dylanhartz8473
      @dylanhartz8473 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      cubic inches is more accurate than liters, there are 6.102 cubes for every 0.1 liters, its a slightly more accurate measurement, for example a 454 is a 7.44 liter (called 7.4) and a 455 is a 7.46 liter, but they round it up to 7.5L... using that unit of measurement you would lead someone to believe a 455 is a whole tenth of a liter larger than a 454 but in reality its about .02 liters larger

      because CID is faster and easier to say, if i say 454 inch, everyone knows what that is and its 5 syllables, i could also exclude the inch and it would be 4 syllables, if i say 7.44 liter its 7 syllables and i will almost always have to include liter to make it understandable, doesn't matter what you wanna call it, i'm just making it faster and easier to say

    1400HP is totally pointless when most of the burnout boys are far to gutless to even open the throttle. Furthermore, the cars are almost always geared far too low to be able to use much power. Plus they use poxy little narrow tyres, which you can spin in top gear with about 300HP.
    Most of the competitors spend their time bashing the limiter with about 1/10 throttle - just watch the butterflies on the injector hat, and see if you can detect them ever opening to WOT.

    • @aussiebevo103
      @aussiebevo103 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Coops I remember peter grey with the Camaro that thing never once opened the butterflies yet would turn to 5,500rpm or so. But the drag strip, that’s when you see the butterflies wide open

    • @whatyareckon5985
      @whatyareckon5985 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is called blower surge. What it actually is though is the cycling between rich and lean conditions or hunting at idle. As the engine leans out the idle increases and similarly as it then enriches the idles slows, this happens quickly obviously and repeatedly. It can be tuned out, but people like it.

      there are smaller v8s made for drag racing that put out 3500hp, this engine is nowhere near its limits, it could run an 18 degree valve angle head, a 14-71 blower, a leaner air fuel ratio, and run well into 9000 rpm making about 2700hp with about 2k ft lbs

    • @monroe7403
      @monroe7403 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a reason the fastest drag cars in the world use V8's only. As Dyllidan ret said above me, this engine has plenty more potential. The fact is, the more displacement, the more power potential an engine has. And a turbo or two and all the tubing takes up just as much room as a V8 and a blower, and imo blowers are FAR more badass than turbos.

    • @gv8483
      @gv8483 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah a 2j at 80 pounds of boost this is 16 pound and a small blower for the size of engine

  • @dylnbxtr
    @dylnbxtr 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    No wonder everyone uses turbos and nitrous on their drag cars.... Such little amount of PSI from a roots blower that massive. Imagine what you'd be getting with a good set of matched turbos.
    And that blower whine would get annoying as shit..... the whine on idle is alright. But when it's at WOT, it's not even a nice impressive whine. Just, whack!

    • @scootbmx01
      @scootbmx01 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that blower isnt that big compared to that size engine.... a 12/71 or 14/71 would be the next upgrade.
