Linda's voice is so pure and perfect. The notes she hits in this song are amazing. There are a lot of great female singers out there, but Linda has pitch perfection. I've tried singing along to it (not a good idea I know) but my dog leaves the room until I've finished! It doesn't matter what she sings, every song is beautiful.
I like listen to this song over and over again Linda Ronstadt is the only one who could have ever sung the song nobody could ever sing that song like her!!!!!
Gorgeous voice that traveled far beyond what passed for popular music. When she sang this live with the last verse in Spanish - this teenage tough guy just melted.
+Jitka H. Sorry to hear about this loss but you know we all get the opportunity to meet up there in a better place, eventually. The world will end one day.
Warm, clear, emotional and honest. Linda Ronstadt was a very rare songbird. No matter the style she laid it down with beauty and power. NO ONE else like her. And some folks still make up stories about her.
Love her voice on this song. It truly shows her range. One of the most unique things about Linda's talent was that most of the hit songs she sang by other artists, she sang so uniquely that she made them her own. If you sing and ever sang her songs you could sing her versions a capella and everyone would know the song.
One of the greatest of all time. Singer from my generation. Can't think of anyone who didn't love her voice. Can't remember anyone who didnt have a major crush on her. Still in love with her.
Fud 123 you are so correct. Many happy memories driving with my mama and kittle brother blaring this song in her car in southern California! Thanks Linda! My moms neighbor is semi related to her. Cool things!
December 1984: Lost one night leaving a party in Horry County, SC. I ended up in a bayou community before I reversed my route to get back to Myrtle Beach, where I lived. This song was playing that night, and I don't know where I was, but that fishing village will always be Blue Bayou to me.
I h*d (uh) VERY b*d experience bumping into the SIDE of (uh) pick-up truck *round this time - I w*s ONLY (uh) sophomore (?) in high school, but my WINTER v*c*tion w*s RUINED
This song is so nostalgic that it transport you to the corner of the world that makes you forget all the troubles behind. Awesome Linda for your very beautiful rendition.
Everyone of us has a hidden Blue Bayou, that special place where you can be without pretenses, without any put on just a pure and simple enjoyment with friends and love ones. Lucky for those that has already found it, a sense of adventure for those that haven't ! Ain't that a life's journey? awesome feeling! Thanks Linda for making us felt that way.
Linda and that voice of hers are without a doubt two of the most gorgeous things to hit us during the second half of the 20th century. Smooth, warm, powerful and heartbreaking. Others strain to sing what Ronstadt seemed to voice naturally and effortlessly.
True. Not a false or forced note. No Bullcrap singing for a TV judge. When Linda sang it live with the last verse in Spanish that was an emotional high.
She is one of my favorite all time artists. She's so humble and real. This is also one of my favorite songs that she performs. Thanks so much for sharing.
Im definitely no Linda Ronstadt, but i sing this song every night to my disabled daughter and her smile just lights up!! So blessed to have a mother who made me listen to the older music in the 90s.
My beautiful mother loved this Lady and this was one of the 1st lps she bought for my little mini Stereo never forget what wonderful memories this wonderful song holds for me. Love her Love my mum xx
What an amazingly beautiful voice. Saw her sing it live with the last verse in Spanish -Linda mesmerized the crowd. No show boating just great honesty.
I grew up listening to Linda. My mom had a big, LP, album. She'd always play these songs when I'd go to visit her, along with so many many others. I miss all those old pops and, scratches and, reading the album backs until they were memorized. These songs bring me such melancholy of my youth and, a childhood long gone. Linda touched so many with her voice. Bless her for her gift.
Back in the early 70s I went to a small fair and won my 1st 45album of Blue Bayou same cover and ever since then she made my world go around, every time I hear her it reminds me of that day your gorgeous Linda. I am of German heritage and Ive been in Mexico. Love you.... I will always carry a part of you with me .
My default memory of this song is staying at my grandparents' house in this small Michigan village (so small if you blinked your eye going through it, you'd miss kind of small) called Walhalla, surrounded by lakes and rivers and campgrounds galore. There was one lake in particularly called Emerson Lake, where a tavern and club was... and everyone went there, locals and tourists alike. I was just a kid then, but whenever this song plays, it reminds me of that time and then my grandmother who LOVED Linda's voice and would sing harmonies on this song when it played. :-)
I put a quarter in the jukebox to play this song at Julius' Bar in The Village, then turned around and met Dino Yamankonis -- What a wonderful weekend that followed in 1976. God Bless you, Dino. Love - Pat (the macho guy who loved to sing Judy Garland standards). Wish I could hold your hand once more while walking to Loew's Theater to see "Star Wars". Happy New Year! 1/2020
Linda Ronstadt wraps that gorgeous strong flexible wet voice around this song and all is well with this cruel world. The only versions of Blue Bayou that matter are Linda's especially live.
This CD is one of the greatest. All of her songs are just amazing. For me Blue Bayou has my heart. The rest of her songs are fabulous. The Spanish songs by her are fabulous. Especially to us los mexicanos.
Jeffery Alvarez Oh, I'll bet. I love singing in other languages. I love singing along to the song by Lionel Ritchie entitled, "Hello," which is sung by a Spanish guy and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Amazing, awesome, one of the greatest singers ever. her voice is so melodious, so sweet, enthralling...and we all agree what a wonderful song we can listen, when you know, how shall I put it....when the need arises...
My mom introduced me to Linda Ronstadt and several other amazing, soulful, rock singers of the era. Wish more people my age could appreciate the music of this time.
This is one of the most pure voices that ever hit Earth, and one of my favorite songs by the late Great Roy Orbinson. Many have recorded this song but Lindas version just does something for the soul and spirit of a person born in the deep south. Wonderful !
while in Louisiana I was on a swamp boat taking a trip through the bayou and the driver was playing this song..... ever since then I hear this song and it takes me back there
I'm in the middle of watching 'Man O n Fire' and this was on the soundtrack. A wonderful version of a Roy Orbison classic! Long live the internet. BCNU...
They played this at my grandfathers funeral as they carried out his casket. I love this song every time listen it if feels like he's still here. They also played Just One Look as him singing to my grandma cause thats all it took from him to realize she was the one. They dated for 3 weeks and then got married, They were married for 41 years. He died at 78. RIP grandpa Tom aka my weasel, i love you
I restored a family members 1945 made Halicrafters model S-40 receiver ham radio when I bought it about two years ago and It picks up stations all over the world. Canada, France, Italy, and South America are the ones I have heard so far. BUT the first song out of this old Receiver in god knows how many years was Blue Bayou. And for some reason it makes it all the more special to me!
Blue Bayou..."If I Could Only See That Familiar Sunrise Through Sleepy Eyes How Happy I'd Be". Great lyrics, with wonderful arrangements. Fabulous singer and performer Linda is, and the band too. Well Done!!! :-)

So funny ya all say that the voice brought you here. This is one of the most beautiful songs you could ever listen too. I actually fell in love with it many years ago when I heard it on the movie. Linda's voice is so pure and perfect. The notes she hits in this song are amazing. There are a lot of great female singers out there, but Linda has pitch perfection. Roy Orbison
Gorgeous voice that traveled far beyond what passed for popular music. When she sang this live with the last verse in Spanish - this teenage tough guy just melted.
The fact that she sang Mexican mariachi songs that are popular in México proves she was a great artist. Her talent broke our borders.
My mum's favourite song . She passed away last weekend and I'm listening this song all the time ..
+Jitka H. So sorry for your loss, may she rest in peace..
+Jitka H. Sorry to hear about this loss but you know we all get the opportunity to meet up there in a better place, eventually. The world will end one day.
I'm sorry for your loss. I know what you're feeling right now 😭
Me. ......too
sorry for ur loss , i'm about to lose her too ... my Dad passed away 2 years ago , and Now she is going to marry!
The long last note she sings is one of the most beautiful sounds you can hear this side of heaven.
Warm, clear, emotional and honest. Linda Ronstadt was a very rare songbird. No matter the style she laid it down with beauty and power. NO ONE else like her. And some folks still make up stories about her.
One of the best female vocalists ever. She has such a beautiful voice.
Powerful and Tender. Those two rarely go together nowadays. Ronstadt was super at combining those sentiments. Great singer.
Lauderdale Jones Powerful, tender and clear as a bell.
Warmth, power and a dreamy longing. Linda enhanced almost everything she wrapped that voice around. She was the real deal.
haven't heard a better voice since. Pure, honey, outrageous range. thank you Linda
Pure, clear vocals. No pretentious bs - Linda was always emotionally on point. Naturally gorgeous voice.
One of the greatest singing voices of all time. Certainly no one today that can compare.
Beyonce or Kianna, Rianna whatever her name is, are kindergartners compared to this voice
Okay ctually someone sang this on the voice (2 ppl, but the first one was better), and she was pretty damn comparable you could watch it
NO ONE to compare her with
Fud 123 you are so correct. Many happy memories driving with my mama and kittle brother blaring this song in her car in southern California! Thanks Linda! My moms neighbor is semi related to her. Cool things!
Fud 123 for certain
A warm, gorgeous, thick and powerful voice. One of the 20th century's greatest instruments.
Yes, a very special pure vocalist.
A vocal masterpiece. LInda we love you for sharing that voice. Some are still just catching on to real natural singing.
December 1984: Lost one night leaving a party in Horry County, SC. I ended up in a bayou community before I reversed my route to get back to Myrtle Beach, where I lived. This song was playing that night, and I don't know where I was, but that fishing village will always be Blue Bayou to me.

Lucky for those that has already found it, a sense of adventure for those that haven't ! Ain't that a life's journey? awesome feeling! Thanks Linda for making us felt that way.
Yes there is! I was just thinking that!

True. Not a false or forced note. No Bullcrap singing for a TV judge. When Linda sang it live with the last verse in Spanish that was an emotional high.
I can't believe 200+ people dislike this beautiful song. I'm a old school hip-hop DJ and this song still give me chills of joys! This song is gold!💛✨
It gives me chills too, every time
Linda, vocally warmer, stronger and more beautiful than anybody else. The Vinyl Queen for sure but hearing her Live was unforgettable.
Stunning. Linda Ronstadt on a vocal planet of her own.

Linda owned and operated a fine set of pipes. Clear and longing. Some of the best concert vocals I ever heard.
Love this song by Linda Ronstadt AND Roy Orbison. A great ballad takes one back to beautiful places and memories!
This is one of the most pure voices that ever hit Earth, and one of my favorite songs by the late Great Roy Orbinson. Many have recorded this song but Lindas version just does something for the soul and spirit of a person born in the deep south. Wonderful !

Great Gal, Great Voice.
This song reminds me of my mum. Beautiful voice Linda
This kept me in the car last week when I really needed to be somewhere. Just incredible when in the confines of the vw (bbc radio 2)
Love the three part harmony with the harmonies sung under the melody, Very cool and often hard for singers to sing lower harmonies.
I'm in the middle of watching 'Man O n Fire' and this was on the soundtrack. A wonderful version of a Roy Orbison classic! Long live the internet. BCNU...
Not only has she a great voice but also, she was really beautiful.
