Yeah, Winwin's traditional dance training and Ten's gymnastics background really showing through. I'm more impressed and curious about Yangyang and Hendery though, I've never heard them talk about why they're this flexible. Yangyang's said he used to do trampoline for hours every day as a kid but I don't think I have remotely heard Hendery say anything about his background that could explain this.
@@aesaphyr some people may be just naturally flexible. Taeyong is flexible too, for example, and he has zero dancing or training background (although ballet dancer while doing analysis on his dancing assumed he has ). But in general people can just be flexible. Considering them both entered SM as teenagers, when they still can save that flexibility, I'm not very surprised.
@@depressed_firefly Ballet dancer's analysis actually highlighted that Taeyong came to SME as a blank state with no previous dance experience, and how that worked in his favour since he didn't have to unlearn previous habits. Taeyong is hypermobile, and ballet dancer's videos highlighted that too. Lucas is also hypermobile, you can see it in some videos especially with his hands - SuperM did a game in Mtopia where that was really visible.
Hendery and Yangyang however don't seem to have hypermobility, and Hendery on the trampoline showed the flexibility you can develop as opposed to the type you innately have (i.e. looser tendons instead of looser joints). Getting your splits isn't a difficult thing to do at their age, for sure, it's just a bit unusual and makes me wonder how it came about.

Same here. Yibo was like: Wow, that's impressive 👏 I'm not as flexible as these guys, but I'm able to do the spilts and cartwheels without hurting myself thanks to my dance background in ballet.

Yeah, when the magic show thing came out I was shocked too. I'm a dancer so I know good core strength when I see one. WinWin is way stronger than people realise - being brought up in a dance so technically demanding really does make your body feel like steel sometimes ha ha
I did see Lucas grab onto the platform a little I think, but I’m still sure the majority of the lift was because of WinWin. I am _amazed_

WayV Flexibility Ranking
1. Ten & Winwin (in terms of simple contortion, Ten is simply too hard to beat, however when it comes to more operational flexibility or skills, Winwin takes the cake. Ten surely wins in stretching but Winwin's body has been trained to withstand a lot of strain and twisting. What I'm probably describing for Winwin is closer to agility than flexibility but I think it should be addressed that he can do a lot of what Ten can do and even apply it in different skills because he's trained for it, even if it might come with less strain for Ten)
2. Yangyang (I don't know how much stretching they did before that one video but doing a split so casually really only comes from doing it multiple times before)
3. Hendery (we don't see it often but just by the looks of how he's able to hold a split and how straight his back is tells me that he's probably trained)
4. Xiaojun & (4.5) Lucas (have not actually seen them be as flexible as the others but I don't think they'd be too far behind. They also work out and that requires a lot of stretching to not strain joints which can also lead to more flexibility but said stretching does not necessarily mean they can pull off stunts like the ones listed before. Oh and Xiaojun gets a few points higher than Lucas for what he pulled on NCT 2.0)
5. Kun (he's an old man. I'm so sorry. Kun, but I'm sure your joints are fine)
