Exactly what I was looking for! It was interesting to hear about the vertical mic position picking up warm chest vibrations, now I definitely need to buy a stand for the Yeti I just picked up :D

    Wonderful tips!
The last one surprised me a lot since I personally always very aware of the input. perhaps it should be the first tip 😁

Good video Its the only one about real audio engineering for ASMR I could find.
One thing you could have mentioned that I always see done wrong is microphone arrangement. Everyone has their two microphones angled inwards and at more than shoulders width.
Its just wrong, left and right localisation switches around for close and for far away sounds. Microphones have to be positioned somewhat like your ears and point outwards(or at least straight ahead).

I record lecture and learning content. I am leaning toward a shotgun mic as it is more plug-and-play and financially friendly. Two aspects I struggle with and hear on your recording as well are mouth sounds (e.g., opening/closing) and breath sounds (e.g., taking a breath in before continuing to speak). What is the best way to remedy these issues? Thanks for any help! And yes, why don't you have more subscribers?! I found your video very helpful! :-)

If you point the mic to the chest (like you did) Will it pickup more keyboard noises?
