Yeah season 1 midori is a little bit annoying but his character progresses immensely in season 2 and beyond. Also he doesn't cry that much. It always baffles me when people say he cries all the time.

Izuku has little development other than in fighting, which is expected since he supposedly has so much battle IQ. Sure, he got less quirky or nerdy since then; that's expected. I'd be surprised if he was still blushing 24/7 near Ochako. What has he learned and fixed, or realized anything? When Lady Nagant exploded, did he ever question how cruel the world was or how messed up the system was? Or even after Aoyama (or, I don't know, laser traitor guy) was announced, he was still buddy-buddy. I just don't understand how a character like that is interesting. A hero with no mind of his own, he's never aware of the consequences of actions or anything other than his fingers and arms breaking. He legit needed Mirio to calm him down after finding out Bakugo was dead. He needed Mirio to stop him from chasing Overhaul because Mirio knows if he did, then he'd die. Sure, Deku believes in everyone and knows villains need saving too, but where was that energy with Muscular? Why didn't he find a crying little child inside Muscular and help him like he did with Shigaraki, knowing Shiggy killed the majority of the city, including Bakugo? You can say he was in his emo phase so he didn't care, but that makes no sense, that emo phase lasted 2 episodes anyways and was easily fixed by a sorry ass apology by bakugo and taking a shower.

Not gonna lie, I didn't like Midoriya at first either. I think it's because his big eyes made his expressions more dramatic. But unlike the rest of the show that I feel got cornier as it progressed, I think Deku got better.

Hatin on Deku in 2024 is not it, bruh. You were hatin on mha as a whole in one of your last videos too sayin that when it came out everybody was havin fun hatin on it. Nah, when it came out everybody was gassing it up crazy from seasons like 1-2 all over TH-cam. A few people were making videos at the time calling it bad in the title, but then you watched the video and it was just them saying stuff about it was disappointing because it wasn’t up to this new higher standard that mha was supposedly at by breaking the mold of a lot of shonen tropes (not to say it doesn’t follow a lot of tropes as well). It wasn’t until later when the show became so popular that it reached a cringy general audience, and from that point it became trendy to hate on it. Shows crazy high popularity gradually leveled out over the years of seasons 3-4 even though all might vs all for one, red riot unbreakable, and infinite 100% Deku were all trending quite a lot when they came out. So eventually when the popularity leveled out to being less popular, the cringe vocal minority seemed even more vocal since general people weren’t talking about the show as much as they were when it exploded on the scene. Season 5 came out and was ass cuz of studio interference with the pacing and animation quality, so that made people talk about it less. And only now in season 6 has then show regained an actual audience that talks about the series and not just people meme’ing on the show for its fandom. This entire time the anime hasn’t been doing poorly, and the manga has been doing quite well, but it just became a trend to shit on it. If you still blindly hatin on mha or deku, you a lil bitch. Not really, I’m just trollin.

Midoriya's cool. His crying ends when he's in control but I feel he should've been working on being a hero before he met All Might instead it being a dream.
Fuck Bakugo though. I finished the series and, while he got better, his entire character feels pointless and Deku forgiving him feels unearned. From the switch-up when they were kids, telling Deku to go kill himself, threatening to kill Midoriya, trying to get Midoriya expelled, attempting to kill Deku multiple times, and being uncooperative and unappreciative. It's at *the end of the story* does he then realize he's been a dick to this guy that's been nothing but kind and fair to him throughout the series. His tears only make me angrier. He keeps forgetting the only reason he's still alive is because of Deku. He's just a regular kid in a loving two-parent household with a strict mom who smacks him upside the head for being rude but he acts like this?
Yeah, he has his moments and his powers are cool but his character is just a net negative and Todoroki would've been a better fit for this kinda guy (and he was for the first couple of seasons). I was so happy too when he almost died and laughed my ass off now that he's essentially crippled.
Same with Endeavor. Fuck him too. Bro should be doing his redemption arc in prison for messing up his family and making a murder-loving sociopath out of Dabi.

Can't force you to like/hate a character but 3 things I like about Near:
1) He knows the name of the series is Death Note, not "Light Yagami" or "Kira". He got the priorities straight.
2) His no-nonsense attitude with how he drops formalities or will ignore anything entirely irrelevant like Light as soon as Ryuk and the Death Note are in the room.
3) His counterplay to not just Uno reverse people, but invalidate their belief. My favorite moment of this was when he dropped all that money from the sky after Light doxxed him and said these are my loyal supporters who ride for me and side with my justice. After seeing how everyone dropped what they were doing, he gave the middle finger of "Your justice is fake, you are no God, and your followers only bandwagon for clout... AND I just walked out the front door into the crowd to escape. (It's like the reverse of when Bradley charged headfirst into Central in FMAB saying "What king would sneak backdoor into his own castle.)

I know it’s unrelated but not even sakura’s uselessness that makes me dislike her, it’s just her stupid face. That’s it. I can’t take her seriously at all and for some reason we’re supposed to take her seriously. I don’t think the Sakura vs Ino fight is that bad but I really hate that it ended in a tie. For a fight between rivals to end in a tie, they have to be good rivals and kishimoto was seriously overestimating the rivalry between sakura and ino. Naruto and sasuke have such tragic backstories and most of the entire series is naruto and sasuke fighting their demons to move on from their past and right in the middle of this emotionally heavy story, they put these two incredibly shallow, vapid “mean girls” and we’re supposed to actually take this seriously? The fact that kishimoto made these two such shallow caricatures of typical “popular” American teenage girls really evokes a sexist attitude towards women, that kishimoto has been accused of having many times. He made Sakura into a more prominent and serious character in shippuden but it really feels forced because I’m sure kishimoto was pressured to do write a compelling female character just so the story can appeal to a female demographic but he totally with sakura. I mean, what was sakura and ino’s rivalry about? It was about a boy. I actually like their backstory and ino came off as a really good friend to sakura. It’s actually very sweet but their rivalry just feels like typical high school drama and it has absolutely nothing to do with anything in the story. Ino ends up being an even more unlikable sakura, just like Sai is an unlikable version of sasuke.
If kishimoto wanted a character that would relate with the female audience, he could’ve focused on hinata. Her backstory was amazing compared to Sakura and ino’s. Hinata got the stereotype of the shy, quiet, nerdy girl while Sakura fit the stereotype of the mean popular girl. Hell, they could’ve made a rivalry between hinata and Sakura/ino and it would’ve actually been something relatable to girls who have felt like they aren’t cool or popular. Hinata wanting to be recognized by her dad while also hating that she’s weaker than neji and being mistreated by him, made her fight with neji one of the best fights in the chunin exams. It was a part of the story that we needed more of (plus more neji in general). Also I would’ve loved the story to focus more on temari because she’s such a cool female character and after part 1, she barely did anything.
Forget Ino, I would’ve liked to see Sakura be rivals with Kabuto. Like just him continuing to taunt & mock her over & over again at the end of part 1 & then her almost punching the dog shit out of him in part 2 like he underestimated her so much, plus their both really powerful Medical Nin. It would’ve been cool to see them learn something from each other medical ninjutsu wise (similar to Bakugou-deli’s rivalry in Season 5 I think after all the all might stuff, their rivalry grows more into a helping build each other up like a “have you gotten stronger?” And stuff. I would’ve liked to see something like that between Sakura & Kabuto, but much more malicious like Kabuto continuously grossly underestimating Sakura’s potential & her trying to prove herself to him. I feel like that would’ve been a pretty goated rivalry, I mean with the way Shippuden was being written in the beginning it felt like that’s what Kishimoto was setting up some kind of rivalry between Sakura & Kabuto, but just like it never came to fruition. Kishimoto had a lot of ideas that he started in part 1 but didn’t continue in part 2, but this rivalry would’ve been really good for part 2 especially showcasing Sakura’s growth as a kunoichi but also as a medical nin and proving herself plenty capable against someone as powerful as Kabuto
