Try mounting a ratchet mechanism between the handle and blade portion. This would alow it to easily "thread" into a target and create lots of damage when ripped out.

On the Kevlar/Roast test, the knife went through it so easily because Kevlar was meant to stop a high velocity projectile and to protect the user from being cut... however it becomes almost completely useless when a knife or other pointy weapons start parting the fibers

I've noticed that, anything slightly large enough to have mass behind it, the riot shields will deflect to a threshold. After that threshold it breaks apart.
Bullets rarely meet this mass threshold and instead opt for speed for their penetration, so the shield stays intact. (until you hit those huge m10 slugs)

Bulletproof vests are designed for bullets not the needle point sharpness of knives and similar things. Most bullet tips have dull rounded heads for the most transfer of energy. Kevlar is still a FABRIC so it will cut. DO NOT think you're superman just because you have a vest.

Agreed... "gimmicky" is exactly what I was thinking. Before you got close enough to me to even THINK about using it on me, I'd have shot you like 5x. I can see why they banned it in WW1 and WW2, but those were different wars than are fought in today's day & age. Trench warfare... useful weapon to have. Insurgent'type, street-to-street, building-to-building type fighting... pretty useless.

Actually, that knife would be terrible as a combat dagger. Moreover, the hollow handle, while cute for the tacticool crowd, makes the blade end unbalanced and robs you of striking power and control. The grip itself being cylindrical further decreases control and makes handling more difficult, not to mention gives you no clue of where your blade edge is through tactile sensation. Furthermore those silly studs on the grip surface are likely to be at best uncomfortable and at worst a liability combined with the smooth underlying surface making it hard to hang on to.
Testing on meat is not rigorous. Butchered meat actually isn't much like living tissue. It's not as dense as live muscle, it does not reactively contract; there is no blood pressure to contribute resistance and density. Wet newspapers or tatami mats on a wooden dowel makes for about as good a flesh analogue as meat does. People like Skallagrim and Thegn Thrand have developped much more accurate testing mediums for blades.
Testing on meat is just a waste of food; people do it for the spectacle when trying to sell you stuff (like the infamous Cold Steel video ads, or this one), or they do it because they simply don't know better.

Just a note: bullet 'proof' kevlar isn't actually designed to stop knives. It's actually notoriously bad at stopping them. I'd love to see it tested against a stab proof vest, like the ones worn by police in the UK.

A knife going through Kevlar is a rather common occurrence given the fact knives can easily wedge themselves through the threads, Kevlar is bullet-resistant and slash-resistant, stab resistance and spike resistance is a whole other story as stabbing it a thin concentration of force rather than the wide force a bullet gives, and needles and spikes can easily wedge between the fibers of Kevlar and flak, as can knives.

@ConManliness most bullets are many many times the width of a knife point or something like an ice pick. They have done some experiments with “liquid body armor” that is basically Kevlar soaked in a non Newtonian fluid that is more resistant to stabs and punctures but it’s not practical.
I don't think Kevlar is made for knife like impact, try using it on those "knife proof" shirts
