I was an atheists for the most part until I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon and I know its scripture. This started a domino effect that lead me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ...thank you, thank you , thank you

Me too : ). But I did go to or visit some "Churches" but didn't really believe any of them. Sadly, now nominal Christians are dishonestly trying to lead true LDS Christians back to atheism. Crazy world. Guess people don't change though, they did the same thing 2000 years ago, and even used the Bible to try to prove Jesus wasn't the Christ.

Joe peaceman You know I always thought I was to smart for my own good ( not bragging at all) but I studied the history of the early church and how the meeting at Nicaea organize the church for more political reasons ( the books of the bible are 250-500 years written after Christ died, that's older then the united states for perspective ) and power over man then anything to do with the Church that Christ established. How they adopted pagan rituals and ideations to bring them into the fold or have power over them. For this reason I never felt that established religions made much sense, and the vast majority uses fear as a motivational tool ( follow us or you will burn in eternal hell! ...those guys are wicket and they will burn in hell...bla bla bla) Anyway, I looked into every single Christian church and also Buddhism( which I still find fascinating) but nothing fit I always had questions that simply could not be answered UNTIL one day I stumbled into the missionaries teaching a friend of mine and the rest is history :) Don't get me wrong I love the KJV Bible LOVE -IT!! but I also know that the BOM is the word of god as well the two walk hand in hand. Joe I received my witness and I am converted which to me is stronger than man's logical arguments can ever be ...it's awesome to be a Member of the "Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints".

Zack M Hi Zack, I didn't notice your reply until just now (I've been too busy to watch my favorite youtube vids)), but i really appreciate your kindness and testimony. I agree that the Creeds were written to try to placate men. There was a lot of contention over the nature of Christ. So many Christians don't realize that conforming to science (Science dictated that God must be one of Plato's 'Forms" and was the "one one", without body, parts, etc.) led to a lot of divisions and apostasy and even helped create Islam etc. (the companion-less God who could not die etc.). The original Church taught many of the things that some mainstream Christians mock us for today, there is a good book called "Restoring the ancient Church" I think it's by Bickmore?? Anyway, awesome book. Of course, more has been discovered since then.....keep the faith my friend. :). Oh, btw, I had a friend who joined the Church btu was raised Buddhist. His wife forced him to stop going to Church so he practiced Buddhism and read LDS books while she didn't know.....eventually she became interested and they both recently went to the Temple.

Zach M: What are you smokin? I get that this was written with thick sarcasm...or I hope it was.....but....Suffice to say the new testament was written in the early 60's and some even believe Mark was written in the 50's of the common era. I'm not saying this is proof one way or another for Christ..although i do unapologetically believe in Him....but...don't make false claims about the new testament before even doing a simple google search.

I was so moved by this video.. I'd just gotten to where Nephi built the ship they would travel in.. Finding this video.. Well I believe God led me to this..
I'm a sculptor... I've done primarily bronzes of Native Americans... I'm moved to someday do one of father Lehi.. and Nephi together... The thought of including Lehi, just occurred to me.. Again, could it be the spirit moving me?

I am a sunday school teacher and love teaching the gospel of Christ. This Video I love ten times more than any BofM Video, because that is real...that shows how real life was 600 B.C. in the Arabian Desert...and my respect and gratitude for Lehi and his family grew a lot for what they have done of and that they kept a record of all their ups and downs and that they showed us that all is possible with Christ. I love being a member of this wonderful church. There is no way, no way, and in any knowledge let alone how Joseph Smith would have known all these places and names without directing revelation from Heavenly Father himself during the BOM translations. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Restoration. I know that the Book Of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for taking the time to load this Documentary and please load some more. #ibelongtothechurchofjesuschrist

I was never a Mormon but as a descendent of Mormon pioneers I have known several. To those who bash the Mormon faith I have to ask what your response be if someone says the same insulting things about your faith that you do about the Mormons. To the Mormons I say that while I do not share your faith I feel strongly that its important that you be allowed to worship Christ in accordance with your beliefs and ignore the trolls that say otherwise.

There's no archeological evidence of the book of Mormon. 0 evidence because it's all made up by Joseph Smith. The book of Abraham from the papyri is not what Joseph Smith translated it to be. It is about the resurrection of the pagan god, Osiris. These books are nowhere near to be true. Joseph Smith practiced witchcraft and was a 33 degree Freemason. Lds temple rituals are inspired from Freemason. Freemason worships Satan. Connect the dots.

Those of us who oppose the teachings/doctrines etc of the Mormon church and awoken to the truth must remember to never hold any hatred against any active Mormon members. The Church is a very different entity to the members themselves. We pray for their awakening through love, that those Mormons who still believe and practice what they've been taught may come to know the true and everlasting Jesus Christ.

As a member of the LDS Church I can promise you and all people that we do worship the true and everlasting Jesus Christ. The same Jesus born of Mary, the same Jesus who lived a perfect mortal life, the same Jesus who performed many miracles, the same Jesus who organized His Christian Church and ordained Apostles and Prophets, the same Jesus who performed the Atonement for us, the same Jesus who was crucified and was buried and rose again on the third day, a glorified resurrected being. The same Jesus who stands at the head of His Church today. What Jesus do you worship?

By following other doctrines you are walking in darkness. Deuteronomy 18:20-22 says if a man speaks for God, his prophecies will come to pass. Your founder, Joseph Smith fails God’s test. Isaiah 46:9-10 says “9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” God is spirit and always has been. He knows the end from the beginning and all things in between. Isaiah 40:8 says “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Trust in God and His everlasting word.

A huge amount of information that is found in multiple books and scholarly articles, has been gathered here and made visually inviting. It shows how authentic is the picture of the Old World painted in the Book of Mormon, things which no one in America or Europe knew in 1830 when the Book of Mormon was published.

As we examine the Book of Mormon we must evaluate the people’s living conditions with that of the Indians. What type of PLANTS does the book mention? Were these PLANTS in America at that time? What ANIMALS are said to be in the area? Did the Indians have the knowledge of METAL working as mentioned in the Book of Mormon? What was their WRITTEN LANGUAGE? Their mode of TRAVEL? How do these claims compare with archeology?
    The Book of Mormon mentions:
    • wheat (Mosiah 9:9)
    • horses (1 Nephi 18:25)
    • chariots (Alma 18:9-11; 20:6; 3 Nephi 3:22)
    • cows (Enos 21)
    • elephants (Ether 9:19)
    • silk (Alma 1:29; 4:6; Ether 9:17)
    • linen (Mosiah 10:5; Helaman 6:13; Ether 10:24)
    • money-pieces of gold and silver (Alma 11:3-20)
    • steel (2 Nephi 5:15; Jarom 1:8; Ether 7:9)
None of these items were here before the Spaniards. None. NONE !!

    Part 1
Jesus predicted about the false teachers and false prophets, even those who would call themselves Christ.
The apostles even battled confusion in the first congregations, and Paul wrote under God's inspiration "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ ...But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed."
Confusion is by demons' teachings (1 Tim 4:1).

    Part 4 of 4
When following the true gospel, Jesus will manifest himself to you, as he did to me.
    It’s the honest truth.
The fulness of the gospel has been preserved by God, as what we have the New Testament proved that I belong to God, by keeping his commandments, no other extra doctrine beyond it, and by that I was received by the only true and living God who manifested himself to me.
God showed me that I am saved by the gospel, by following it (Rom 1:16), the same goes for every soul.

Eric Hawkins, a spokesman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said the Mormon Church defines marriage as being between a man and woman.
That's fine with Holly Reynolds, a lifelong Mormon who lives in Sacramento. At 35, she's been married for 13 years and is the mother of four children.

    1 Nephi
1830: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of God.
Now: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son God. 11:18
1830: Behold, the Lamb of God, yea, even the Eternal Father!
Now: Behold, the Lamb of God, yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father! 11:21
1830: yea, the everlasting God was judged of the world
Now: yea, the Son of the everlasting God was judged of the world 11:32
1830: and Jesus Christ, which is the Lamb of God
Now: and the Messiah, which is the Lamb of God 12:18
(This was changed to avoid contradicting 2 Nephi 10:3, which first reveals to Nephi the name of Christ.)
1830: ...the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father...
Now: ...the Lamb of God is the son of the Eternal Father... 13:40
1830: ...and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord...
Now: ...are come forth out of the waters of Judah, or out of the waters of baptism, who swear by the name of the Lord...20:1
    2 Nephi
First appearance of the word "Christ" in the modern BoM. "Christ" appeared earlier (1 Nephi 12:18) in the 1 830 edition, but was changed to "Messiah" to avoid contradicting this verse. 10:3
    1830: seraphims
    Now: seraphim
The 1830 edition copied the KJV error in the plural of seraph. 16:2, 6
    1830: Wo me!
Now: Wo is unto me! 16:5
The omitted italicized word "is" was later corrected.
    1830: Here I; send me.
Now: Here I am; send me. 16:8
The omitted italicized word "am" was later corrected.
1830: ...they shall be a white and delightsome people...
Now: ...they shall be a pure and delightsome people.... 30:6
"White" was changed to "delightsome" to try to soften the obvious racism of this prophecy.
    Mosiah
1830 version: "...that king Benjamin had a gift from God..."
Now: "...that king Mosiah had a gift from God..." 21:28
Since King Benjamin was dead at the time, this change was needed to avoid the obvious error.
    Alma
1830: ... the Son of the only begotten of the Father ...
Now: ... the only begotten of the Father ... 5:48
1830: cherubims (as in the King James Version)
Now: cherubim 12:21 (Cheribims is the incorrect plural of cherub.)
On page 546 of the first edition of the Book of Mormon we read as follows:
"... for this cause did king Benjamin keep them ... "
In the 1964 edition, Ether 4:1, we read:
"... for this cause did king Mosiah keep them ... "
A change has been made in the First Book of Nephi, evidently in an attempt to strengthen the Mormon claim that baptism was practiced by the people in the Old Testament. This verse is taken from Isaiah 48, and appears as follows in the 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon:
"Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord ... " (Book of Mormon, 1830 edition, page 52)
In modern editions it reads as follows:
"Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, or out of the waters of baptism, who swear by the name of the Lord ... " (Book of Mormon, 1964 edition, 1 Nephi 20:1)
It is interesting to note that even the signed statement by the eight witnesses to the Book of Mormon has been altered. In the 1830 edition (last page) it read:
"... that Joseph Smith, Jr. the Author and Proprietor of this work, has shewn unto us the plates ... "
In the 1964 edition it reads:
"... That Joseph Smith, Jun., the Translator of this work, has shown unto us the plates ... "
In the first edition, page 87, this statement appears:
"... the mean man boweth down ..."
In the 1964 edition (2 Nephi 12:9) this has been changed to read:
"... the mean man boweth not down ... "
In the first edition, page 303, this statement is made concerning God:
"... yea, I know that he allotteth unto men, yea, decreeth unto them decrees which are unalterable, according to their wills ... "
In the 1964 reprint (Alma 29:4) eight words have been deleted:
"... yea, I know that he allotteth unto men according to their wills ..."
In 1981 this was changed back to the original wording.
In the first edition, page 328, the following appears:
"... yea, and that ye preserve these directors ... And now my son, these directors were prepared, that the word of God might be fulfilled ..."
This has been changed to read as follows in the 1964 edition (Alma 37:21, 24):
"yea, and that ye preserve these interpreters… And now my son, these interpreters were prepared that the word of God might be fulfilled… "
n the first edition of the Book of Mormon, page 31, the following appears:
"…neither will the Lord God suffer that the Gentiles shall forever remain in that state of awful woundedness…"
In the 1964 edition (1 Nephi 13:32) this has been changed to read:
"Neither will the Lord God suffer that the Gentiles shall forever remain in that awful state of blindness…"
On page 214 of the first edition this statement appears:
"My soul was wrecked with eternal torment ..."
In the 1964 edition (Mosiah 27:29) this has been changed to read:
"My soul was racked with eternal torment ..."
On page 379 of the first edition this statement appears:
"Now the Nephites were guarded in the city of Gid; therefore Moroni caused that Laman and a small number of men which was appointed to go with him."
This sentence is incomplete in the first edition; however, in the 1964 edition (Alma 55:7) it was changed to read as follows:
"Now the Nephites were guarded in the city of Gid; therefore Moroni appointed Laman and caused that a small number of men should go with him."
On page 351 of the first edition we read:
"And when Moroni had said these words, he went forth among the people, waving the rent of his garment in the air, that all might see the writing which he had wrote upon the rent, and crying with a loud voice ..."
In the 1964 edition (Alma 46:19) this has been changed to read as follows:
"And when Moroni had said these words, he went forth among the people, waving the rent part of his garment in the air, that all might see the writing which he had written upon the rent part, crying with a loud voice ..."
On page 353 of the first edition this statement appeared:
"... the cause of diseases which was subsequent to man, by the nature of the climate."
In the 1964 reprint (Alma 46:40) this has been changed to read:
"... the cause of diseases, to which men were subject, by the nature of the climate-"
On page 382 of the first edition this statement appears:
"... for behold, his army had been reduced by the Lamanites because of the numerority of their forces having slain a vast number of our men ..."
In the 1964 reprint (Alma 56:10) this was changed to read:
"... for behold, his army had been reduced by the Lamanites because their forces had slain a vast number of our men ...."
On page 342 of the first edition we find the following:
"... took the remainder part of his army and marched ..."
In the 1964 reprint (Alma 43:25) this has been changed to read:
"... took the remaining part of his army and marched ..."
On page 501 of the first edition this statement appears:
"... for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more."
In the 1964 reprint (3 Nephi 22:4) nine words have been added:
"... for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more."
On page 305 of the first edition we find the following:
"But behold, it is the effects of a phrensied mind ... "
In the 1964 reprint (Alma 30:16) this has been changed to read:
"But behold, it is the effect of a frenzied mind ... "
On page 236 of the first edition the following statement appeared:
"... I know that Jesus Christ shall come; yea the Son of the only begotten of the Father ..."
In the 1964 reprint (Alma 5:48) the word of has been deleted:
"... I know that Jesus Christ shall come, yea, the Son, the Only begotten of the Father ... "
On page 555 of the first edition this statement appears:
"... his sons and to his daughters, which were not, or which did not seek his destruction."
In the 1964 edition (Ether 9:2) this has been changed to read:
"... his sons and to his daughters who did not seek his destruction."

Warren Aston's daughter, Clair, wanted to search this particular wadi and it had all twelve points of the account of Nephi. None of the others had all twelve points found in The Book of Mormon. Only Kor Kharfot had all twelve.

I was merely following the gospel, not following the desires of the flesh, but be lead by God’s own Spirit, which is the Holy Spirit (Psalm 51:11), withdraw from the world and focus on Jesus and his cross, and pray from my heart.
“Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM." (John 14:21)

And as far as we know (disclaimer: I don't know), the environment/climate could have been very different around 600 BC and the stream could have been more powerful.

Middle Bronze Age autobiographies from Syria are, in the words of A. L. Oppenheim, "without parallel in texts of this type from Mesopotamia and Egypt." They are very distinct in form and features. They also differ considerably from the same kinds of texts from the same area from a later date. As it turns out, however, those distinct features appear in the Book of Abraham which depicts Abraham as coming from Middle Bronze Age Syria.

There's unlikely to be one reason that cities vary. But as I pointed out on the show, social capital is clearly one of the factors. Salt Lake City is in the reddest of red state places -- not a lot of taxes and transfers going on there. And yet it's highly mobile, presumably because of the influence of the Mormon Church, which essentially runs the most comprehensive and effective social welfare system in the country...maybe in the world.

Barbara Duncan, Director of the Museum of the Cherokee Indian: 2004
In his famous book, “The History of the America Indians” eighteenth century explorer and trader, John Adair stated that several hundred Cherokees, living in the North Carolina Mountains, spoke an ancient Jewish language that was nearly unintelligible to Jews from England and Holland. From this observation, Adair extrapolated a belief that all Native Americans were the descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.

Dear friend in humanity, when I did my research in what Jesus' apostles' pupils have written, as apostle John's pupil Ignatius "of Antioch", I learn the true gospel teachings, and they are so simple and wonderful, liberating me and shielding me from any confusion, as what he wrote is exactly what John witnessed with his own eyes, and heard from Jesus Christ.
The apostles' pupils writings are the original Christian teachings, the fulness of the gospel.

We didn't need archaeology to know that the Israelites offered sacrifice outside of Jerusalem. That is repeatedly described in the books of Kings and Chronicles. The problem is that the authors of these books see it as a sin, and part of the cause of Jerusalem's destruction. The command for a central sanctuary is most prominent in Deuteronomy, and the Book of Mormon quotes Deuteronomy approvingly several times.

I have enjoy watching this documentary very much. It has given me insight to the journey of Lehi and his family that I had not considered before. As I watched I felt that much was made of what Sariah and the other women must have gone through. I think that we need to consider what Lehi and Ishmal went through and the hard decision that they had to make. I don't believe for a minute it was an easy burden to bear for the men knowing the hardship that they were taking their families into. I don't doubt for a minute that they did not love their wives and children.Their faith and trust in God had to have been incredible.
