■INTORODUCTION
In the world of Remnant, a place where science and fairy tales coexist, human civilization is plagued by deadly monsters known as the Grimm. For a time, victory by the Grimm seemed all but certain, if not for the heroism of those sworn to protect humanity -- Huntsmen and Huntresses.
These warriors are trained and assembled into teams at schools like Beacon Academy, where Ruby meets Weiss and Blake -- forming Team RWBY along with Ruby’s sister, Yang.

@@symphonixblades I think what they meant is that the Military Weiss happens in actual alternate reality after things go off rail and far different than the original series, than a nightmare because of grimm.

Considering how the first trailer ended with Ruby turning into petals and now Weiss turning into petals, it makes me wonder if Blake and Yang would have “3-episode arcs”.
I think the series in general is focused on Weiss (it is the Ice Queendom afterall). She'll probably be Urobutcher's central idealistic girl.
The first three episodes were a recap, and even there Weiss got the introspective focus. Blake will clearly have a big role here, being the Faunus (maybe even White Fang?) having the most friction with Weiss. Idk about Yang though.
I don't think so. The series is called, "Ice Queendom". It's been focused on both Ruby *and* Weiss since the first episode. The first three were meant to be a recap, and now that we've moved past that recap, we're going into the story they *want* to tell: this nightmare of Weiss' inner conflict.
It's been rumoured that there might be a second season... So maybe we'll have Yang and Blake's nightmares in the future?

3DCG in anime isn't uncommon. SHAFT did the same for Assault Lily and it worked. Saving time and resources is crucial in today's anime industry.

I actually really like this concept because it skips right to the drama without being muddled in the nitty gritty about how they got to this point. We already know the story of the original show so we have some foundation already.

Ah, okay that's the plot. I guess that would enable the writers to make a story without changing the entire thing. It would be a side quest for the team instead of a plot changing event that would render the rest of the original moot in the new universe. Same story beats will follow after the dream sequence but a new story, in the middle of the original, is told. I guess that's a compromise.
Weiss said, "Why betray me, Ruby? I must protect what is precious to me." While looking down at whom I assume is Ruby, like a villain who is weirdly in love with her enemy, the massive door she walks into closes behind her, making the trailer symbolise that Weiss had captured Ruby. 🤭

Honestly, this design wouldn't really fit the mood of V7. Weiss is much more mellowed out by that point, while this outfit represents a manifestation of her worst traits in the V1 era, which is drastically different from future Weiss.

Pretty much, yeah. It's weird how the dream world thing didn't affect the clothes of Jaune's team.
@@soulsearcher117 This is only a speculation, but I think that's because Jaune's nightmare is focused on him and his worst thoughts only while Weiss' nightmare affects not just that and it's apparent through the outfits.
Or it could be like in Gravity Falls when the main characters entered their grand-uncle's mind to get rid a demon. They can think of anything and it will happen because it's a mind world. Though this would indicate Blake wants to have that kind of appearance and I don't know how I feel about that lol.

I think Big Nicholas is a reference to something. But Nicholas Schnee is Weiss grandfather who founded the dust company before her dad married into the family and screwed it up. It's why she wants to take over and fix it.
I think It's a reference to Saint Nicholas.
St Nick' was the historical predecessor of Santa Claus and Christmas, so that's why It's associated here to the Schnee.

She was always an unbearable character tbh
Ironically, most people felt her character in Vol. 1 wasn't racist enough. So this isn't really a bad thing as it only serves as development for her later on.

In real life, Weiss hates the White Fang, you know an actual terrorist group. Her initially being distrustful of faunus in general stems from that because she is on their kill list thanks to her last name.

Her hatred was for a well-known terrorist organization and while she did say she didn't particularly trust the Faunus, that's different from racism. Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another. Adam is a racist as he believes that all humans should be slaves of Faunus and that the Faunus are the dominant species.

Team Rwby vs racist weiss
I would have preferred an animated remake of volume 1-3 with new and improved scenes, dialogue, pacing and story telling. Instead we're getting an animated RWBY fanfiction about what if Weiss became a dictator in Atlas.

NOPE!!! they sacrificed heart for good animation and the music is terrible. I was expecting a crazy opening with the original artist but they didn't even try. or even try to replace it with better music, this is pure crap for me. I tried to watch the 1-3 episodes and I literally cringed almost the whole way and stopped watching after 14 min. It literally feels like they put no passion into it or didn't have good team chemistry. if you like it, good for you, I respect your point of view but for me this aint it. im gonna go watch one piece to lift my spirits.
You’re comparing apples to oranges here.
RWBY volume 1 was made by a small team of animators with a small to mid-sized budget, specifically one guys vision for what he wanted for fight scenes. The “heart” was the fact that it was a show being made by such a small group, you lose that by default with a larger studio.
@@andrewrogers3067 this was a remake to the previous anime, I’m suppose to compare. I understand the point of the big animation budget to a small one that was already a variable. It just feels like the personality of the characters or the anime as a whole was totally changed. I feel like I’m watching a watered down version of rwby or sometimes an entirely different anime. I just wish they were a little more loyal to the vibe of the original creators masterpiece.

@@Drumdancesing2012 Just because there are comparisons doesn't mean that confirms IQ is a remake though. It's just so happens that the first three episodes are focused on the first volume of Beacon. But content wise, they aren't even staying true to the original. They only take the scenes that they see fit, adjusting it to match the story they want to tell, and then put them together. That's not a remake. If you really want the proof IQ is not a remake, this PV literally screams that.
The staff have never, and I mean *NEVER,* told people that. It's not strawmanning when that is the actual fact ffs. IQ being a remake or reboot is an expectation that RWBY fans put on to the show as they're craving for a redo from ground up ... when that's never been the case for Ice Queendom. They promote it as mainly an AU (for simplicity sake, though its canon state is rather questionable, I'll admit) that takes place in between the volumes.
This is absolutely hideous.
The plot is even worse than I feared it would be. It won't have any consequences on the characters or the world as it's a dream.
The animation will switch between decent actions scenes to absolutely horrendous CG, even worse than Vol.1.
After seeing the opening with only scenes from ep 1-3, I knew there was a trap, but this is to be even more painful than I had anticipated.
Is RWBY cursed? Can nothing with the name of RWBY be at least decent.
