This is one of the few anime that makes EVERY flashback feels like a reward, a deserved explaination at the most exact moment possible. Im glad you two noticed the amazing story telling 🥰

Even though it it gets praised sometimes, I honestly don't think people realize what a god tier OST can add to a show/movie. The music during the reveal and especially the final flashback with the crescendo of Choir and Orchestra , /chefskiss

They didn't mention it in anime, but in source material they were explaining that supressing mana is a great training, and frieren has been doing it for centuries 😅
Eps 11 will explain, by heiter that supress mana is tremendous training

Serie said you get way more powerful if you focuse your training on other things and that Frieren for her age is actully pretty unskilled becuse she focused her time on this. I skill and mana strengh are 2 different things so I guess this does not contradict that this is a good training.
This anime is produced by studio Madhouse and based on the manga by Yamada, Kanehito (Story), and Abe, Tsukasa (Art).
The anime follows the manga very well even in art style, the only time it varies from the manga is to expand on a scene.

the fact that Frieren is way older than Flamme (even hesitated to call her master at first) still Flamme has way more larger mana pool for a human. Flamme is ahead of her time and it looks like she planned everything for Frieren.
This episode was the reason I decided to watch the show. I have no regrets

The way Frieren killed Aura is cold as hell. She didn't even give her the decency or honorable way of dying by immobilising her and then firing a spell at her to kill her like a proper duel between mages. Frieren outright disrespected Aura by commanding her to just kill herself under the effects of her own spell. Like telling Aura that she isn't even worth a spell to finish off.
