Note the breathing cycles between the Orca and the Beaked whale, one whole second longer breaths for the Orca, hence their ability to chase their prey to exhaustion. Their large round pectoral fins allow the effortless higher lifts out of the water for more endurance enabling oxygen uptake. 🐬
It was a bunch of ear-splitting wind noise and we get the same feedback when we put music to the videos so we went with nothing this time. We'll take that into consideration for next time.
Watching this whilst thinking also about how ancient seafarers would see these pods and races with their prey. Not being able to explain what they have seen for the very first time. To see the waves and the surfacing and then the brief view of the beaked whale with a large spike at the end of its face, it’s surreal. To know now as modern history has studied and we can explain the view, but to be in absolute fear of the deep oceans. It’s the underworld and it chills me to the bone. No sense of direction or light. The video was beautiful but the haunting under tones is inescapable.
@@genXdoom72That is not the case after a long dive or for a weakened individual that needs the longer recovery time to absorb the needed oxygen in their blood that enable these long dives.
Impossible to say. If it could have dove it would have done so immediately, but it didn't. It appeared that the orcas swam it to exhaustion as they're famous for doing. I'd wager it's much more likely they killed that whale and the videographer chose not to include that part because the video may have been restricted. @@genXdoom72

The clarity of the video was excellent. Now if only there was audio to accompany it. Dead Air sucks.

I could hear everything perfectly!
Agreed
For Orcas, if it swims, it's on the menu!

You got some steady hands Jeff
SO MANY WHALES
Just like wolves on an elk. Great footage.
The rarity of the beaked whales makes a hunt like this especially sad to watch, once Orcas target you, you're pretty much done
I thought beaked whales were "of least concern" on the endangered species list?
0:03 That orca is missing a dorsal fin 😮 Or is it tha much collapsed?
Why didn't the beaked whale dive?
It´s so fascinanting how orcas hunt.... It's not just about killing and eating. There's something else to it, for sure.
💕Wow🧡💜💜🧡💜💜💜
Was this intended for the deaf
What happened to the beaked whale?
Beaked whales dive a lot deeper than orcas can, it probably just dove down to where the orcas couldn’t follow

...they killed it...th-cam.com/video/bfu5z8pXbHw/w-d-xo.html
@Tired-hm4tw lol where you from?

Remember to record the audio next time 😊
We did record audio. A bunch of ear-splitting wind noise. We opted for silence instead of music.
I've never heard that kind of whale (beaked whale) before °○)))
R.I.P Beaked Whale :(((
😅 that's not real, if it were it would swim like the other whales
Beautiful killers.
