i haven't seen Contact, but my opinion, after seeing this clip is that we should never forget 2001: a Space Odyssey. the effects from Odyssey look as real as they could, and these galaxies and cosmic scenery looks pretty cheap.

Of course you are right 2001: A S O is amazing...and this CGI is a little dated, but you should look at some pictures from the Hubble Telescope if you have not already, what you see here is pretty much what exists out there in the universe. Much of the imagery here is based on Hubble photos

I wonder if there are other civilizations out there i am sure there is but they prob can't come to us and we can't go to them. I bet they ask themselves are we the only ones in OUR universe. Its truely disappointing as a lesser intelligent form to consider science as the only answer. Its nice to know we have evolved and have learned some things, but we are not the only intelligent beings in the everywhere. It's silly to think evolution just happened and we got here. But you can have your opinion as I can have mine, science doesn't define our existence, it tries to understand it.
IF there are ANY existence of creatures like us....it will probably take 10's of thousands if not BILLIONS of years to connect with them...So I PROPOSE that we NEED to get our earthy act together.... Cause this is the only place we live and we NEED to be in final harmony with the fact! The universe is infinite . But the music is fantastic....Makes us DREAM.
