Update.. Larry Collins has died at age 79 (Born: October 4, 1944, Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States Died: January 5, 2024) - his sister, Lawrencine May "Lorrie" Collins (May 7, 1942 - August 4, 2018). They were both inducted into The Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

Larry should have been inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. He showed every future front band singer, with a guitar how to be a showman. RIP

@serfardi ,I agree, but now it seems like you have to be Crossover or Hip Hop to get inducted into RRHOF!!! It's sad!! The RRHOF has lost it's relevancy due to this!!🤬🤮 Look how long it took them to induct Foreigner and others that were "Real" Rock & Roll artists.🤬🤮

I was deeply into rock 'n roll at age 5 in 1957 so, it's a shame I never saw them on TV back then! They were phenomenal! I'm blown away by Larry's guitar talent and Lorrie's singing was awesome! My girlfriend an I used to watch them perform on a black and white oval shaped screen and every Saturday we were glued to the show anxiously waiting for them to make their appearance. I came across their videos a few weeks ago. How come growing up in Brooklyn during the 60's I've never heard of the Collins kids. Larry was Elvis, Richard, Lewis, Holly and Berry all wrapped up in himself. And double neck guitar? Didn't know they had that back than. Lorrie was a superstar before the word was coined. And Larry was the essence of pure Rock & roll guitar player that is pure energy raw RnR.

As Rockabilly being among my top three favorite music...I find it hard to believe I just learned of these two a few days ago. Now that's shameful. It's so important to remember Larry and Lorrie were two of the pioneers of turning Western Swing into RockaBilly. Their original Rock and Roll style, moves, and music were copied and even stolen by the "next in line" guys.

I read a sad story about Ricky Nelson, his father Ozzie broke up his relationship with Lorrie and many years later near the end of his life he spoke about his divorce and unhappy marriage, he said he only fell in love once when he was young and alot of people think he was talking about Lorrie , Ricky would probably have lived longer if he married her

It was actually sleazebag manager of Johnny Cash, being twice the age of Lorrie, and more wordly wise in the ways of women, who lured her away from Nelson and enjoyed the fruits of his labours.

Lorrie has said that Ricky's parents didn't want him to venture into Lorrie and Larry's style of RockaBilly, so Ricky often came to the Collin's house to sing and play. Ricky and Larry were both devastated when they heard that Lorrie eloped with the booking agent. I hear that Larry ran out of school, down an alley, sat down, and just cried his eyes out.
