It's amazing that you can tell almost that this video came out AFTER the Tiger lesson, because he's teeing it lower, covering it better, and not lifting getting a tighter dispersion.. Credit him for not immediately name dropping. "Well, see I tee it lower because Tiger taught me..." hahah. Great to see!
Still insane that Grant is still with TM even when he's now part owner of Takomo and is officially playing their irons now. He may be as good a businessman as he is a golfer
I’ve always been around 100-103 mph club head speed, I’ve been fitted many times and been told my optimal numbers are always with a 10.5 standard head and stiff shaft. For chits and giggles I bought a Triple Diamond Tactical, it’s a low spin head and it’s the longest driver I’ve ever hit. I’ve been missing out on 20+yds for years because I thought I was being fitted properly by “professionals” I can’t wait to get my hands on the new QI35 LS, it’s a beautiful looking club.
@@joshuatoop9729 So in school they tell you how time works. It is currently almost 10:30AM EST, and the video comes out at 12:00PM EST. That is 1.5 hours right? So in 1.5 hours it will be out.
@@smevox7490 Didn't teach you social skills at school did they? Or your parents. Your comment doesn't make you appear smart, it makes you appear to be an a-hole...
@@anneveniot9002 Even if you have the money, this marketing machine that tries to convince us that we need to spend $900 every year on a marginally better driver (if it's better at all) is getting comical. Buying the two year old driver for $350 is the way! This was not a fitting, it was an infomercial.
Grant and Trottie - Always a fun video. You can almost see the numbers spinning in Trotties head. Must be hard as a fitter to have to learn the new tech and how it moves the ball then how it affects the player. Top work the pair of you!!!
A year ago I didn't have a golf simulator and I would know nearly nothing about spin rates and club path data. I'm 5 mos into my golf simulator and I know EXACTLY what Grant (and Coach Taylor) are talking about and feeling. Gotta love technology.
Great content! Always love trott on the fitting :) I went to get my first complete bag fitting and went with the qi35 max. I hope to get everything back in the next few weeks.
For anyone curious about last year's Qi10 numbers. Grant had 280+ carry and 300+ total with Qi10. The spin numbers are too low on new drivers for people like him. Even his cuts were less than 2000 RPM... not a good look for TM this year. They look good, but for draw players, they need more spin to stay in the air.
@@Whole.truth.fitness cuts normally have higher spins and better stopping power causing reduced roll distance. His shots still roll a lot in the video which defeats the purpose of better control. To me, it looked more like carry distance lost due to not enough time in the air. He even tried to hit it up more to have a higher launch angle to counter lower spins.
I tested all three of last years models and the QI10 standard was the fit for me..and judging by this video i have no reason to doubt the standard 35 will also suit my game the best..can't wait to demo these and put one in the bag this year!
Incredible. It's just like the Qi10, but black. But did R&D eliminate the clubfaces detaching from the head, or did we simply ask everyone to pay $600 for another new colorway?
Love the insight on this video. Couldn't imagine though, at your local golf club proprietor, that they would spend this much time to dial it in to you personal specs like this. As a mid handicap golfer, the question is whether this is worth $600 or more to improve your game.
When Tiger added the stinger cut he couldn't miss a fairway and when Phil learned how to cut the ball, he started winning majors. David Duval was #1 for a few years and almost never ever drew the golf ball. I feel like "draw for show, fade for dough."
Grant hit the Qi10 in the fitting session further last year by at least 10-15 yards. He lost distance here. Similar clubhead speed. I think Trottie could sell a 3 wheeled Ferrari and convinced the new owner that you’re basically saving on tire wear by only having three wheels. A great salesman. I hate to see a super guy like Grant losing any distance at all, I’d love to see him actually gain. But it is an interesting video. Grant is a phenomenal guy with a swing everyone can envy.
I absolutely love how this driver looks. Will I hit it? Absolutely. Will I get one? Probably not as I got a qi10 last year unless the 35 is mind blowingly better. My biggest concern is how low spinning it is, it almost too low spinning.
interesting hitting out on the range so you can see ball flight versus indoors where a computer tells you. this is real info this is a fitting not many get
Seemed like everything Trotty was encouraging Grant to do with his swing was extremely counterintuitive with regard to what Grant wants to see in terms of ball flight. Low pinch fade fairway finder, and Trotty is beaking him saying it “didn’t carry enough”. Yeah, well that’s exactly what Grant is looking for. Reliable fairway finder under pressure.
For everyone that’s criticizing the carry and distance, didn’t you hear his peak height 78 ft. Then he hit a fade with a peak height at 127 and his carry jumped 20 yards and total was 300.
I feel like people just type and don’t read.. Grant is a part owner of Takoma now and stated he’ll be playing their irons/wedges. In THE SAME POST, says he’ll continue to be a TM athlete and play their driver, putter & ball. Crazy to me in 2025, full grown adults still can’t read. But anyway, Qi35 looks sweet!
The spin rates concern me. Looks like the core head spins less compared to last year's model 🤔. The LS seems like the more forgiving head (outside the 10k)
He has an ownership stake in Takomo and will be playing their irons and wedges. Probably a LAB putter as well I would guess. He will be playing TM woods and ball. The guy is a businessman obviously
@@kennethmckinney2532 I guess that makes sense id want to keep that gold ball deal also he probably has so many cool balls they didn’t release to the public lol
Grant. I have a question. I'm hitting a SIM 2. My ball speed is 150, carry 260s, total 280s on a Trackman. I noticed your ball speed is in the mid 160's and I'm wondering why your drives are somewhat the same. I would have thought with that speed it would be 270s carry, 290's total or higher. Any ideas or maybe another reading this will know?
So grant teeing it lower cuz tiger told him that’s gonna give him more consistent ball dispersion , and trottie trying to get him tee it up 🤣🤣🤣🤣 classic
The driver may be forgiving and Grant's miss hits might still be in play... but give that thing to me. I am the ultimate test on how forgiving a driver is.
The fact that the first video from TM on the Qi35 is with Grant and not the pros is incredible. Love to see it!
Probably 100% cheaper to be honest...
Whilst being very smart by TM given he’s just announced he’s playing Takomo irons
Also it’s more relatable to the general consensus
To be fair we never get a fitting video of the pros, but we will get the range video
Well he’s far more relatable for one, and probably wants to do these, when guys like Tiger or Rory do t have time for this stuff

would love to see a higher lofted Core model with the weights forward so he can get a bit more spin with the same face angle.
Man wish he would have tried a 10.5 LS with the weight forward.
Yes... I was confused they didn't do that. Would help launch and stay away from those 1600 1800 spin. without sacrificing face angle.
