@PERLA JAYA RAM 18BEC7065 i used to study in a seafaring academy back when i wrote this. i think i was still around 17 back then. i aimed to become a ship engineer. my country is one of the best in the world when it comes to making, designing and maintaining ship engines. passed all my courses, most with flying colors, but never gratuated, i was pressured to change career paths without any clear reason after my first onboard training. i was still underage and really confused about what was going on so i gave in pretty easily. also while i loved the job the social environment was pretty hostile, so i’m actually pretty glad i changed career paths. while i don’t really love the new career i’m studying, it has way better people.
@PERLA JAYA RAM 18BEC7065 just to clarify btw, i’m from finland. i dunno how seafaring education works in other countries. i just applied to seafaring vocational school and got accepted cuz i had high enough grades and had relatively good physical health. also teachers help students apply to secondary education (such as highschool/vocational schools) at the end of 9th grade so the applying isn’t that hard. as long as you study and try hard enough and archieve high enough grades and have relatively ok mental and physical health you should be able to study anything. i heard it might be more difficult in some other countries, so i’m not sure how it works there. i was just lucky to be born in a country with free and easy access to any education. my biggest challenge while applying was honestly just deciding where i wanted to apply.
@@Kobs.A english isn’t an official language but people are still able to speak it. especially most young people are really good at english, and you can get service in english, but the first language that people still speak is finnish. so you can’t really eavesdrop others conversations unless you speak finnish. but pretty sure everyone speaks english to you once they realize you’re a foreigner.
This is made for heavy fuel oil. Closer to bitumen than diesel. Only time they use diesel-ish(still pretty crude) is when the port they are going to demands it.
Has anyone built a small single bore engine like this as a demonstration? I am aware of what Americans call two cycle engine that has no valve in the head. I've not seen an engine of this design before and find it quite interesting. I'm too old and enfeebled to build one myself.
Its almost midnight on a random Tuesday and in 4 minutes I finally learned how engines work
This is a thorough and concise explanation of the process. Thank you for sharing this.
Thnks. This will probably be the reason I might pass my courses.

PV diagram explaination is very useful thx
Thanks for this upload!.
a tip: you can watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Kamdyn Brock yea, I have been using Flixzone for since december myself :)
I'm used to automotive engines, the bore to stroke ratio of these is crazy to me.

Thanks for this idea 😍
Excellent
We need this with Arabic language ❤
Informative video😊
Fascinating, Thank You.
thanks for the video!
How super slow speed affects the crosshead bearing?
Thank for upload
Is there a full version of this video?
Great video
Nice
very good explanation sir
very valuable vedio
Thanks...its useful
marvellous explanation
interesting video
It's like a 8.19time of video digital analysis of work and measuring and (Q) kg or ton per hour diesel fuel?
thank you for good video for training ! Dock5ai
quite the bore!
Thankyou
Than You Raglin.
What size ship in dwt would an engine like this be in
good luck
Formula the work are measuring: A= F*S where A - work, F- power S- distance?
F stands for Force, not Power
Its 6cylinder and 2stroke right?
Jerico Lacerona Yes, essentially a MAN engine from a German type 7 Uboat but supersized.
Yeah
Yes, with either of two firing orders, 162435 or 153426.
yep

good

Good Day...you can find out as (Sulzer Engine RD or RND) this type of engines dosent have exhaust valves...
What is the most efficient RPM of a large marine engine, like this? I Geas about 60-100RPM?
My teacher once told me that these engines have their max horsepower at 100 rpm
@@xbenneke01x totally depends on piston size/piston travel. some HUGE engines wont even go to 60rpm, whilst others will go to 150-200rpm
Depends the kind of the ship and the kind of the engine, I've been with a max 75rpm engine in cape size bulk and with 100 rpm in post panamax bulk :)
72
Usually about 90-92 for efficiency, but it will vary.
can anyone tell me HD-man, b&w '5L50MC' is 2 stroke or 4 stroke Engine???
It's a 2 stroke
2 stroke, long stroke engine
What about B&w

How does the crankshaft take on all that weight though ??
Simply by being huge... The crankshaft on the biggest engines can weigh 300 tons or more
