There is nothing wrong with being a fanboy for your favorite team when they have an incredible comeback victory.
Being an avalanche fan, gotta know that feeling very well.
Facts! Especially for a team that hasn't had much success for over a decade.
Not only they hold the oilers to two shots after the hyman’s goal they held mcDavid to 0 shots for the first time in his career during the playoffs.
He had a shot on net, their goalie kicked it away with his right leg, if was a backhand. If it wasn't recorded then he was robbed of always having a shot.
@@Farrell_instinctsat least in the first scoresheet he has 0
I’m happy for you Shannon if the avs don’t win it I wouldn’t mind seeing the canucks win it
Wow!!! And he only got 1 assist.
He had a shot that passed under Silovs net and passed straight across the crease, so it technically didn't register as a shot, I imagine, but really it should, because that was dangerous, mate.
"I wasn't nervous, I was just disappointed." Might be the single most "Canucks" sentence ever.
We Blues fans can relate. Other than 2019, we’ve had 56 years of disappointments. And I’ve watched them since 1968! Maybe this will be Vancouver’s year!
The crowd coming out of Rogers arena was so loud I could hear them cheering from the Granville Island (south) side of the seawall.
Holy crap lol!!!
The absolute ROAR in the stadium when Zadorov tied the game - perfection.
As I told my friends; Never turn off a Canucks game when they are down a few goals this season!
The main reason I'm a Canucks fan is the 01 02 season. Naslund. What a ride
on an absolute piss missile nonetheless
Massive character win from the Canucks
For sure. Silovs also showed great character, bouncing back from 2 weak goals in a minute and slamming the door at 4, and allowing the comeback to be possible.
@@Seriously_Unserious
And the team defense which didn’t allow very many good scoring chances, or even many shots.
As a Ducks fan, Vancouver- you have officially made me cheer for you these playoffs, that was absolutely magical to watch!
Well, Ducks rhymes with Nucks, so maybe that's good enough to have an alternate for when your team's having a fowl season?
For Puckworld !!!
When the wind blows hard and the sky is black... Ducks rhymes with Canucks 🤷♂️
@@6hughmungus9 and when the Chickens are running loose and the cows are spinning circles in the pasture ...
😕😵
uh ... Ducks rhymes with Nucks?
The Mighty 'Nucks
Shannon's teams giving up a 3 goal lead and overcoming a 3 goal lead is insane lol
Meanwhile Dallas…
@@ryyyyanIts one game, for both, see how both do in game 2. Canucks/stars is my WCF so id love to be as happy as shannon.
@@anthonyfaccaro7118 while I agree with you. I imagine it may be more stressful trying choose which team to cheer more for😂😂
@@anthonyfaccaro7118 while I could see the stars potentially winning I don’t think that’s very likely anymore as I don’t see the avs losing at home with the combination of the altitude the stats extra games played and the way that arena gets rocking when the avs smell blood in the water
I won't lie, hearing you justifiably geek out of what the Canucks did is one of the best reminders that you're still a fan at the core of everything you do. It's what makes the game so great.
Zadorov is an absolute playoff beast thank you Calgary!
Thank the owners. Once Conroy knew who wanted to leave, he made some very nice deals!
Lindy too! And we're happy to see them both taking chunks out of the Oilers. Go Canucks!
take care of big Z and Elias! miss them. Cheering for u guys =p
As a preds fan, theres no denying how incredible this team is. I could not believe that the oilers would out choke my team. Go nucks go baby i wanna see yall win it all.
Thank you Kind sir
Sincerely an a ecstatic Canucks Fan
Classy comment 👌
I’m neither a Canucks or an Edmonton fan, but I fully disagree. Vancouver played terrible hockey today, Edmonton owned them the entire first half of the game until Drai got injured and they got shaken and started playing weird. 4/5 of the goals were brutal goaltending by Skinner with very little defensive support. Frankly this was a failure on Edmonton’s part and not a showing of Canucks being a good team. If anything they should have got crushed. I guess only the Oilers could give up that lead to a team like Vancouver.
Either way, go Avs go!
@@mcthunderstick2374 Canucks definitely didn't look good for the first 45 minutes of play, and should count themselves lucky that 15 minutes of good hockey was enough to get the win. But both teams had nearly identical regular season records to the Avs, who at times have also looked terrible against the Jets and against Dallas in these playoffs. I wouldn't be so hasty to judge, we'll see what happens. I'd think Edmonton has a better chance against the Avs, as a Canucks fun I'd rather match up with Dallas for sure. But I do hope we get some better hockey out of both teams in this series.
@@xXxXcrosbykidXxXx regular season is irrelevant. I don’t think either team goes past the conference final. My only point is that everyone is sucking themselves off over Vancouver as if they’re some hidden dark horse, when really they looked terrible against Nashville (the worst seed team in the west playoff run) and they did NOT have a good game against the Oilers. Edmonton dug their own grave tonight, it was not due to Vancouver being good. That’s my point.
“if oilers tied it this up and force overtime i might need some meds” 😭😭😭😭
I love happy Shannon ☺️
Sick name 🤙
yeah, same. Not a "boy howdy" to be heard in this video!
Tocchet was praising Zadorov not just for his on ice battles, goals but leader in locker room , so loose and funny. 3rd period said something funny , had guys laughing incl Rick
Damn wish i could see the locker room vibes esp after the W!!!
Zaddy needs an extension before the series is over. Miller's tip was a best goal of the playoffs candidate worthy. This is why we love playoff hockey.
That Garland goal was a sweet one too
@@user-dl3uo3we2z It was. We should hang Garlands in the coliseum in honour of our favorite Christmas decoration/hockey player!
IMO the best Canucks goal of the playoffs so far has to be Brock Boesser completing the Hattrick to tie it up in a full Lotto Line goal with just 6 seconds remaining. Scoring with his own jersey number left on the clock, on a horrific angle where he was behind the net and had to pull the puck out in front of the goal line to get the shot off. Not to mention Hughes breaking some ankles on that goal with his crazy moves to get the Lotto Line up.
So impressive. Any other Playoff year, they give up if they are down by at least 2 goals. This team actually seems to have a killer instinct for the first time maybe ever.
They don't give up
@@weepingdalek2568 #Tocchet
I thought the Canucks were probably going to lose the game at multiple points during the game but I still believed they could mount a comeback after that Nashville 3-1 game. This team is unreal. Fighting until the bitter end.
That's one thing I love about this Canucks team
Even if they're down in the third, they still don't give up
@@weepingdalek2568Leafs should take notes.
It’s because of that comeback that I decided to listen during the 3rd period.
They don't do anything easy but they don't ever quit. This Canucks team is bad for my heart.
They never give up. The 01 02 team. It's great to be a fan unless Cloutier's in net.
I'll remember it too, Shannon. My fiance is only a couple of seasons into being a hockey girl (we're Canes fans), and she has actually been watching the Western Conference games (we work nights, so theyre on when we get home). And after watching this game, she said to me: "Thank you for introducing me to hockey". Now that's a game reaction! Amazing effort from Vancouver - i couldnt be happier for you guys!
That's awesome dude!! What a feeling of gratification and appreciation 😊
Wow! You got a keeper! I hope you have a long and happy marriage!
My fiancé didn’t drop me even when I jumped up and knocked off her glasses when my Blues scored against the Rangers back in 1974.
Got married to her in 1975. We’ve now been married 49 years! (PS, it was a preseason game. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so excited! 😆)
Years later, she schlepped our two sons off to hockey practices in all kinds of weather, too.
My gf had never been to a sporting event in her life. This season she’s gone to 3 canes games, (4th one will be tonight). And she’s picked a fave player
That’s is so awesome, go canes
Was texting with my brother who said “This might be a sweep” when Edmonton was ahead and my reply was “Nah, Edmonton can’t defend” and, well, that proved to be true tonight! Congrats on the fun win, THG
Well technically it can still be a sweep😂
They couldn’t defend against the Canucks in the regular season lol
@@seanragsdale5636 Didn’t catch their games against each other in the regular season as an east coaster, but same problem with Oilers this year as every other: they just don’t seem to have the d core or goaltending to win the Cup. But maybe they’ll prove me wrong.
They can just not consistently
They were defending just fine until the Draisaitl injury.
I went from depression to jumping around the house
Why? Do you have money on the team or are they paying your bills otherwise who cares.
@@rickhammond2473 huh? Are you ok?
Holding the oilers to 16 shots is incredible any way you slice it. That stingy boring Nashville series is exactly how you win in the playoffs. I didn’t think they could do it to the oilers and maybe they still can’t but for tonight at least, I’m thoroughly impressed.
Oilers might have thought after 12 shots, and their 1-0 win against LA, we got this!
Something about 3 goal leads this round. What a clinic on the comeback by Vancouver.
Especially 4-1 leads. If your team gets a 4-1 lead in a game, be afraid... be very afraid. You know the comeback's coming for you.
@@Seriously_Unseriouswas there another 4-1 comeback?
@@WestonNYR I think it involved the Leafs doing it to the Bruins in one of their 7 games. Shame the Leafs game up short in the series comeback though.
@@Seriously_Unserious hey didn't though, unless im crazy, lol!
3/5 wins for Canucks came during a third period comeback
Canucks were the best 3rd period team in the league for a reason!
The Canucks are inevitable.
@@J-jizzy_2nd best, behind Colorado!
@@mcthunderstick2374 we were the best 3rd period team in the first half of the season at least!
It’s interesting because the story for the Canucks in regular season about their 3rd period is how they almost always win when they went into that period with the lead.
For the playoffs, it’s about how they win when they *don’t* have the lead.
I'm a Kraken fan and green to hockey, but the hockey playoffs are quickly becoming my favorite out of any major North American sport. I suppose I'm spoiled with two series going to seven games for my first experience but it is incredible to watch
This Canucks team is so much more gritty than last years. This time like 2021, they would be 4-1 and then just lose 4-1. Now they get goals in, tie and then find a way to win 4-5
That 3rd period was ridiculous. What a comeback 🤯
At the rate we're going, im on track for a heart attack at 24 years of age. Lets go Canucks!
Why? Do you have a lot of money riding on the team?
This was pure joy for any hockey fan.
I lost my voice from how much I yelled and celebrated that garland goal
That was a BEAUTY!!!
No goalie should be expected to stop that shot.
So you won money? If not who cares
@@rickhammond2473 damn who pissed in your Cheerios?
How's it going shannon. I'm still shaking.
Me too 😅
Grand theft auto 😂 that would've been me too 😅 so proud of how far you came - started watching you a couple years ago or so and your passion, knowledge and respect for all teams is so cool to see and you utmost deserve the fanbase you've garnered now! 🙏🏼🖤
After Game 4 against the Predators, no one turns the TV off with the Canucks anymore. They never give up.
The fact that the Canucks just stuck with it and frankly outplayed the Oilers for the second half of this game impressed me so much. I don't even know why I'm surprised by this team's resilience anymore it's like the personality of the coach and the players is totally in sync.
They're so N Sync you'd think they're a 90s Boy Band that's not on the Backstreets!
Dak Street's back ALRIGHT
@@willb6913I love that😂
This game and the 3-1 comeback game against the preds, games to remember for sure. I’m buzzing
that comeback, Lotto Line classic, with a classic Quinn Hughes ankle breaker of a play to set it up and Brock Boesser going The Beast Incarnate mode and scoring the hattrick goal with his own jersey number on the clock! Classic!
EDIT: I mean how often do you see that? A player scoring a highlight reel goal to tie it up with his exact jersey number left on the clock! Almost like there's a destiny unfolding this year!
The Canucks may just be the most resilient team remaining right now. What an impressive win
What about Avs?
@@Andriig75Who?
The Oilers beat themselves and nothing more.
@@roberturner2393 Yeah, just like the other four times they lost to the Canucks this season.
Happy to see Zadorov doing well in Vancouver
I’m gonna listen to some Oiler radio this morning….smiling all the way to work.
I’m willing to look past whatever happened to Ian Cole tonight. It wasn’t his night and it costed the team. But he’s done so much more in the other 88 games this season. Just sucks it had to happen tonight.
Rest up Ian, we still need you. We have a long road ahead of us.
Zadorov master class
Zedorov, Joshua, Miller, Lindholm, Hughes shadowing McDavid to 0 shots. Petey, if he can't get pucks on net, at least he was knocking some Oilers around with big checks. He's off his game but still finding ways to contribute. Everyone is. Even a Bipolar Ian Cole got an assist to make up for some of his defensive lapses. I mean, this team is just stacked with "heroes of the day" from all 20 slots!
@@Seriously_Unseriouswell said dude! So many "fans" cry and h8 on petey (understandable due to the large $ contract) but he's doing SO MANY INTANGIBLES like hustling on D and checking... thoroughly impressed with his efforts on D at least
@@Seriously_Unserious You gotta add Hronek to that list. He had a bunch of really good defensive shifts and managed to contain McDavid without taking any penalties. One of the unsung heroes of this awesome game.
He has transformed into a defensive offenseman. Kinda neat.
@@st0rmchild Let's just say it was a team effort and everyone did their part. 5 goals, 5 different goal scorers about sums it up for the Canucks.
I've been watching THG for 3 years now... This is my favorite video. Not by a lot, but not by a little either. Well done Shannon, what a game.
This team is really growing on me. I love how they SHOW UP FOR THE FANS.
They don't give up, even down in the third
'Underdogs' can be a dangerous beast! Another epic come-back play off game by the Canucks!
I've never seen Hockey Man this happy.
The Canucks have done a great thing!
So I live in Bolivia - just a little too far away to watch or listen to a whole playoff game played in Vancouver as it starts kinda late. So what a treat to wake up a few times now and hear about the Comeback Canucks. Fun. Thanks for your updates.
Zadorov didn't do much for my team, the Blackhawks, and suddenly he's Ray Bourque.... Fantastic game! Great commentary. Pulling for the Nucks, or at least for Canada to finally win a Cup.
He didn't do much for the Avs either. I was more than thrilled when they shipped him off.
Even since he was first drafted by Buffalo there's been a spark there, he just needed time and the right environment to come into his own. So happy for him after all these years
My wife: Who is that big defenceman that just scored?
Me: “Zaddyyyyyyy~~~~~~~”
Zedddyyyyy From Teddy! Has a nice ring to it!
What a crazy comeback. This'll be a great series.
This was a true character win for the Canucks. This series ia going to be fantastic.
Not often, we get to see Shannon happy in these round two playoff reviews. A real nice change of pace.
Imagine, if Demko and Petey come back!
😱😱😱
As a Kings Fan, I am rooting for Vancouver Canucks to win the Stanley Cup. In 2012, I got to see my team win their first Stanley Cup and in 2018 I saw the Capital’s fan reaction to seeing the caps Win their first Stanley Cup and in 2019 I watched the blues fans and I want that for Canucks fans. I know the pain and I know the relief. Go Canucks Go!
Same here, TBH. I know exactly what you mean; I was honestly happy for all those fans because I remember how we felt in 2012. No matter what happens from now until the end of days, we who witnessed it will always have that feeling.
@@douglassun8456 exactly and Vancouver & Buffalo are the current longest team with out a Stanley Cup and Buffalo is a few years away. Vancouver this year is your year!
Fellow Canucks fan here. Die hard fan from alberta. What an amazing come back by the Canucks. I was falling asleep when it was 4-2 tbh lol
But wow the Canucks showed me I had to keep my eyes open and keep watching xD
Lets go Canucks!!
Might not have been a goal, but Petey's diving poke check on McDavid to stop that scoring chance in the third was clutch as hell. He's working hard right now, and thankfully the rest of our guys are finding the net when they need to right now. Once he starts scoring and finding that rhythm it's gonna get scary.
This definitely wasn't goaltending at it's finest but this is going to be a interesting series to watch.
All four round two series have been great.
It was 4-1 WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
That Draisaitl injury turned everything around. Hopefully he's ok because idk if they win a game without him.
They got swept in '22 after he went out before the Colorado series.
I was at the game! The atmosphere was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced! The cocky Oilers fans strutting around, Vancouver fans nervously talking about getting swept, but then…the Canucks with yet another ‘best game I’ve ever seen’ performance pull it off!
We’ve beaten the oilers 5 straight now. Keep it up boys.
It'll be 8 straight soon enough, and this is from a lifelong Oilers fan.
In Tocchet I trust
Most wholesome comment section . Positivity breeds positivity. Man this channel rocks and so does the community
This playoffs is gonna shave a few years off Shannon's life... mine too
This comment made me
Laugh. I feel this too lol
if they somehow managed to win it all, I'd take that trade
I have no skin in this series, but watching your joy here warms my heart. Fine: I'll root for the Canucks on this one.
I was there in person for my first ever playoff game live and my fiance and i were over the moon after that comeback. So many rude oilers fans on skytrains and busses on our way in saying we had no chance. One game at a time but that felt great
Been waiting for the video, Enjoy Shannon
I did turn it off. The announcers were stating all the bad defensive play by the Canucks. Then there was Silovs and I did not know whether he was playing badly or the Canucks in front of him were. Then there is Zadorov and what an impact he is having in the playoff series. Unbelievable come back.
I know I've said this a few times, but as a Blues fan, Shannon I really want you to get to experience what we did in 2019.
Thank you Shannon :) Love your channel!!!
I was really looking forward to this review video!!
Awesome to see some passion & happiness from Shannon!
Love the insights...keep it coming!!
Comebacks are the best 😎🥳 That’s one of the reasons I really enjoyed Detroit’s season. I’ve been rooting for Vancouver in this playoff, so I’m super happy right now! 😍
That was an absolute disaster
Thx Shanny, Epic comebacks in two series and I'm already good with whatever happens. Hopefully more to come...Meds was scotch over here.. Keep it going
Wow I changed the channel I figured the oilers where winning this game I put on sportscenter I missed a great comeback I’m a kings fan but I’m rooting for Vancouver
Still feels too good to be true. Emotional win big time! That was special
Never turn the game off because watching a good comeback is better then just a smooth win. You won’t forget games like these. Also game 1 and 4 nash comebacks .
WOOT! THG is putting the time in for us! Thanks... enjoy your recaps
I said it a week ago: This series is going to be a banger. Some bookies got focked tonight.
Great game, amazing comeback. I'm rooting for the Canucks in this series.🎉
What a comeback
THG with these quick uploads cementing his status as a top in class as well. Legend.
I feel like Shannon gets carte blanche to wear Canucks Jerseys this entire playoff run for his videos. GOOOOO CANUCKS (from a Flames fan)
This is such a wholesome moment watching Shanon trying to contain his excitement and I love it so much! We’re all so grateful for your many years of content and happy to see your success. You da man THG!!! 🤘😎🤘
Oil had no hustle or fire in them from the 2nd period on. We played for 3 minutes in the second and got 2 goals and then did absolutely nothing. We let them have board battlese, we waited for pucks to come to us. Ugh. Well, onto the next.
The poor zone exit passes started well before that. The Canucks just didn't capitalize.
I love this dude. Good analysis as always, stay amazing bud.
That was amazing . 4-1 in a playoff game most of the time it’s over.
Sadly, with the Oilers, no lead can be considered safe.
History has shown it time and time again.
They need to remember that.
Skinner was very sleepy tonight…. Vancouver never quit either… the team that wins the grit game wins most times
Yup. Luck is a fickle ally and can leave you or curse you as quickly as it can bless you.
The Oilers choking this game away like my Dallas Stars did in Game 1. 😒
If no penalties called next game Dallas wins dont worry.
What a game, still in shock! Go nucks!
Love your channel. You are so informative without being biased. You are funny and you explain your opinions. You really understand the game of hockey and I love your white board previews and reviews of all the games you watch. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing all of your excellent content 😊
This has to creep into the psyche of the Oilers, they lost to Vancouver all year and now they lost in comeback fashion, when they had control of the game. If Draisatil is hurt, that will be another mental challenge to work through. 1 power play; keep playing that clean Canucks, keep that power play off the ice. Fantastic result.
I feel weird as a KIngs fan but Go Canucks!
Congrats to Vancouver on a well played game im just getting bad regular season vibes I have a feeling after this game the oilers are done im not being pessimistic I just see the oilers playing like the did during the regular season and I'm not very hopeful right now
Canucks living rent free in the Oilers heads.
Now they're
How do you know for certain some kind of rental agreement was never signed hmm?
Not entirely sure the logistics of getting that done, but it's possible 🤔
(I will be here the rest of the playoffs providing dumb questions that absolutely no one asked 👍)
Goosebumps, just what an incredible win! 💚💙
Loving this!!
So happy for Shannon
With the stick getting stuck in Joshua's helmet I get its a follow through so no call. I kinda felt once he put his hands back on the stick and started trying to wrench it out with the play on, its still his stick, its in his hands and its in contact with Joshua's head - maybe that's a call? Never seen anything like it before. lol
Pettersson is playing well. He was a net positive since he played so well defensively. He's just snakebit when it comes to offence. He could have a big game on Friday and all of his scoring touch will come back. Or he could just play well enough defensively that it doesn't matter, as the Canucks have depth scoring.
Unreal Shannon! This was epic. I thought they were done.
