- It seems like the most interesting profiles come from the characters that have a devilish side to them. Edmund is no exception to that. He came in a spiteful prince and left even more spiteful. Along the way Edmund tried the saint approach but it's wasn't in his nature. Edmund is definitely a complex character. He also got away with some pretty mean things. Take a look at what I am talking about. Tell me what your favorite Edmund moment is in the comment section.
There is just something about Edmund I can't resist... thanks for another awesome profile!!!! Keep 'em coming!!!

The Dark Prince is now dancing around on Broadway in a bright orange disco outfit and living with his boyfriend Nigel. Ha! Ha! I just had the priviilege of seeing David Andrew McDonald in Mamma Mia this weekend and he was fabulous. His character of Edmund was certainly very compelling.
I miss seeing him daily! David did such a great job portraying Edmund. I wish I could see the clip of him and Blake dancing!
Thanks for the memories.
Edmund was interesting mainly due to David Andrew McDonald's amazing perfomances. I so miss seeing him on my screen.
I was lucky enough to meet him at a GL gathering ( where he got a standing ovation by the crowd) and later he came to the table in the bar where us Edmund/David fans were sitting and talked to us. Very Gracious with a great sense of humor
Oh Yay! I was hoping for an Edmund profile. In Phillip's defense he offered Edmund the job as a favor for Richard. Edmund really didn't intend to hurt Cassie, although he did kidnap her. Richard really should have made Edmund get counseling. Beth liked Edmund because he made her feel strong.
I was so hopeful for Edmund. I was hoping that he would be the next Roger Thorpe of sorts. It just seemed in the end, TPTB ruined a promising character.
I dont know I always thought Edmund was creepy. Could never figure out what the women of Springfield saw in him
I love this, I just wanted to say that @ 5:07 u referred to Jeffery as Richard, just something I caught
Good eye! I can't believe I did that. OOPS!
It happens especially when the actors r the same person it would have confused me too
Ur doing so many not these videos something is bound to give
I named my son after Edmund...lol
David Macdonald was great as Edmund. I would have liked David Hemblen to have played Edmund as a sub
@Goldenrod636 Yes while he and Cassie were still living in San Cristobel, Richard discovered that Alonzo Baptiste, a Fisherman was the Real San Cristobel Prince. Alonzo at first didn't want the Title but after Richard died, he knew that he had to lead the Country or it would revert back to being Owned. Sadly enough he died.
I think they created this character around 1997 because they needed a strong long-range villain. After Michael Zaslow was fired and Dennis Parlato took over as Roger, that character fizzled. So Edmund was brought in to basically be a new replacement villain after Parlato was let go and Roger was written out. Instead of a continuing rivalry between Roger & Ed, we now had one with Richard & Edmund. Of course Edmund also battled other people for power and control, especially after Richard died. During the John Conboy-Ellen Weston era (2002-2003) they tried to make him a heroic nice guy which didn't work at all. Fortunately the next producer/headwriter team of Ellen Wheeler & David Kreizman returned Edmund to his dastardly ways and he was once again up to his old tricks, stealing Michelle Bauer's baby Hope and passing her off as Cassie's dead child in a memorable baby swap plot. Edmund was written out a bit later but he would still return for short-term arcs. And he even appeared in the last week's episodes in September 2009 battling Richard's doppelganger Jeffrey O'Neill.
Didn't care for humor his brother. Hated the San Cristobal storyline.
Do you think Prince Richard and Edmund make you think of Scar and Mufasa from the Lion King?
Edmund would be the next Roger Thorpe. In the uniform he reminds me a bit of Quinton Chamberlaine.
Edmund was the only guy I ever liked Cassie with and I agree that Jeffery was all about Richard. If Jeffery & Dinah hadn't played on Edmund's insecurities he'd never have hit Jeffery & he did save her. I say that was the sanest Edmund was & they could have happily ever aftered.
Edmund really was crazy. I really started to hate him when I found out about what he did to Michelle. Stealing Hope from her and Danny. Edmund lost it in the end, assuming he ever had it in the first place.
I wish they had let Danny & Michelle have another crack at him before they left.
Forgot about the stroke
hey. do you have the episode prince edmund falls off the cliff in san christobel?
Who can we compare Edmund to in the soap world? Reply back soon!
Roger Thorpe
So was Alonzo the third son?
