Faster than these modern bowlers. They don't finish off their actions, they don't get side on and they don't get close to the stumps. It were done proper back i' day.
@@duncanpriestley964 Mitchell Starc is a "modern bowler" given he actively plays now. He was clocked at 160.4kph at the WACA AUS v NZ in the 2015-16 Test series. While Fred was no slouch, I doubt he ever quite hit this speed. Don't be shy of the 21st century, lad!
They don't make them like him anymore, and the sport of Cricket suffers for it.
One of the best natural actions I have ever seen.
What a brilliant interview.. I wasn't in the ground when he got his 300th test wicket but I heard it live on the radio. It should have been Sir Fred.
R I P Fred
So many wonderful stories, what a fine player and raconteur.
1) He didn't drive the car, he aimed it
2) This man is throwing it, yeah but he is throwing it straight
he was the first bawler to take 300 test wickets in august 1964 great bawler
Bawler ?

I was trying to parody what Fred might've said about himself in the TMS commentary box.

Fred *NEVER* talked about himself! But he would tell you himself that his modesty is second to none.
