Hi: I'm new to video Edit in windows 10. In background music the music selected will match the length of the video. Can you add more music to the folder? I tried the custom but the music I used is too short?
I have a problem. The first time I opened Video Editor the custom audio and background music was working. Now, it just doesnt make any sound at all. For custom audio, it thinks that the audio is about 1 millisecond long and for background music it doesnt even make sound.
8:23 when you dragged and dropped the audio file into the video editor, the blue line showing the audio was very long and you could adjust it. for me, it wasn't that long and if i tried to adjust it, it wouldn't budge. a little help here?

Yes I believe it should be MP3. I'm not sure which other file types are supported. If you're using the video for social media you want to make sure that it is royalty free. I know TH-cam has an audio section of music you can use if you're posting on their site.

In the past, I used to download Copyright free music from TH-cam using TH-cam to MP3 Converter and then importing that audio to my video which I was creating on Windows Movie Maker. But recently when I try to do this I just get a short bar in the Audio part of the video and no sound. Likewise, when I try using my mike to add audio to my video project in Movie Maker, a bar appears but there's no audio in it. Any tips you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks. Armen

I converted a song from a youtube video, I add it to the video, I see it in the right sidebar as added, I make sure slider covers length of video, click "done" and t adds it to the right side "add custom video", it doesn't play it at all. Have to put my whole project in another platform and song plays. Why won't it play imported songs?

My audio on my *.mp4 doesn't play. Audio plays fine in VLC Media Player but not in Video Editor. I checked System, Sound, Volume Mixer--for Microsoft Photos, volume is enabled at 100% as well as for VLC media player. Volume icons also show up in Storyboard and in Project Library thumbnails. Yes, you can do this but I believe it will only allow one song per video. If you are want multiple songs, I would make a different video for each song and then combine the videos in one final project.

This is an excellent explanation of the procedure. Wish all instructional vids were this thorough and clear. Am just starting to do some short vids with my own little dogs , and have songs on YT playing while I,m filming , but want to add a song later because when I move away from my speakers the sound is lower , because I'm outside . NVE, a quick question. I have just started to learn editing and watched your video. In my project I have 5 slides followed by a monologue. I selected a score from Windows 10 as background music which I want to play for the slides but stop for the monologue clip. There does not seem to be any way to make that happen. The score selected plays for the entire video, Is there a way to turn off the music for the monologue clip but keep it with the slide presentation?
When you add the music there are two little handles in the music timeline at the bottom where you can adjust where the music starts and ends. Your other option is to edit them separately as 2 different videos and then combine them at the end. Hope this helps!

I have watched your vid and saw you had that option under custom music but unless I am missing something, I don't think you get that option with Windows 10 music.
Interesting, The other option would be to try another editor. I use Hitfilm Express which is also free and I have a tutorial if you look back in my channel. Adding audio in this software is no problem.
I have a video, the person is talking in the video. The video also has music in the background as the person is talking. The background music is rather loud and it is hard to concentrate on what the person is saying. I like to remove the background music in the video but keep the audio of the person that is talking. When I put the custom music in, I can't adjust how long it will play with the handles on the slider. It is stuck together making it play for a second.

Newly made mp3 files won't work. Make your custom audio into an mp4 file and drag it where you would usually put your custom mp3 file, worked for me

You should be able to add additional audio files using the same commands shown at 8:16 in the video.
for 3 years I never knew there's a video editor for free in my computer
Why I can't drag two vertical line to left and right ? They stick together and can't expand to right and left . So it makes music short .

Yes, there are a little slider handles where you can adjust the in and out points when adding the music.

You could try updating the photos app in the Microsoft store to see if this solves the problem.

Make a new project put music on the clip u want create the video then go back to ur main project and put the clip in
