    It's funny how so many people completely forget to breathe when they are fighting. Aside from throwing punches that's like the most important thing. But you're right people get caught up in the moment

    I feel like a big part of it is also body conditioning. If your body isn’t used to getting hit you’ll gas out for sure so just running isn’t the whole picture. It’s a big part of it but it’s not everything. I felt this after coming back to the gym after taking a long break for school.

  • @MostlyPeacefulNinja
    @MostlyPeacefulNinja 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Bruh. You are right. Running alone won't do it. Trust me, I thought having great running pace would help me when I first sparred at our hot azz gym that felt like it was 120 degrees in there, but I was WRONG.
    What has helped me the most recently is, pushing myself in shadow boxing and on the heavy bag AFTER I'm already tired from doing cardio. Like, I will run 3 miles and go straight into shadow boxing with gloves or weights, without more than 20 sec rest or water breaks. Also, I don't exhale through my mouth during any of these exercises. I need to change it to having no breaks for 45 minutes straight.

    • @coachv3436
      @coachv3436  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s crazy how most people automatically assume because they can run at a fast pace. It doesn’t always translate to Boxing like you said because running is predictively, rhythmic and boxing is all broken rhythm you have to constantly adapt to the tempo of your opponent by staying at least one step ahead of him, which can be completely exhausting if they are faster than you or super erratic. Good adjustments to your training regimen by the way that’s very smart and nice combination of cardio to keep the gas tank full, but being able to adapt to intermittently switching from office to defense and while being able to switch to high gear with punching combinations at a moments notice his key!

    • @MostlyPeacefulNinja
      @MostlyPeacefulNinja 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@coachv3436 Yes. Your last sentence is exactly what I'm working on next. Adding defense and counter punches to my workout AFTER I'm already tired from doing cardio. This is where you find out where your boxing cardio is really at. For example punching the heavy bag alone vs punching the bag while adding slips, ducks and rolls is a truly different workout. Makes you even more tired.
      I don't want to lose a fight because I got tired.

      @user-pr3oc6pr2g 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MostlyPeacefulNinjathat definitely has to be the most embarrassing way to lose a fight it's basically like quitting. Not being able to pull the trigger because you're out of shape is inexcusable

    What you said in this video is freaking real coach! Just want to ask you two things:
    First one is: how do you exhale when you’re sparring if you don’t know that you’re holding you’re breath? I mean sometimes i do it sometimes i don’t and when i don’t i don’t even know that i’m holding my breath
    Second one: how to get loose when sparring or hitting the mitts?i always get tense and i cant get away from this bad habit…
    Btw great video as always! Thanks for sharing

    It sounds stupid forgetting to breath, because you breath naturally without thinking about it, but I've been in that position of holding my breath without realising, it's weird having to train to remember to breathe.
