I made homemade chicken and dumplings yesterday, they were delicious!!! Cooked enough chicken breasts for chicken salad today, my sister cut up purple onion and celery in the shredded chicken, put in the refrigerator and today I boiled some eggs, added mashed eggs, mayo, salt, pepper and sweet pickle relish to it and mixed all together for sandwiches, was so good!!!!❤❤❤
They were delicious I’m sure! I totally agree that Hudson cream self rising flour is the best. She is a good soul. I enjoy watching her. As someone from the southern mountains she is what we call everyone’s mamaw! Because she loves everyone she knows and her church. God bless y’all 🙏🏻❤️
I am so happy to find this channel. It's so wonderful that you are recording your Mamaw cooking. I am older and both of my Grandmothers passed on and went to heaven some time ago. Your Mamaw looks just like my great "Ama", she wore the same kind of dresses, and had her hair clipped up just like that. Most if not all of my family is still in Mexico so I never got a chance to grow up with my grandparents. Your Mawmaw is sweet, and I like watching her. Thanks for making the videos. My "recipe" for Chicken & Dumplings is very similar. I use whatever boneless, skin-on chicken pieces are on sale. I also put a lot of 1-inch chunks of carrots, celery and onions in the broth after I take the chicken out - it's more like a "chicken stew". Let those cook about 15-20 minutes before making the dumpling dough. Add the shredded chicken to the pot, and drop the dumplings last. They'll all finish cooking at the same time.

I love you tube channels like this. Old fashioned recipes no frills and most importantly budget friendly that helps for today's food costs . Love it not 50 ingredients for one dish you guys are great.
I agree with you. Just basic ingredients. No extra seasonings or vegetables, because that changes the whole dish to something other than chicken and dumplings. I always made drop dumplings too. Some people like the rolled out, cut into squares dumplings, so they say. But they have never turned down a dish with fluffy, tasty dumplings!

I never knew about the strip Dumplings until I saw Cooking with Brenda Gantt from Alabama. Always had dropped biscuit dough. I wished I watched my Aunt and Mom how they made Chicken and Dumplings. It's my favorite. They both added carrots and peas.

Lol I started taking notes and then stopped cause it's so easy just to put this video on while I make it. I've never made good chicken and dumplings and I'm excited to try Mamaws version. Like I said in a previous video I wear gowns most of the time and barefoot too! I'd prefer dresses, I just can't find any. July 24, 2020 366 years old as of today the time is 430. I have not had chicken and dumplings since my mom died several years ago and I have never made them on my own. I appreciate your video mama. I’m making them today for my children they’re young adults. We share a home my two youngest sons and I, so thank you. I’m looking forward to looking up some more of your recipes now that I know you around and thanks to your son to helping you to do this.
I made a mistake on my first comment. The date is July 24, 2023. I’ve been on this earth 66 years as of today. I appreciate your video mama and thanks to your son also for helping you to make it like I said this is my first time making chicken and dumplings for my two youngest adult sons. We share a home, I’ve never made them homemade chicken and dumplings. I haven’t had them since my mother died several years ago so again, thank you and love.

I live in North Florida as a Yankee transplant, and I was hanging out with a friend of mine from up north one day, and we could not find chicken and dumplings to save our soul!!!! it was a really dreary day rainy gray cloudy, and all we wanted was to chicken and dumpling somewhere somewhere and it was totally impossible!!!!!! and we never even thought to try and make it because we thought it was too complicated so thank you❤️❤️❤️

Yes, very similar to the way I make it. I don't cook the whole chicken and debone it like my momma did. She went to Bisquick mix and I have better luck with Jiffy mix. 😂 I cook it for 15 minutes with no lid and 15 minutes with a lid. I also add veggies sometimes and sometimes I just add celery, onion and carrots. It just depends on the mood and what I have on hand. 😋😍. God bless from Michigan 🙌🙏

Ah Corey! So glad you are filming your Mamaw cooking her recipes. A lot of what she makes are good old dishes that the younger generation does not know how to prepare. You cannot learn the technique of chicken and dumplings from a cookbook.

Love your maw maw! She reminds me of my beloved granny maw.. the way she talks down to the apron and dresses.. she also made her own.. July 24, 2020 366 years old as of today the time is 430. I have not had chicken and dumplings since my mom died several years ago and I have never made them on my own. I appreciate your video mama. I’m making them today for my children they’re young adults. We share a home my two youngest sons and I, so thank you. I’m looking forward to looking up some more of your recipes now that I know you around and thanks to your son to helping you to do this.
I made a mistake on my first comment. The date is July 24, 2023. I’ve been on this earth 66 years as of today. I appreciate your video mama and thanks to your son also for helping you to make it like I said this is my first time making chicken and dumplings for my two youngest adult sons. We share a home, I’ve never made them homemade chicken and dumplings. I haven’t had them since my mother died several years ago so again, thank you and love.

I live in North Florida as a Yankee transplant, and I was hanging out with a friend of mine from up north one day, and we could not find chicken and dumplings to save our soul!!!! it was a really dreary day rainy gray cloudy, and all we wanted was to chicken and dumpling somewhere somewhere and it was totally impossible!!!!!! and we never even thought to try and make it because we thought it was too complicated so thank you❤️❤️❤️

This is exactly how I make mine. I’m right up the road in PA. I made it for my hubby’s big family and they went crazy for it. Comforting and good. Makes me feel good I do like MawMaw.

Yes, very similar to the way I make it. I don't cook the whole chicken and debone it like my momma did. She went to Bisquick mix and I have better luck with Jiffy mix. 😂 I cook it for 15 minutes with no lid and 15 minutes with a lid. I also add veggies sometimes and sometimes I just add celery, onion and carrots. It just depends on the mood and what I have on hand. 😋😍. God bless from Michigan 🙌🙏

Ah Corey! So glad you are filming your Mamaw cooking her recipes. A lot of what she makes are good old dishes that the younger generation does not know how to prepare. You cannot learn the technique of chicken and dumplings from a cookbook.
