New to NFTs (just released, literally hours ago, my first collection) I can really relate! I've watched tons of NFTs videos in the last few days to get the lay of the land, and this is by far one of the best ones. Keep up the good work!
@@blockchainpolly8536 Thanks to you for sharing your experience & knowledge! BTW, for those who don't understand the appeal of a "Jpeg file" (NTF), think about it this way: in the "old days" one of the visually striking, (IMHO) best, and high end ways of showing your work was to use a giant transparency mounted on a light box. It was cumbersome and really expensive. Now you can get almost the same result with a 4k or higher display and as much NTFs as you want... Good luck to you as well for your adventure in NTF-land!
Great vide Polly. Really informative. That last part had me. Love the emotion you showed - you see the passion you have for your work. Best of luck going forward.
You can't even imagine how happy it makes me to read this comment. I'm glad you found some information useful, if you do have any Qs feel free to reach out on twitter, I'll be happy to chat. Re the last part- yeahs selling my own vision, my art is something I'm not used to and when someone actually connect's with it - is beyond amazing!
Thinking about getting into turning a few pics of mine into nfts, one main question I have is, what about property releases, model releases etc etc. For example I have a few wildlife pics I took in Kruger South Africa. Do we need those for wildlife and landscape photography?
Wow, thank you so much for this video! It was nice to see other kind of (very useful) information that I haven’t found in other videos. It gave me chills when you said you would like other people to know how it feels to see someone is connecting with your work and buys it, cause that’s exactly that I would like to feel. I’m just starting on the NFTs world so I would love to see future videos from you!
Way to go Polly!! I've been absorbing all the NFT info I can get my hands on and loved this video you made. I love how much you appreciate your collector's purchase at the end. It's a very real and justified emotion as so many people have no idea how hard it is to gain acceptance and support for this work. I'm in the process of moving and redoing my photography website. NFTs have ignited the fuel in me to get this done and start minting and posting some of my work. Already looking into Twitter more which actually comes at a good time because FB/Instagram has become dry and lame in comparison. I've been shooting seriously since 2005, traveling FT to shoot since 2016, I have a solid track record of persistence but have yet to find the patronage to only shoot fulltime. I keep having to fall back into the "work at something else for food" routine which kills my momentum and creative flow. I don't need a lot to live so I'm hoping that NFTs may help me get back to creating, shooting and traveling, rinse and repeat. You video gave me hope. Thank you for sharing.
I second all you said here! Having someone connect with your work/artistic vision is an insanely fulfilling emotion. I found a very loving photography community in the nft space and hearing everyones stories of hurdle & hustle makes me feel that I’m not alone. Abs for alone I’m very grateful. Pop on Twitter and check out some spaces and see if you like the flow. Let me know if you want me to share any community builders there to follow to ease you in. X
@@blockchainpolly8536 Any suggestions about marketing "animations" as NFT artworks? I am transforming live video-recordings into short animations. Thanks in advance.
I really enjoyed this video. I found alot of value in your knowledge and your journey. Also, your videos are really high production quailty, and your photography is mint. You were clearly ment to have a camera in your hands.
This is exactly what I came for. Giving me a first glimpse of what it means to become an NFT artist. I am just now entering the whole space. Im really much a facebook guy so this is super new to me, and way more confusing that open sea. BTW very informative video!
Hey, there aren't any rules on how to use Twitter tbh. There aren't any NFT photography groups per se but there are NFT builders that you can start following and take it from there. Majority of the collectors are also on Twitter, once you join and start spending more time in this space you will start getting a hang of it. I agree it is a pretty turbulent and fast moving space. I would recommend spending some time on twitter to see whether you like it before minting anything. Reach out to me on twitter and I can drop you some names to kick you off!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey! All the feelings and emotions you described is exactly how I'm feeling with trying to go about starting my own NFT project. If I want to create and sell a unique original picture, I take my 11x14 inch large format camera and do a direct positive paper or a wet- or dry-plate image. To me this is just something real and tangible, not just some bits and bytes and Zeros and Ones I cannot see at all without any technical gear and electricity. I'm rather into producing and selling things than ephemeral and invisible information, stored somewhere in an imaginary cloud. Just my two cents. I worked two decades in IT security and I've learned to not trust that data will ever have a lifetime as things do have. I won't invest time and money in that. But if you happy with it and it in fact turns out to be worth your time and effort, good for you!
I would add something to your comment... What is really original? When you convert a photo into an NFT, who validates who is the creator of the work. Where is the copyright? NFT is at the end a file, so if I upload the same photo as jpg and another as png, I have two originals? Some concepts are good but others are bad.
Hello, love your vid. I'm looking to start selling on OpenSea and wondering, is the fee for initializing your account literally the only fee I'll pay? What about approval fees? I'm only looking to sell for fixed price, thanks!
Thanks Maros. Yes you will only pay once on Open Sea and you will have an option to set a fixed price when you put your work for sale. Remember when you list your pieces on open sea you don’t mint your work on blockchain yet, it only happens when another person buys your piece.
@@blockchainpolly8536 Thanks. I'd like to ask additionally, how do you achieve your photos in a given collection to be in order? I mean, they're all mixed up even though I uploaded them in order and named them with numbers in order.
