I used to night ski here when I was in school at UM in the mid 90's. They would have a band playing in the lodge. It was a great time! So sad they don't get enough snow anymore.
Note: you don’t mention until 3 minutes in that this is near Missoula Montana. I would suggest giving a background of the geography of the area right at the start of the video…
I had never heard of this ski area before, but it looks like it was a fun little area. I would have loved to ski it back in the day! Thanks again for your videos highlighting these lesser known areas!
Marshall Mt is where I learned to ride in the 90s. I loved that mountain. I have scars from the school bus they buried in the terrain park. Family season passes in the final year came with your name on one of the triple chairs. I wonder where our name is now. Great video!
The story about Marshall as a ski area is certainly correct, but it seems like you should have continued with the present: Marshall is now a fantastic mountain biking park. Lots of races, for both locals and national competitions. Classes on mountain biking. Really good set of trails from friendly green trails to tough black diamonds. Of course, the mountain is also open to hikers in any weather and skiers/snowboarders can run some laps if we get a decent winter.
Ok I love your work. I primarily watch Utube TV. I have subscribed and watch every video of yours the system suggests. I am thankful to watch all your videos. I have skid my whole life and am particularly interested in the triggering events that begin the death spiral of ski resorts. We buy several different ski passes for skiing Mt. Hood ski areas every year. One of these is dying. Ski Bowl. It's sad but the last 5 years have been horrible for them. To the point. We AT ski as well. With your videos we will be able to go to these closed ski areas and ski tour with our RV. I think that the industry as a whole is at risk here in the US as two or three paper companies gain more control over resorts which they own no hard assets and have no skin in the game. I digress. Love your work. Change nothing. I will continue to enjoy your offerings.

It's open for backcountry skiing and mountain biking. A new life without the lifts!
Can i suggest your next video? Yodelin near Stevens pass WA. I've always wondered the history of that place.
Never found a picture of it in operation, but it would be an interesting video.

I really appreciate your comment! Hopefully Mt. Hood Skibowl can survive, though I agree, the past few years haven't been very kind to them.
I learned to ski at Marshall Mt. in 1975. Sorry it’s gone. It filled a niche with the locals.
3:36 is this another lost ski area, or is it what Montana snowbowl used to be called?
It’s what Montana Snowbowl was called before a big rebrand
Two totally different mountains. Snowbowl is West of Missoula. Marshall was on the east side. Fun place. Rode it in the 90's.
Can you do big thunder or candy mtn pls
