She's so articulate and insightful, she's one of the only celebrities who actually seems to have intellectual depth when she speaks. My new queen. If she doesn't get the Oscar I'll be so disappointed.
Brie Larson is a god's actor. It is a gift to watch her two lead performances Short Term 12 and Room such emotionally wrenching performances and it really shocks me that she is just 26
Ah, Brie is such a QUEEN! She can be super funny and I'm only a couple of minutes into this interview. For obvious reasons she was not allowed to be funny when she did all these interviews for "Room". But please let this woman talk, she's so full of life and I can listen to her talk for hours. Such has such a warm personality and a depth to her words and she has unique views. I'm so happy that Brie's career is still alive and kicking in 2023 and that The Marvels will be broadcast soon! Looking forward to that.
Fun fact Meghan Park filmed a scene with Bri Larson in Room. The scene is Park playing Joy's friend Laura. Director Lenny Abrahmsen felt that it did not flow with the time continuity of the movie, so it was a deleted scene. If you think about it, I can see why he cut it. There is that scene where Joy is looking at her old high school pictures with Jack before she was abducted.
God what a great interview and of course I loved the movie, but to hear Brie talk about her experience making it is even making it deeper as a movie and as the book was. She certainly does her homework and that’s what makes her such a pro, and she was absolutely deserving of all the best actress awards she won which were many! I think of her as a young Meryl Streep, who also has a great intelligence and such a sense of humor and still is so professional to make really unique roles come along.
Bri is fascinating and seems to in touch with who she is. Loved how in-depth this interview was and learning more about her method acting process for Room. Props to her for that because I can't even fathom the levels of depression and darkness you could get to method acting for a movie like this. Also that bit about women being sexualized in Hollywood is so true and it needs to STOP. I'm so with her on that!!!!
I don't want to see a sequel to this great film but if you really think about it, there are a lot of unanswered questions about Ma and Jack. In the book we do see how Jack has difficulty in the real world. He doesn't understand the concept of paying for items you buy at a store. When Paul, his wife and his daughter take Jack to the store he puts the books into his Dora backpack. The unanswered questions to a sequel to Room would be Whatever happens to Joy? Does she go back to school? Is she able to have a relationship with a man after her encounter with Old Nick? I guess in the sequel, in the beginning we would see her confront Old Nick in court. What was Joy's life before Room? In the movie we know she was in high school and ran track. Do Ma and Jack leave America and live in another country to escape the rabid media frenzy of their escape? It's sort of hinted at in the book where Jack reads Ma's journal and it reads: visit another country. Whatever happens to Old Nick? Does he get life in prison or a reduced sentence? Does Joy ever reconcile with her father? If you wrote a sequel to Room I would title it World because that's what Joy Ma and Jack are a part of now.
I quite honestly don't understand all the hate directed towards Bri Larson. I think it all started when she was doing the interviews for Avengers Endgame and it was probably a personality clash between her and Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, and Chris Hemsworth. I think the media created it out of sheer jealousy or looking to create unnecessary hype. I think she is brilliant, insightful, and created a masterpiece of acting in Room. Happy for her she won the Oscar for Room it was well deserved..
You described the situation very well. I think the term "personality clash" was the problem. Brie is introverted, not used to this much attention, then she has to sit next to these Marvel heaveyweights and media pros and men, something she had never done before since she had only played a handful of leads in her life, really 5 movies where she was the lead and that's it. So the focus never was on her. Short Term 12 was a small movie, Room as well and nobody bothered to do press for Basmati Blues. Unicorn Store was a small quirky movie directed by her before she became Captain Marvel and then Captain Marvel of course but that is her project, where she is the star. Brie was the new kid, she isn't the best social interactor and Cheadle and Renner maybe are not so open or misunderstand Brie as a person. Brie was expected to be cool and tough and funny whlie she had to appear tough and say "I'm the strongest superhero" and then many Marvel fans got pissed and other leeches try to profit from the Brie Larson hate train. Brie had a couple of unfortunate interviews going viral. The one where she was squeezed between Hemsworth and Cheadle and still we cannot be 100% sure if these actors were just poking fun or if there was some serious tention. Viewers assume that there was tention. Then the interview with Renner, which is awkward to watch. Then Brie's famous Diversity Speech, which had good intention but Brie'e execution and wording were problematic. Then you have the comedic Wired Autocomplete interview where many viewers believed that Brie was really being herself when she was just acting like a arrogant diva for comedic purpose. From my point of view it makes sense to make fun of this interview. The only explanation that I find reasonable is that Brie and probably her team decided to do things the way they did to make the internet explode and that meant more attention for Captain Marvel and Brie. Rather be considered controversial than boring. I admire Brie for almost everything she does because she got rejected so often, didn't have the easy life growing up and then she got tons of hate for just doing her thing.
She's so articulate and insightful, she's one of the only celebrities who actually seems to have intellectual depth when she speaks. My new queen. If she doesn't get the Oscar I'll be so disappointed.
well said
she,Cate B and Tilda are such women

Brie is so intelligent and inspiring~ Room is also my fav film of the year
18:40 I get the answer why rescue scene is the most powerful scene in film history
That story from 17:08 - 20:30 about filming the reunion scene was a great one!
Her performances in short term 12 and room and one of the all-time greats and so are the films
Brie Larson is a god's actor. It is a gift to watch her two lead performances Short Term 12 and Room such emotionally wrenching performances and it really shocks me that she is just 26
brie is just the best person on this planet and deserves every happiness in her life
She is so interesting to hear...mature, intelligent, funny and she has so much depth and understanding...cant wait to watch her as captain marvel
I love how she answers small questions in an extremely interesting, articulate and really long monologue

I like the mic drop at the end, lol.
I just keep falling in love with her again and again, first with her movies and then her insightful interviews
Brie is such an astounding talent, she deserves to be of the most successful and admired artists around, she's so intelligent and articulate, love her

This just explains how great Brie larson is as an actor. She really got into the skin of the character. Truly deserved the oscar
She’s absolutely brilliant and a great role model. Thank you for sharing this interview, I always learn something new from her.
'I just don't get it. I just saw you five minutes ago and I don't understand why you're so surprised to see me right now'. I love kids. Hahaha.
Haha yeah...that was the most purest response 😁
I love children and their innocence of the world. I would give anything to go back to being a kid!
her and jacob is such a cute duo 🥰🥰
This is the only interview I’ve watched from beginning to end. Brie is so insightful and so inspiring.
She is amazing.
she is so gorgeous and down to earth
