Any chance you will be posting a video of the setup for the Dji RS2 with the Edelkrone JibOne. I’m interested in how you got that to work and would love to see a test if possible. Great video. Cheers
Hey Dan, great video. I was just wondering how you mounted the DJI RS2 onto the JibOne? I have both and was wondering what your experience was with weight limits and if you disconnected the battery grip or not? Cheers, James
Hi Dan, thanks. How can I have let´s say 3 positions with the jib and HeadPlus and the PanPro with out pausing? I want a smooth movement from one position to the next. Even if I put the transition speed on 100 % it still pauses. Thanks.
I 1st saw your video about 1.5 years ago and still think about your video when thinking about buying this setup. I keep wondering if the Jibv2 fixed this jittering issues that your referred to in this video. Have you updated any of your setup since you made this video
I guess Ill ask again for everyone that asked this before. Do you have any video of the RS2 or RS3 on the edelkrone JibOne? Seems like a better combo since you can double use the Ronin.
Dan, this video is so helpful. I’m going to be reviewing the whole video again, because I need the software (Sling Studio) and OBS with auto switching each of the cameras as well. I’m going to need a Jib One and Pan Pro or two so that I can do live streams of me performing live music. It’ll be just me working on the production in my room at home, but it will look like a pro production. Someday I would love to get the motion control (MRMC) from the company you were in! Absolutely amazing. You are awesome Dan. Thanks!
Thanks, Dude. Saw your channel. Great stuff. You have a great eye! Sling is a great solution but support is non-existent and they are hard to come by. You may want to go with Black Magic - unless you are doing a lot of remote work that needs battery and you don't have power as all of the stuff with Sling can be wireless and battery. Yeah, MRMC is just awesome. What great stuff. One day we will be able to afford that. It's coming for both of us if we just stay the line and keep getting better. The money will follow.
Yeah, will do. On music, I have been using Epidemic Sound (monthly unlimited) and am very happy. I'm also learning to create my own so my clients can use the music as well without license.
Hey bro, thanks so much for the compliments. I really appreciate your helpful hints as well. I still haven’t purchased anything as I wanted to fully evaluate what’s the best solution and how much money and energy I want to invest into being able to live stream myself. I feel like having two or three moving cameras would really keep it interesting... Yes one day we we’ll be able to afford the MRMC kinda gear! Yes, it’s coming for both of us if we just stay the line and keep getting better. The money will follow. I love it. Thanks again for all the information and inspiration. Hope to continue to stay in touch man.
Awesome show case Dan, the best I have seen so far. Would you mind adding the links of the gears you are using ? Also I did not understand how you are automating the transition between cameras. Is that OBS command or stream deck or other device/software?
Thanks, Brother. I will post links when I have a bit more time. Pretty busy with filming. The automated transitions are part of SlingStudio as an auto switch setting in the app. I can set the time on each camera, and then if I want a dissolve or hard cut. Great system but hard to come by right now and support is lacking. I haven't needed support but just saying... I can also change the camera views manually and can do so with a hot key on the keyboard or I can use my StreamDeck on my desk which has those hot keys mapped to the buttons for ease. I mostly use the auto switch function so I don't need to sit here and press buttons. I don't get the exact transition times I want, but because SlingStudio is recording all feeds I can go in afterward in post and load all feeds and choose which feeds in what places in my editing software. Again, I don't bother as my workflow is "record, export, dump, edit, post" and more focused on quantity that perfect quality. Hope that helps.
@@danbrown2430 thanks Dan, if you are OBS user, try advanced scene transition plugin. This will allow you to transition automatically between scenes, create scene loop, and dictate the transition time etc. thus is useful for streaming. Here is the link on how it is done: th-cam.com/video/lTQbudzu5JY/w-d-xo.html
I can see that your Head Plus isn't plumb. That knurled shaft looks like it's pointing down slightly which would make the camera lean both left and right at the opposite ends of the swing
Yeah, I played with this. There is no adjusting it. Don't know what else to do. It's dead-on when not extended. Don't know what to do. Will be in contact with Edelkrone on this.
Since you are just running a small mirrorless in that setup, try inverting your HeadPlus at the end of the JibOne. That's how I run my same setup. Then small adjustments to the HeadPlus and should be able to dial it in no prob. (Plus, IMHO it looks cooler inverted at the end of the jib, lol)
@@danbrown2430 There is a way, I had the same problem, but there is this little screw in the base of the camera (there are two, but the bigger one is the one that makes that job) you just have to loose it a little and make some push up to the base, well in your case i believe you just have to thight that screw, under the base you will see that while you are adjustig (tighting the screw) the base it's going up because the screw is touching another screw.
Hello from France. Quite an impressive automated TV studio you built there. Could you please share some full shots showing starts and ends movements with the Jibone? What about those micro jitters? Your set up is pretty cool. Stay safe.
Thanks, Benoit. I'll try and get more shots. On the ends is the smoothest. That said, it is certainly getting what one is paying for. Not like the quality of the mrmoco.com stuff, but not the price either.
Setup the exact same setup for my video conferencing. Up until the pan pro came out, I was manually panning the JibOne/HeadPlus. I've also tried both Moza Air 2 and DJI Ronin S, and prefer the HeadPlus. Also using StreamDeck and ATEM and then through OBS. On your adjustments, it takes a while to dial in the HeadPlus and JibOne. Suggestion: try hanging your HeadPlus upside down from the JibOne, it helps (since you are just running a mirrorless in it anyway, you don't care about headroom over the camera.. Interested in what audio solution you went with (looks like your lighting is Apurture based? I went MARS 300 Pro Enhanced. Suggestion to set up a 10-16" teleprompter with a 10-16" monitor (that flips horizontally). Now get some cheap HDMI splitters and a cheap HDMI switcher to change what feeds you send to that teleprompter displaysplitter to let you choose what you see in the teleprompter. Do it right and you can always keep eye contact through your main camera yet see your displays, read from script, check your camera feeds (for focus, exposure, framing), etc all while never loosing eye contact
Wow. Great advice. Thanks! I'll give that a try on running inverted with the head. On my lighting, I went with LED panels but put diffusers on them. Makes a world of difference and allowed me to go budget. I have a teleprompter with an ipad and I shoot it over from my Mac. Love it. I'm so close I can see my eyes moving but rarely does my audience. ;-)
Yeah. I'm going to contact Edelkrone and see what their fix is. I've heard people with no problems with heavier rigs and people with more problems with lighter rigs. Has to be in the setup or possibly inconsistency in their build quality. We will see what they say...
@@danbrown2430 this is some of the responds that Ive got from Edelkrone. We are using micro-step-controllers to run step motors. "Since we are driving motors with micro level steps, when a transition is completed, and motor is stopped, these micro level steps are being released by the motor backwards to the actual step. So, you will hear and notice that slight step backs while motor is not engaged". they told me that cutting the 1 second from beginning and the end of the footage will fix the problem, but then I will not be able to use this in some of the scenes...
It's on the way. I am impressed with their customer service and they have spent a lot of time helping me better understand the system, get the settings right and I look forward to the replacement PanPro solving the rest of what is happening.
Well done Dan. You deserve a sub! 🥂 I just bought the Jibone + Headplus + Pan Pro durinf BF but the shipping time is slow. They will only start shipping out mid-week so I should have it by next week and see if I run into the same micro jitters. Would love to see you do a setup video as well as how well the Ronin RS2 performs on Jibone.
ive got the Panpro...but I was not too happy with it. Once the pan reach the subject, the motor will make some sound and it release the gear so there will a little shake, so you wont be able to use the shots if your moving into a subject and continue the shoot without changing the scene.
Awesome! Thanks. I think it's worth the wait. Again, I've worked with high-end stuff so I have some high expectancies, but the head alone from MRMC was about $25K. I'm in this system for pennies in comparison so I have to factor that in. One day I will be able to order from MRMC! I'll put the rig on the jib and do a video. I'll play with it. The tracking wasn't consistent and that was frustrating. My head would go out of frame - but it would track my body. I've put a different lens on now. Will see what happens and record it.
Yes. You have an HDMI out from the sling studio and it outputs the video source(s) and audio source(s) you choose. I take that as a live output and send that to a monitor next to the camera so you I can see what view is being seen. That could be being recorded on the Atmos.

I have NO issuses with the HeadPlus. But I will work to get that "pulse" away from the JibOne so it goes total smooth if posible. ( the problem is most when the JibOne goes from down to up. The other way goes more smooth. If there is no moment in the frame I take clip in both direction and rev. the clip if needed. I sometime luckey to light put a finger on the JibOne when it start and after few sek. remove the finger and that can do the job so no "pulsing" movment.
Nice. Yeah, sounds like you have more experience with this and I'm still finding my feet here. I similarly like to take the best of the footage, but sometimes when live that's not an option. I also like to shoot "one and done" and just take the feed with the switching built in with the SlingStudio so I don't have much editing to do. Time is a rare commodity! Thanks for all the feedback!
Great, Thanks for your Top presentation...✌
To my untrained eye, I like how you look through the jib camera (WB and Exposure) than your main and side cameras. Thanks for showing your setup.
