No comments? Rly !? All right, this guy right here shines with love and passion. When he plays his guitar the sounds coming out of it are healing my soul.
This song slays me. Blake is clearly identified for his astounding guitar playing and off the charts musicality but,, seriously find me a better set of lyrics than this is a contemporary song. All killer no filler.
Here's what I hear.... -Joni Mitchell guitar playing, Ry Cooder, David Lindley, and Dwight Yoakum. Blake is brilliant to have combined all of these influences into one seamless approach.
The song could have been a HUGE hit, covered by legions of artists, who likely love it for the same reasons I do, but for the lyrics of the bridge that cross the line as far as radio and streaming play. Did Blake F up? Nah, what makes the song so great, beyond the melody and unbelievably catchy chord pattern, is its honesty. Can you think of another song that conveys shame so deeply? But crazy that something you'd want to play on a stage so so badly would get you uninvited back.

long finger bro :) , unique sound, just impressively guitarist, the heir Cooder
probably hits too close to home for most people!!!
it feels good to hear it, but you dont want to admit it's about you.
what tuning is this in? its like a little different than standard. does anyone know?
i think you tune the top E up to an F and the B down to Bb
4 years later haha but I watched an interview were he explains he tunes his guitar to open C# same intervals as Open E or D just lowered down.
