That last song in particular I've heard him play on a few strats and each time is a unique take and each time he absolutely slays!!! 8:55 anyone know the original?
Hate to admit it but … I always loved song #2, Someone That I Used To Know. Now I love it more because Lemmo just took it somewhere else. And I once bought an identical ‘79 Strat for $400. Gone are those days. Lovely Strat and as always, a super demo.
Geeez Michael as soon as you start playing I'll just stop whatever I'm doing and drop my jaw for a while. Always inspiring, thanks so much for doing this! Love from Sweden
Such exceptional sense of rhythm. There are two things proven here - that 70s CBS 3-bolts can be great guitars (just listen to it!), and that the Fender Deluxe Tone Master has changed everything we used to believe to be true about solid state.
Have the same 79 strat. Had it since mid 80's. However mine is a crossover, date stamp neck body 1979. Pickup harness is 1980 with the hotter bridge Pickup. Great guitar, Lemo does not disappoint.
"Found Out About Youuuuuuu." I was Just playing that 2 days ago! '79 Black Stratocaster! One of our high school guitar legends named Darren had one of those. Amazing how certain things can bring back So many memories!!!
I think most of them were made of northern ash, which is a pretty heavy wood... But one of the most recognizable electric guitar was built with a northern ash body by someone called Mr. EVH...

I have a ‘79 hard tail in trans red w black pick guard. Cool guitar and I really like the pickups. Sounds a lot like this one. The owner of the shop was like ugh, You really want to buy that one?
Because people don't listen to his stuff... for instance: you like his playing, why don't you listen to his music yourself instead of asking other people?
I have a '79 in natural ash I bought new. Plays great with .008's. Cutaways are not as deep as most Strats. I understand that that was because Jackson and other guitars of the day had shallower cutaways. The guitar is Les Paul heavy due to the as used that year. Great guitar that doesn't get the respect it deserves.
Yes. Don't want sound disrespectful in any way (I'm sure he can shred if he wanted to) but a lot of the stuff he plays is fairly simple but he plays it with such finese and feel, he is a master.
Does that jam one bridge/middle have a name? Lemmo is so good. I wish I could play even half as well. I also wish I had the spare cash to splurge on this guitar.
Imho the ‘68 style black with gold outline transition is the best looking headstock logo by far. Glad my Strat has it, not a fan of the silver spaghetti they use now.
They have a bad rep. but the strange thing is that whenever I hear one, especially the '79s, it's the best Strat tone I've ever heard! At half the price of a Custom Shop, these things are THE Strat bargain atm. IMHO.
I have, admittedly, taken a couple weeks off of watching GOtD. Let me tell you, Michael’s playing and Jen’s filmography are off the chains compared to what I remember. This is something special people.
@@jahkristjanfari You are correct. I forgot about that something for charity. I think Clapton did something similar too. I like the guitar as well but not that much!
I had a ‘79 years ago, wish I hadn’t let it go but it was 9.5lbs but it sounded beasty. Even though there were issues with the bullet truss rods. Now I want to find another that’s lighter….
Total identical guitar when edge and U2 were on the barge playing Gloria the offical video and Streets Have No Name in Orange County. Also used in the Red Rocks concert. Edge used the strat more than the Gibson Explorer.
I’m taking crazy pills reading these comments - Lemmo is absolutely a fantastic player, this isn’t about him. This guitar wastes his talent. That guitar’s tone sounds absolutely terrible. One of the last *VINTAGE* Stratocasters ever made
I found out about yoooooouuuuuuu 🎶. Such a catchy tune and unexpected
Nice looking guitar.
One of my favorite guitar players Hughie Thomasson of the Outlaws played one like that.
Can’t get more rock and roll than a black 79 Strat!
These pickups sound so alive and natural.
Gin blossoms riff is cool. Keep jamming Lemo.
Just got a black ‘79 as my first vintage guitar. Feels great and the gray bottom pickups sound amazing. So many great sounds.
Really nice playing there Lemmo, I think that guitar really bonded with you - great sound!

Thnx Jen.
hi . I love the tune you played with both neck and middle pickup, it had a pumpkins' vibe, that's really cool !!!

My ‘79 is a boat anchor. Thicker body, thicker width on the headstock. Sounds great though!
Work of art
Awesome playing and showcasing what that could do!!! 💪👏
