Alright, it's probably a bit over the top with the sharks 😆, but come on, nobody does epic morality tales like Ridley Scott. I certainly will go and watch Gladiator II.
As much as I like Gladiator and the themes of an empire in decline, I don't think that a straight sequel was the best choice. Gladiator showed the cracks within the empire but a movie set during the third century crisis would have effectively showed how far the empire has fallen with three dynasties fighting for control and the endless rebellions and invasions putting Rome to it's limit. I just think Gladiator is going to repeat the same theme as the original. Also, jumping the shark moment for historical movies.
I like how you make a fun from Rhino. But overall - you’re just some historian putting down scene many people will love.. good luck with that. Thank god we have people who create movies and not just people making fun.. yes it is impressive to see rhino in arena believe or not
This will indeed be interesting to say the least. I am curious as to how they will link it to the previous given its only 6 years after the last one (apx. 198 AD) given the two emperors. I mean if Ridley is aware of the timeline? I mean after the sharks....really? However, I am curious as to how they will portray Caracalla, especially given that one of the his key reforms was extending Roman citizenship to "all free men" in the empire.

Agree that despite some of the exaggerated scenes, that it will likely be a fun and entertaining movie, especially on the big screen!
