Ely is a great artist. Kung hihimayin nyo lang yung message ng mga sinulat nyang kanta, kala nyo yun na yon but there's always a reason behind those songs. Mga kantang puno ng kwento. Ely is an icon and a legend, the Eheads as well. Tipong pag pinagsama sama utak nilang apat, maganda tlaga kalalabasan. Blessed you four, Heads. ♥️
Indeed. Halos lahat ng Eheads song may twist sa dulo. For me Lightyears and Poor man's grave is Ely's masterpiece!

Sad to know na ang Eraserheads evolved into being a brand more than a band. Siguro noong nagsisimula pa lang sila, masaya silang lahat at close. But as time went by, naging about work na lang siya, to produce songs para sa recording label nila. Mas naiintindihan ko na rin yung sinabi ni Ely na di talaga sila magkakaibigan. More like work friends lang sila. Di sila tulad ng Parokya o Kamikazee na tropa talaga simala't sapul.
Tulad natin, pag napagod na tayo sa work natin and gusto natin ng new opportunity, we move on to a different job. Ganun din ginawa nila.

Sa linyang "mapapatawad mo ba ako, kung hindi ko sinunod ang gusto mo" malalim na ngpapahiwatig na malaki talaga ang pinag bago ng music style nila... tulad nga sa mga interview nila noon... experimental ang karamihan sa mga kanta nila... from classic pop na kantang pare ko, ligaya, magasin,,, malaki na ang pinag pabago ng style ng kanta nila... kung baga di na makasabay ang masa
Si Buddy talaga ang pinaka talented para sa akin musically, but Ely was the heart and soul of this band.
Even Ely himself will agree to your comment that Buddy is the most talented among the four. He said that on their MYX documentary.
I think you mixed this up, ely is talented musical wise while buddy is talented technically.

In a nutshell, Ely decided on a whim, taking into consideration how his "creative freedom" is constrained on his idea of keeping up with the pressure to produce the Eraserheads brand of music. Got it.

Ang sagot ni Ely ay parti na lng siguro ng Dahilan,pero mas may malalim na dahilan kasi umalis si Ely na hindi nagpaalam ng maayos...

Kung maayos naman kayo ng ka banda mo hindi dapat ganon ang pag exit.
What do you mean by "hindi nagpaalam ng maayos" ? Paano ba dapat sayo ang pagpaalam ng maayos? Ang tamang pag-exit sa banda? May experience ka na po ba sa pagbabanda? The members already saw it coming that he will eventually leave in the future. Rayms heard it from their road manager Julie na Ely is already tired. Kahit di na nila pormal na pag-usapan, the feeling was there. Paano nila naramdaman iyon? The time na pakiramdam nila the band is already on the verge of breaking apart from Natin99 to Carbon. The fact na hindi na sila nagrerecord sa iisang studio. They're just doing a home recording. Doon pa lang alam mong wala na yung spark. They just wanted to do their own thing already, individually. All of them admitted that especially Raimund. All of them have their own flashpoints during their time. Yung biglang hindi pagsipot ni Marcus sa studio, yung pagkakaroon ni Raimund ng sariling banda outside eheads, and so on. Their artistic differences. Buddy said that he was a mediator between the 4 of them. Sinubukan niyang ayusin ang bawat isa pero alam niya na na there's no point already. All of those things normally happen in every band relationship. Sabi nga ni Ely, "relationships are doomed to fail."
So paano mo nasabing hindi nagpaalam ng maayos? Dapat ba mag-iiyakan sila, magkaroon ng awkward conversation? Sa personality ng apat, hindi sila ganon. Ely is introvert, he rarely speaks himself as per Rayms. So why would you expect na dapat nagpaalam ng maayos? As long as yung exit, payapa at walang violent reaction na nangyari, maayos na exit iyon. It wasn't a bad breakup as what the 4 said. Walang bangayan o sigawan. Remember the text Ely sent to Marcus, "It's time to graduate" which all of them already expected especially Rayms. But nagalit ba sila? Nag-away ba sila after ng nangyari? Hindi di ba. As long as hindi sila nagbugbugan o nagsigawan sa isat-isa, graceful exit iyon. Atleast, their breakup is much better compared to Rivermaya and other bands. Tingnan mo ngayon, they're still performing all together because they have huge respect for their craft, their previous works, their musicality. Ely even posted sa ig about his healing after his "graduation" from his former band during their 2022 reunion concert. Unlike Rivermaya, ayaw ni Bamboo ng reunion. Doon pa lang, alam mo na mabigat yung nangyari sakanila. So, is the eraserheads breakup a bad breakup? The answer is no. It is bound to happen. Life happens. But despite of that, Buddy said na yung kwento ng Eheads, walang katapusan na pwede niyang maikwento sa magiging apo niya.

Di mo rin nasagot yung tanong ko na "ano ba dapat yung tamang pag-exit?" Sa sobrang haba ng comment ako, aware ako na hindi lahat ng punto ko ay naintindihan mo. Nagfocus ka lang sa sinabi ko na "so why would you expect na maayos ang pag exit" which is iba ang ibig kong sabihin. Hindi porke sinabi ko iyan ay ibig sabihin non ay pinapaboran ko yung sinabi mo na hindi siya maayos nag exit. Ely is not after opening a conversation na alam niyang there's no point of rekindling what was done. Spontaneous yung decision niya. It was a decision that didn't happen overnight. You didn't consider the other points na nilatag ko. Pinili mo lang yang part na iyan para magfit sa narrative mo haha. Yung pinaka-main question ko na "paano ba ang tamang pag-exit?" Sa tingin mo ba, yung malalalim na dahilan dapat may standard sa pag-exit? Consider the atmosphere, the situation, the mental impact bago mo buksan yung mga bagay na iniiwasan mo. Try mo lumihis sa usapin ng disbandment nila. Since nay connection naman ito sa relationship sa ibang tao either work, romantic, friends, classmates etc. Isipin mo yung isang tao na nasa abusive relationship or sabihin na nating ayaw na niya talaga sa pagsasama nila, do you think kailangan pa ng "maayos na exit" nong taong gustong kumawala sa relationship na iyon? Kailangan ba ng victim na magpaalam at kausapin ng maayos yung abuser, mag-heart to heart conversation and such? Yung simpleng pag-uusap na iyon, pwedeng magtrigger ng trauma at any level, especially if he/she desperately wants to cut any connection. Kahit nga sa breakup ng friendship, walang nagpapaalam or nageexit ng maayos. Kusa na lang silang nawawala at nagdidissolve. Walang breakup sa friendship na kailangan muna nilang pag-usapan ng masinsinan ang mga nangyari. Getting out in a certain situation that doesn't serve you anymore doesn't require any standard of exit. There's a lot of factors kung bakit hindi ka basta basta nagbubukas ng conversation. Kung hindi ka aware sa mga bagay na iyon, check your reality.
