Once again, a vid where the photo seems perfect at the beginning, and then Aaron shows me how much farther it can be taken. Love Phlearn! Thanks for all you do!
My technique I learned while taking print classes, is to change the image to CMYK (you need the black channel to make effective color corrections), never color correct in RGB. Bring up your info pallet (change to CMYK), Curves pallet next CMYK, use the eye dropper. I would start on the magenta in the image. Click on that magenta cast, you will see a dot show up on the curves line grab that with your cursor and move the line up or down, and you can see the percentage of what you are doing in the info pallet and visually in the image. Anyway, I’m not at my computer, so I can’t really be accurate at what I’m saying. This is all from memory in photoshop CS6. I might try and make a video on the proper way to color correct an image soon. But basically similar to your instructor in this video. Everyone have their own techniques. As we all know, in photoshop there are numerous ways to achieve the same results.
Hi Aaron, I have just discovered your videos, they are fantastic, thanks for sharing your knowledge! I love how when I click on different videos you have a completely different look haha. Your videos inspire me to want to learn more, so thank you again. 😁
When do you know when to use a levels adjustment vs color balance adjustment vs curves adjustments, vs color overlays, etc when trying to adjust color and lighting? It seems they all pretty much do the same thing with the correct settings selected. Is there a method to the madness or does it matter at all which method you choose?
This is such a great tutorial. Just like all your others!! Man I love Phlearn so much!! Why isn't this on the webpage though? How about a video on "tips to decide where to take an image"? This is my biggest issue. Much love from Australia
It´s all really cool and looks great, and very useful, but I still don't understand - if from the beginning the main problem was the white balance - why don't we just start from changing it instead of adding a pile of layers? And only when the white balance looks good, improve whatever else can be improved?
***** Welcome. And not one that I can really think of because you guys always produce the most important topics that seems to run through my mind. Uuummm...Maybe light painting a model and composite everything together in Photoshop.
Hi can you add the link to the photoshop 101 lessons you mentioned at the end of the video so I can find where to go on your website to get that page directly. Love your stuff
Great stuff! A question as regards making the yellow in the dress pop using the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer - any reason why you did not use the tool that looks like a pointing finger and just drag with it on the yellow of the dress? Perhaps you just prefer doing it a slightly different way.
Can you make a tutorial about party pac cause it's on 21 April and i think it's cool, interesting and fun ; As a stylish image that speaks of family celebrations Thanks you very much ***** you help me a lot i wish i can help you by this idea :D
Very good tutorial. However, when you desaturated the model's face, I feel as though you could extend that desaturation out to her arms as well. In the final image, the face looks a bit out of place to the rest of the picture because it doesn't seem to have a "pick up point". Either way, I'll definitely use some of the stuff you've taught here. Great work!
Can you do a tutorial on how to convert between different color profiles after the image has been edited? Sometimes, certain websites only accepts sRGB and they will turn images that are AdobeRGB into weird tones. Thanks!
hello my friend im from colombia and i have a question, why some photos like yours looks in the dark tones soften and not too contrast, and my photos is too blacks and contrasted , i use an nikon d7000 an a 50 mm lens
I understand those colors were more your style, Aaron and I think you are the man when it comes to PS but I was NOT jonesin on your final rendition of the image at all (colorwise). I prefer the original, even with the different skin tones. Or at least mask in the new skin tones. But thanks for all the great videos and education, Aaron. You are tha man! :)
Hi sir I just want to say that u r awesome. can you please show that how u setting up your Canon camera ( picture styles etc ) for photographing a wedding couple in natural light or in outdoor to get a nice skin tone
I’m very new to photoshop and considering getting it. Which one are you using as I’ve seen elements, cc? Or what’s the difference between the two? Thanks!
at 5:30 the box in the curves layer goes from white to black -- I have watched 5 times and I still can't figure out what is happening there??? please explain! thank you!
+Ashley Menchaca He explains in the video. Hit "Command + I" and it inverts the layer mask. That makes everything invisible on that layer. You can then use the Brush tool to paint white over the sections you want that effect to show up on.
Im trying to follow the steps... i lost in 5:34, when u say command + i... i dont know what happen. haha im a windows 7 user. so its hard for me to follow with your keyboard shortcuts. anyone who could help me... ill appreciate it. Thanks. :)
u have to click on the mask. with this shorcut u invert things. so u go from white to black on the mask. on a pc ist ctrl/strg +i. in short u make the mask invisible.
Blend if is such a powerful Feature. Like it!

Just realised that may have sounded stupid. by "take" I mean what direction to go with your editing once you've got your raw files.
Good video thanks
thanks master...
very awesome.

I just want to say that u r awesome.
can you please show that how u setting up your Canon camera ( picture styles etc ) for photographing a wedding couple in natural light or in outdoor to get a nice skin tone
I’m very new to photoshop and considering getting it. Which one are you using as I’ve seen elements, cc? Or what’s the difference between the two? Thanks!
We use Adobe Photoshop CC. Elements is a very tamed down version of Photoshop cc that does not have have nearly as in depth editing capabilities.
PHLEARN thank you! Guess it’s the cc version.
Awesome
yeahh thank you dear Aaron
hello Bro .. do u have tutorial Cinema 4D or not ? i really like your teach so much because u make lesson easy understand ...
I'm getting lost when you grab your color. You say to hit B for brush but I notice it goes to the eye dropper tool where you grab. Can you clarify?
Dustin Johnson when you are in the Brush Tool (B) you can sample colors by pressing and holding "alt", thats why you see the eyedropper tool
if i don't have twitter how else i can contact you with questions?

hey mr phlearn... i really admire your skill.. wish i could be a great photographer like you... can you please give me an inspiring reply? ^^
How to do colour correction and colour balance in a photo?
How to caliberate colors in monitor with printer, Photos printed in printer very different what we see in monitor
Even though it's nice to see how you can do it in Photoshop, I feel like this all could be done in Lightroom 5 way more easily and more intuitively...
Agreed.
Im trying to follow the steps... i lost in 5:34, when u say command + i... i dont know what happen. haha im a windows 7 user. so its hard for me to follow with your keyboard shortcuts. anyone who could help me... ill appreciate it. Thanks. :)
