    Hey guys n gals, I did take the pistol to the range and it ran flawlessly. The changes they made fixed the failure to feed and eject. Their customer service was top notch. I had it back in less than a week.
    I put 150 rounds through it, FMJ, then about 20 hollow points.
    Thanks !

    Great video.....and I will say I LIKE Ruger a lot. I had an issue with a Ruger 10-22 carbine many years ago. I took it back to the dealer and they were going to replace it on the spot but I said ( I called and spoke with Cust. Service) "I will wait for Ruger to fix my gun"... Ruger shipped me a brand new gun (mine was only about 10 days in my possession) and they sent me an extra utility sling for my trouble. They did say my gun's barrel was "not right from the factory" and they thanked me for sending it back and for calling the issue to their attention. I have stuck by Ruger and will continue to do so. I love the LCP II ..... got to have one. Thanks for the posting and happy shooting!

    I also had an issue with my LCP2, but my issue was the pin walking out. This occurred within the first 50 rounds I shot. No other issues, only the takedown pin walking out. I sent it back and they returned a new gun. I’ve now shot 400 rounds through the new LCP2, and no issues.
    They didn’t tell me why they replaced the gun, but after watching your video, I took mine apart to see how it looked compared to your updated replacement slide.
    Extractor looked identical to your new one, and I have 3 dots inside my slide.
    I didn’t pay attention to those details before on the first one, so not sure if it was different or not.
    Absolutely zero issues out of my new one, and thanks for the video. Nice job on the video, and taking care of your pops too. Good son😀👍

    I really appreciate Ruger customer service, too. I have had to send my LCP II in TWICE for repairs. The first time was because the pistol ejected the extractor while shooting at the range. I found the extractor spring and the extractor plunger amidst the sand and weeds at the range but never found the extractor itself (I looked for it on several different days at the range). I went through the procedures to send it to Ruger for repairs. It came back with a new slide assembly and a new barrel and 4 new problems not experience prior to the repair: (1) magazine would drop after every shot; (2) after racking the slide, it would fly forward when releasing the magazine; (3) no hold-open on last round half the time; (4) spent cartridges would fly over my head instead of to the right half the time. I am quite concerned about reliability in conjunction with self-defense. Again, customer service has been very courteous and concerned. I really do like the LCP II; just wish it worked.

    I just bought one yesterday and it looked good in the store. Got home and saw it under some different lights and the bluing is terrible and has a rust colored cast to it on the slide. The barrel hood looks good at first, but if you tilt it, part of it appears rust colored. I then noticed that the breech face had a nasty burr all around the firing pin hole with chips kinda smashed against the face from their test fire.
    I contacted Ruger within an hour of having it and they want it back at their factory for inspection. Im waiting until Monday to ship it so I can dry fire some more to break it in. Packages don't seem to move that much during shipping on the weekends.

    I bought one of these about a month ago, took it to the range, mag kept falling while firing. Went through about 100 rounds and about 50 of them resulted in the mag falling. I tried different grips, one handed two handed etc. and still had the problem occur. Contacted customer support, they said send it out. I sent it out, they said they fired 90 rounds through it and couldn't make it happen once. This leads me to believe that they know exactly what is causing the issue, a weak mag latch/spring and purposely shot it a certain way with that in mind so as not to replicate. They said they're sending it back and there's nothing they can do. I talked to the lady on the phone and said okay, so when I video tape this happening, and send it back again, then will you fix it because you and I both know what's wrong here. She said yes they would. That tells me right there they know exactly wtf is wrong but didn't want to address it.

    Hi Hi-Po is your upgraded lcp 2 still ejecting live rounds correctly? I'm just curious bc I just bought one and is not ejecting on 3rd and 4th rounds. Oh and mine has the correctly updated stamp position and just one machined dimple or dot underneath the slide.

    • @dpracing1
      @dpracing1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could possibly be the ammo you are using. Is the round getting stuck in the ejection port? I didn’t have any problems after it was updated by Ruger. Are you using the Ruger mag or aftermarket? Possibly a weak spring in the mag? Just some thoughts.
      If you’re in doubt, call Ruger, their customer service is 5 star. If there is a problem, they will find it and fix it.

      @@dpracing1 Hey! Thanks for getting back to me. Iv'e tried many different types of ammo. It's the original magazine from Ruger. I bought it yesterday from Cabela's. Their display model looked yours with the milled dots underneath the slide so I thought the one they sold me brand new would have them too. Come to find out mine only had one milled dot underneath the slide. I brought is back to them 5 hours later and they wouldn't exchange it. Guy told me just to shoot it and bring it back. IS this LCP II safe to carry? Does it have a hammer block or something equivalent. Is it drop safe?

    • @crominion6045
      @crominion6045 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hammer is cocked about 90% of the way when loaded, so the trigger pushes the hammer the rest of the way back then releases it. If the hammer is somehow jolted from its 90% cocked position while the trigger is not being pulled, there is a half-cock notch that will catch it before it can hit the firing pin.

      Yup. Me too. I need Lou Ferrigno to rack the fkr. Then had 4 or 5 miss feeds and jams through the first two mags. I'd been carrying it for 4 wks before I could get to the range. If I had gotten into a gunfight, I would be dead right now. Ok, some dink will ask why am I carrying a gun I've not tested at the range? I work, no time. Plus having been a combat engineer and fired everything the army has to offer up to our APC mounted ma deuce. And been shooting since birth - 53,, yrs old. I just figured if the time came I could handle the little bastard. If your going to make a gun specifically for personal self defense concealed carry I would think everything in hell and heaven would be done to make it reliable. Right ! Good job Ruger ! It should come with a warning " in case of a life or death emergency dont pull this out or you will certainly die. NOW GIT TO RUNNING FOREST "! I guess Kimber spoiled me - 45 acp w/5in barrel has never had a problem, not one. Except for the reason I bought this little POS. Shorts and a t-shirt days. The Kimber ( MAD LOVE ) well, I call her Bertha for a reason, she a little thick and heavy around the hips you know - for shorts. T-shirt, and bare feet days I just wanted something to put in my pocket and roll out. For the first time in my life I'm afraid of a gun, I'm afraid to carry that Ruger lpc 380. Donna - combat engineer ??? You caught that ? There are no females in 12" Bravo combat engineer mos. Why would they want to ? Donna is my mother, I'm using her tablet. I'm Paul her son - obviously. Well I'm off to find a time up kit for this little crapper, starting with the obvious - springs and trigger, followed by mad buffing the reef ramp.

    I purchased the LCP2 about a month ago and it ran fine through about 100 rounds but the last range trip was a disaster.
