That light brick shadow cast miniset is awesome. I didn't know what it was until you showed it off and it was instantly amazed at how awesome it was to look at.
I'd love to see more people do stuff like that - I feel it's a nearly untapped style of LEGO building. There's so much potential and I think the effect doesn't get old. It's fascinating to see how they mess of bricks in front becomes something beautiful

Hey Cheesey, I had this idea for a series you could try out, "parts highlight" or something along the lines of that, where you highlight interesting pieces in sets. I don't know how far this could go, but at least for the 90th anniversary castle there would be plenty, you could highlight the amount of helmets and weapons, the amount and variety of shields, interesting recolors. while writing I have another idea, "parts spotlight" it's different I promise. this series might go on for longer, where you highlight a specific part and the many interesting uses, I know how versatile some pieces can be. sorry for the long comment, they are just suggestions of course.

Brick World is my favorite lego convention there is so much to look at and a lot to do, it is a shame that she didn't get a award for that Lego dress! But its very cool you got some awards Glad to see that everyone had fun!

Fancy little items, love it didn't know things like this existed, I thought lego conventions were more like, you can view creations and maybe buy some snazzy Bricks and stuff, but didn't know trophys and things existed. Love that.
Not all shows have this side of it, but the ones that do are really special. Brickworld Chicago is definitely the most AFoL-oriented in the US, but I know Brickfair, Virginia, and plenty others have the nerdy convention elements which are all just great fun.

The fill-a-container-for-$ is just the best! It allows you to get exactly what you want for dirt cheap. Plus of course all the really weird rare stuff! Always a convention highlight xD
The bricks are not glued together, but the plaque itself is glued onto the bricks. Technically you could part out most of the trophies if you really needed... red basic bricks? It was actually quite useful that it wasn't glued as one of my plaques was incorrectly placed one year and I needed to move it up a bit to match the others, so I simply modified the trophy with my own parts and it was good to go!

Yeah, it's definitely all about the builds - the vendors are more of a supplemental treat. Vendor displays are capped at the show, and are by invite-only. Still probably more LEGO vendors than you'll ever see in one place anywhere else!
It was some time last year, yeah, a bit before the Kenobi trailer dropped and so of course the guy just viewed it as some generic Clone Wars figure and just needed some extra cash. At the time, he was worth about $25 and I was already elated. Then he quadrupled in value a few months later lol...

Assuming this is Brick Fest Live you're talking about, I wouldn't get too excited about the vendor presence there. In my experience with them they don't allow vendors but rather only have one store they run themselves that only sells currently in production kits, but marked up a few bucks 😬

She purchased some netted fabric instead! It's very similar to LEGO nets, but so much cheaper and easier to manipulate
