- MARC or the Maryland Area Regional Commuter service operates 3 commuter lines connecting many portions of the state of Maryland with the U.S. capital city Washington D. C. The commuter service primarily serves the region between Baltimore and Washington. In this video, we will look at the Brunswick and Penn lines as we see diesel and electric powered commuter trains running to and from Washington. All aboard!

I can't wait to start taking the MARC train to DC for work. It's gonna be fun. Great video shots :)
3:30 Good thing you caught the date you filmed it!
3:44 a single level train has a bi-level cab car, but most of the bi-level trains you caught had a single level cab car!
4:11 old caboose on display at right!
4:39 two single level cars on a bi-level train!
4:47 with two diesels!
5:40 two bi-level cars in a single level train!
6:12 gates kinda slow, people are starting to cross!
ewefr4re1RE2
Those people crossing the tracks early made me think, what if there was another train coming the other direction and the people couldn't see it because of the departing train. All of them would have gotten run over! People tend to show how stupid they are when you throw trains into the mix.
Marc always runnin some mix & matched equipment
MBTA does it more than MARC this year
Some of those single levels are redesigned to carry bikes
Caltrain in the San Francisco Bay Area has two different sets of bi-level cars but they never do that.
Nick the mbta doesn’t have a lot of multi levels so most northern trains have like 1 multi level

I love that sick sounding horn at 5:34.
Same very loud lol
@@baconhairalan202 That horn is called a C5A-CWP
@@thiagoknows3504what type of horn is used on the cabcars and I know the C5A horns are used on the MP36PH’s
Awesome video, I live near the Brunswick Line
I commute on Marc for fun on weekends to DC😃
Glad You enjoy The State of Maryland 👍 Cause I live in it
Like the NEC Train Action at Bowie
So cool i watch this when i was a kid i love train like
Marc , tri rail , sun rail , ns and amtrak
As always a great video. Thank you, Mike!
Thank you very much! Glad you like it!
I spoke too soon. It seems like they have a hodgepodge of single level AND bilevel cars.
They do. It appears that they are trying to phase out the single level cars and move to an all bilevel fleet, like MBTA in Boston is doing.
Good variety love the double decker coaches good sound effect the diesels look good good night views ( thanks)
Thanks for the comment!
we live next to parking garage of which most of this video was taken. needless to say my toddler is obsessed with trains, and even more so with your videos. thanks for all that you do.
"that train passes by my house!"
Interessanter Nahverkehr und die dazugehörigen Züge

Your Videos will always make Me Smile. Nice Work.
Thanks Alan!
You're Welcome. I think you deserve a Medal for the best videos that you have on your channel.
I am compiling a video of commuter rail systems in the United States: I have not had a chance to film this system and was wondering if I could use 30 seconds of your footage? I would be more than happy to list your channel as credits under the description once I put out the video
Yes!
good old gaithersburg
Awesomeee
Thanks!
I notice that most of these are on the MARC West line (Union Station west via Silver Spring to WV) and is thus only partially electrified (and non-electrified north of Silver Spring), hence the use of Chargers - which can run either way
The Brunswick Line (West Line as use described it) is owned by CSX, as is the Camden Line. So naturally neither of them have wires over them. Only the Penn Line uses electric locomotives, which are the HHP-8's. The Chargers are straight diesels. Clean diesels, but diesels nonetheless
Nice Video
Sick video
I like your videos :D🚞
Most commuter train lines run mix and match - look at SEPTA (the only other commuter train service I have any experience with). MARC's Penn Line (which runs the southern side of the NEC - and thus is MARC's moneymaker - and I don't sway it because I ride it) does mix and match.
2:58 nice k5la
Another great video
Thanks!
Np!
Got to the yard and station in Fredrick MD
Nice video!
Thanks!
Cool
Some of those trains sound like our Pendolino at high speed (the woosh sound as it goes past the camera)

Hey Mike, would you like to make a video on SC-44 Charger locomotives on Maryland Area Regional Commuter and another ft. ACS-64's on SEPTA?
Nice video
Thanks!
Omg bro! U were at Washington Grove??!?! I always Go There!
Same!
nice video, ☆☆☆, marc, coaster and Amtrak are best :)
Thanks! Yes they are!
MARC by have HHP-8 on service?
great video but these Marc people have no shame putting a non bi level car on a bi level train they are so buetifull with them on
At 6:57 the locomotive has a weird nock in the engine?
Actually, it’s just starting up I just realized. There’s nothing wrong with it.
Can You Create New TrainTalk About CC 203 (GE U20C INKA-GE Made)?
hello I want to know how to pay a trip on the marc train?
coolest youtuber
Id like to ride a marc train someday
ah yes, my closest railway
Nice video. Did you like Maryland?
i live i maryland
Yeah. I do, too!
Because
I saw these trains.
MARC HHP-8 1:36
Can you do CSX trains in Maryland???
what horn does the marc mp36 use
It’s a C5A-CWP horn
Do a train talk about the Acela express
does MARC interchange with NJT and MBTA?
The only other commuter RR they interchange with is VRE. They come close to SEPTA, but not quite.
By chance, was any of this taken on the Brunswick Line in West Virginia?
Yes, all of the trains that weren't running on the Northeast Corridor were on the Brunswick Line.
Cool. I asked because I want to make sure that's the line I'm thinking of when I go there on my spring break. Thanks.
CoasterFan2105 nice video of the marc trains I miss catching them. hope to see more videos of them soon.
What Is The Horn Of The Locomotive Called?
The MP36s horn is called a C5A-CWP horn

They don't have bilevel cab cars?
They Do.
Marc in station
Is MARC even aware that they are using the same rail car brand as New Jersey Transit?
why wouldn't they be?
Your just Tryna give NJT credit ofc they are aware
Why is Marc buying enviromental friendly diesels instead of more electric trains?
There is so many commuter rails that do the same thing you realize, right?
3:36 - 3:57 It sounds like 2 trains

Hey my name is Mark
Where are the MARC GP38H-2'S
They're actually GP39H-2s. They're just quite tough to spot as they are very scarce.
It’s a GP39 but there’s one at 4:46

4:31 Could’ve been perfect if they removed the incorrect sized carriages and took out the 2nd lead or rear locomotive on the other end and move it to the other side
is this faster than amtrak?
Amtrak is faster and makes fewer stops. I think MARC currently tops out somewhere around 90 MPH on this part of the corridor and Amtrak is in the 125 - 135 range, but I may be wrong.
+CoasterFan2105 okay thanks

On the Northeast Corridor (*Penn Line*), it's occupied by both MARC & Amtrak, so the MARC equipment were built to top around 125 MPH - fastest non-Amtrak in the country - to keep within a very, very tight & compact schedule along the corridor. MDoT just recently ordered several Siemens *Charger* -model electric locomotives to phase-out the Bombardiers, as well as, be as technologically advanced with autonomous-like speed-control as the ACS-Sprinters.
Rxr
That train is creepy with its evil light
Yes my favorite commuter train I want to ride it
Your video is excellent! However, you describe that "MARC primarily service between Baltimore and Washington DC." That is not quite accurate. You show videos trains on the Brunswick line explanation about one something between Washington DC and Martinsburg, West Virginia. It is a heavily traveled MARC route. It might be better served to say "Mark serves the entire Washington, DC region." Thank you.
Thank you! I guess that was poor wording. Yes, the Brunswick line is a very important part of the MARC system and it does not serve Baltimore.
Chime
Cant wait till we replace the old cars
They re also supposed to connect with SEPTA by 2020
Never happened sadly
NJ transit double Decker painted in marc seheme
Your just tryna give NJT credit
that's today July 22)
It is weird that he has no name on wekipedia..................
I hate it when it run backwards !!!!!!
azir351978bttm It does not now where are you from?
They run backwards because they dont want diesel fumes in union station
