Thank you Jody for being you through and through. You’re amazing! Also thank you for being such a bright spot in the new snowboard media landscape. Solidified and promoting authenticity. Big Fan!
I loved horgmo’s videos years back 🙌 I never forgot the "being cold is gangsta" clip on TH-cam 😂 I went on a ski trip around 15 years ago & always wanted to do it again I’m now 31 and going to start snowboarding this year..wish me luck people I’m going to fall alot 😎
I can relate to the car accident - slowmo part. Just a straight up crash, still similar sensation! What a great podcast. What a great conversation. You touched all the good subjects. What a calm, collected and honest guy torstein is. Thank you for 3 great hours !!
That was a great episode. Truly therapeutic to listen to and as always, great snowboard content. Perfect mix of past and present. Torstein and Jody, you both inspire me to always strive to be a good person. I thank you both for everything you are doing. Much love.
I loved your flyt series TH. And I loved your vloggie stuff. I also line how you supported Casey Willax. He is as core as it gets and HE has braught alot of folks into snowboarding.
Ive been waiting for this one. Torstein is an absolute legend. Return was an experience, enjoyed every second of it. And I think you put it best Jody, it is immersive. Its a snowboard movie that felt like Chris Nolan filmed ot for Imax, but better.
When torstein talks about being relatable and inspiration. Bring back smaller, less regulated contests. For example King of the hill at spring was way more inspiring than watching x games!
Yo Jody, great episode. Time is speeding up because of relativity as you get older. When you are 5 years old, 1 year is 1/5th of your life so is relatively a long time. When you are 40 years old, 1 year is 1/40th of your life so a much smaller portion relatively. So as you age each year is shorter than the last. Time is speeding up but only to the individual in relation to their age. Think that is probably what you were talking about.
So sick to hear him mention white balance like that. One of the all time greatest videos, soundtracks, everything. Introduced me to hieroglyphics and del that funkee homosapien. Forever grateful for that. Congrats on the success, Jody, from one of your Winnipeg listeners.
Slightly disagree on the YT reviewer criticism… we want relatable people and not pros getting free shit…magazine reviews were halfass and always tainted by pay offs by certain companies… looking at you Transworld and Snowboarder
I really appreciate you chiming in here, and I agree with your point. When someone is being paid by a company to promote a product, the information can sometimes be skewed. My main takeaway, however, is simply to be cautious about the information you choose to trust. It's important to do your research on the person behind the product, especially if they are the one selling it. For instance, I came across a few TH-camrs doing reviews, and based on their choice of vocabulary and the way they described the product, it gave me the impression that someone with only a couple of years of experience was trying to sell a product as if it were the next big thing.
@ thanks. I feel you on gear products that are actually life saving and performance enhancing… we should have legit experience and skill behind the explanations and reviews. Maybe its a niche still needing filled by some “retirees”…
