Shoot me a message in April, and we’ll see where I’m at. It’s hard for me to take anyone out on until my bass tracker’s fixed. The transom needs to be replaced.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher Understand. I can bring my Mako Pro Skiff 17 for us to use. It sits on a trailer at my place so I can take it anywhere. Once the weather warms up I'd love a collab with ya and to learn how to catch these strippers. I grew up in OH doing freshwater, moved to FL for 12 years and got the saltwater thing down, but now that I've been in TN for 5 years I'm ready to hook some of the big fish around here.
1) I noticed you did not use any weight to bring the bait down. But I am guessing you are above 11E where it is all shallow, so no weight needed? 2) I am experimenting with planer boards. Your boards seem to collapse and slide down the line. Mine, I need to fight the planer board and the fish. How do you get them to collapse and slide down the line?
For this particular video I did not use anyway weight. The depth at Best was 15 feet. I launched at Bluff city near the ballfields and travel down river 1 mile and then back up. My particular planer boards Have small clips that release as soon as the fish hits.

Where do you get the trout minnows? So the stripers move up that way this time of year?
The Striper have been there for the last few months. At the end of August they typically move back toward the main part of Boone.

Where did you get the trout minnows? I thought it wasn’t legal to fish with them so I’ve always avoided it lol
You can get them in Hampton or North Carolina. it is legal to fish with trout in Tennessee. just make sure you follow the guidelines.
Good to know, you and I fish a lot of the same spots. I was raised on the Watauga, enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
