@@PaulMalone-hg8mpit’s not that they thought it was too far… it absolutely wasn’t. He was just too free to get 12F when he was 3. The 4yo who fell out of the gates in this race would have won a Gold Cup. I don’t think they did a great job of this preparation. His last race should have been the Arc.

Tom Queally is the most privileged and blessed of men to have ridden, Sir Henry Cecil (RIP) is the most beloved of gentleman to have trained, and His Highness Prince Kalid the most honourable to have owned the greatest of beasts and racehorse of all time that is Frankel.

An absolute bull of a horse with a steel trap mind likely passed on to him by the mighty Galileo and with the speed of a runaway train! And lest we forget how easily all of those incredible physical & mental attributes he possessed came to him during a race. The two Australian mares Black Caviar & Winx were both incredibly gifted horses in their own right. But I've always thought had either ever taken on Frankel that either mare would've been little more than a really good tow into the race for him.
Long live the king! Absolutely stunning looking horse, gaillello produced the best looking horses but Frankel was his crown jewel, he got me into racing and hes still the best i ever seen.
Frankel was a superb racehorse. And quite poignant that it was the BBC's final broadcast of on the flat horse racing and that interview with Sir Henry Cecil.

Back in the days when ''bookmakers took bets'' on horses, lady Cecil also dropped TQ like a hot stone, and not many big yards gave him any decent rides, it's like he was blackballed for some reason.
All the new restrictions has sunk the game, most high street bookies are dead now.

Yeah. Frankel is the greatest I've seen but I feelni can't confidently say he's the greatest because he didn't go further and he didn't take on any of the best in France or USA. The one mile races in England were becoming boring and too easy and I so wish he had tried something out of his immediate comfort zone.
@@Cloughjordan23: Not taking on the best French & American horses wasn't Sir Henry's fault friend, they could've came over & took him on BUT obviously the owners & trainer's decided to swerve that idea because they would've just wasted what money it would cost to bring their horses to England. Remember he embarrassed the best miler around Canford Cliffs & Excelebration won the QE2 easy but he couldn't get Frankel off the bridle.
