At around 1:40 he's talking about how friends has all the archetypes in friends but about how they're still people, but the problem with friends was in the later seasons that each character was a caricature of themselves with no more depth or development

No, because not all comedy set ups equate to Winnie the Pooh. The Simpsons seems to follow "The 8 characters of sit-coms" Homer is the lovable loser/dumb one. Bart is the bastard. Marge is the logical smart one. And Lisa is the materialistic one I guess, but not materialistic for material things like money and objects, materialistic in that she is driven by things she wants like justice, animal rights and so on.
