If you're looking for mounting options for Arnoz boards and are interested let me know. Rebuilding a cabinet I bought with all new guts, play field pivot, etc. Your series has been invaluable. Haven't read all the comments but I expect others have handy mounting approaches as well.

Can’t wait to see all the new content..because of first 50 episodes I made myself a VP cabinet..it is still in progress but you sir made my life much much easier and thank you for that.
Lol....I'm sorry. It's addicting and I wanted to share my vpin addiction with everyone. Lol. Glad I was able to inspire you to build your own! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
Cool! Look forward to this new build! Work has been keeping me busy, i bought, if you remember in group the one sheet of plywood, which ill use for the backbox and back/front of the cab. Then the cab will be bought soon.
Oh no... Emil! You don't understand how much trouble your first series got me into. I'm still replacing monitors I "borrowed" on my first cabinet build.
Pretty sure you just described my exact thoughts for a future (first) build - flat pack, Cleveland software, Arnoz board, etc. So I’m super excited to see your upcoming series. One potential ask/request (and I’m thinking it could be a difficult one if you tackle it) - I’m interested in using actual flipper assemblies in a cabinet, but there’s very little out there with specifics on wiring etc. I know most run at 48v, but I’m curious if you can install on 24v the same as a knocker. Again, I have ZERO experience, but (selfishly) I would LOVE to see you try and tackle that 😊.
Yeah it should be an awesome build! I'm pretty stoked to start this build. I'm planning on using Cleveland Software solenoids kit for the flippers but I might ask Marco Specialties to supply real flipper mechs and a 48v power supply to try them out later. I decided to go solenoids because most people will want a less maintenance and less cost method for real mech sounds. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
Please post something I can’t wait any longer 🥵. Love your previous videos building the virtual pinball machine, it will be my winter project this year 😎. Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration. I don’t think I could’ve done it without you 💪

Awesome news!! I discovered your channel on Friday and finished all 50 episodes of the first build by Saturday night. I’m hooked!!! You should do a collaboration with jays 2 cents for the ultimate vpin pc build. It would be great!
That's super cool! Good on ya for binging my channel! If you deem me worthy, I'd really appreciate it if you could share out my channel on your social media so I can help more people. That's not a bad idea, I should send him a message. Thanks for the watch and welcome to the channel! Cheers!
I loved your first build but even though I have all notifications on thought you weren't posting anymore. So glad I checked manually to come across this. Best news I had in months!! PS great news you have got some sponsors.
Awesome, thanks! You made my day, it's always nice to hear when people are excited to watch my videos! Your only 3 videos behind so no worries, vinyl is going on this week and that's the next video. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
I’m excited to watch the journey. Your video series is the gold standard on how to build a cab from scratch. I’m soon going to embark on this myself but dedicated to VR. While I like flashy lights and everything that goes with a traditional vpin, VR is a completely different experience and I prefer it.
Sweet, thanks! I appreciate your kind words as I work really hard to make the best videos I can for people. I haven't tried VR yet but it's on my list to make minipin for VR....maybe next build. Thanks for the watch, enjoy the series!
VR is super cool but... it's a one-person experience. I want a vpin in my man cave because it's a visual spectacle and multiple people can enjoy it. I have hopes for the future - 4K 3D glasses free 3D display + head tracking. Then your vpin is fully 3D like the real deal, you can see it in 3D from any angle like VR. I would tolerate glasses is there were any modern 3D TVs. I actually did play with this head tracking software some guy made for vpins, it actually is really cool but you really need 3D for it to make sense. If it had more setting adjustments it would work pretty well even in 2D. The playing field floor moves too far in proportion to the other objects in 2D, or you close one eye and it looks great. I reached out to the author long ago and never heard back. I really could enjoy this head tracking in 2D using an xbox kinect2 if I could just adjust that setting. Not as cool as 3D BUT.. still VERY cool. The playfield perspective changes to match where you are looking, sort of like a flat VR experience. It actually looks quasi 3D with one eye closed, but that's annoying to do. I don't understand the science.
Another thing is.. one could totally build a vpin AND mount a VR headset as a pull-down from the ceiling (or use a wireless headset).. so you could actually have BOTH options. VR isn't going to give you the playfield feedback you can get from a VPIN and the transducers, but if you have a hybrid setup that would be the best of both worlds, for now! You could get the virtual physical feedback of a vpin in VR. That might be what I do.
I was amazed to find so many tables that have triggers for a fan, it’s my #2 favorite toy, hope you plan to add one in as a topper or integrate into your dmd panel.
Just in time! Waiting on my flat pack from Virtuapin, he's late - but now that you're launching the high-end with those extra parts, that I'll also have, perfect!
Cool, I've heard good things from Paul's cabinets so it should be worth the wait. Yeah I'm pretty stoked to be using lots of new products and even some top secret ones.... Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
Right? I haven't decided because I'm doing this differently this time, I still have to get my lockdown bar and put the monitor in and see. I think I will still put it down so there is room for a matrix but we'll see. I personally feel that during game play, I don't "see" the area not displayed....too busy hitting my shots! Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
This is exactly what i was hoping you would do! Im going to buy all my gear from cleveland software. Im also going LG c2 oled but with pindmd3 as the newer games i will just have it display the video DMD on the backglass. i love the older tables more as they been recreated the best from VPW. Also what i will do differently than what you did is those lights is very distracting on the play field. My cabinet RGB strips will both be underneath my table. if the table has a color it will show and the effect rails will be underneath as to not flash in my eyes and on the playfield and give more a emmersion than blinding eyes haha. id like my speakers effects activated aswell and maybe clevelands light bar as a topper.
Perfect! Yeah a whole new cab with lots of new info/parts/techniques! Sounds like you have a good plan! Yeah I know some people don't like the LEDs in their face but I kinda like it flashy, you could always put in a switch to shut it off like Zi did or find a different way to light up.....I have ideas. Thanks for the watch!
@@wayofthewrenchThanks! My build is in hold for a while because of my movement to another home. But also cleveland stuff is waiting to build in, and a pixelcade as a dmd at the place of the matrix. The backbox will have a glass over everything else, the b2s, fulldmd, speakers and ledmatrix. Exited to learn from you again because there are not much channels that educate in vpin that good like yours
The monitor I chose is pretty perfect. It's a 42" LG OLED that will tightly fit in a standard cabinet. Based on my first ultra wide vpin, I don't feel that it is that important to get the size perfect, it's still super fun to play and feels amazing. Thanks for the watch! Enjoy the series!
Any thoughts on the graphics card you'll be using for your 4k screen?? I'm in Australia and just picked up a brand new 43"Qled/144 Hz for 485 au dollars, delivered, why does everything in Canada seem so expensive? Thanks for the detail and the time you took explaining in you budget build,it was so helpful. Matt.
I'm going a bit more than what's needed but probably a 4070 or 4070ti. Yeah I don't get it, take any price in the USA and add 50-75%..... it's crazy. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!
Lol, you have to make the next one with her after selling one for the new parts.....problem solved! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel. Enjoy the series!
I am getting into building Batocera gaming systems and just found out you can build virtual pinball machines with this frontend now. any thoughts on buidling a Batocera pinball machine?
It's not on my radar as I'm having fun building and expect to do another pinup popper front end with other programs like Mame or jukebox this time. I know Major Frenchy did a video on it though, if you haven't already seen it. Thanks for the watch!
Ok ,,,um,,rrrrr. 1/4 way through my first build and have been acquiring parts based on your recommendation from your first series build. Would you recommend I just stop and wait for your new series to see what new technologies I can use ? I only have pc and my cabinet built so far. Cheers. Matt.
Hey don't worry, there's absolutely nothing wrong with how I built my budget build, in fact like I stated in the video, I'm keeping my old one to play on. The only thing I'm doing is building another vpin with different parts so that people know how to install these parts. The other thing is this vpin is a big budget so I can have 4k 120 Hz capability. If you already are planning on a 1080p one then you're golden! If you want to use different parts from Arnoz or Cleveland Software then that info is coming. Good luck on your build and thanks for the watch! Enjoy the series!
Congrats on the success, Emil, now having sponsors attached. Gonna be fun following you on another cool build. Looking forward to see you dive into the Arnoz boards. I went with his boards on my own build and have recommended his stuff to a lot of people. Looking forward to hear your take on his new stuff. Happy building :D
Thanks a lot! Yeah it's pretty cool to have such big companies reach out and wanna support the build! Arnoz sent me a ton of stuff to unpack and get figured out....should be awesome! Thanks for the watch!
Me too! Yes sir, I've got a bunch of stuff from Philip including some brand spanking new stuff! You'll have to keep your eyes peeled. Thanks for the watch!
Hi, my friend, i have seen all of your videos about virtual pinball and you are one of the best out there..... I have seen some people to use the elgato steam deck, i just give you an idea for your future project, good luck and i wait for your next video...
Thank you for your kind words! I do try my best to make great content worth watching so it's always nice to hear from subscribers. I'll have to look into that, there's always something new or a different way to do it.... it's why I love this hobby! Thanks for the watch!
Awesome! Seatbelts are fastened and popcorn ready. One question, given the new 4K, does the cabinet need to be wider? Seems the screen sizes are just an inch or two larger than standard Williams cabinet?
Sweet! Don't forget your root beer! 🍻. If you use a lg OLED 42" it is a tight fit in a standard and a loose fit in a widebody. Mines gonna be a widebody so I'll have aleds on the sides much like my other build. I might also try something different..... thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers Scott!
Looking forward to the new series! I'm really curious to see what you use for RGB buttons, as I have yet to find some that I like. Also, am I crazy or did you mention putting in a LEDwiz board on the first machine, and then skip it?
There's a bunch of options but I have MX led boards from Arnoz that I'm going to try. No no, your not losing your mind. I did purchase an ledwiz board and groovy game gear frosted RGB buttons to put into totan so I do have options and might use those in totan after. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series! Cheers!
I could never find a good concaved LED button, ideally either with a leaf switch or a MX Silver switch, but I'll try some from Groovy Game Gear - I had never heard of them and on paper it looks good, so thanks for that! I really enjoy your style of video, so I'm really looking forward to this new series. Since you had previously asked for content suggestions, I have a few to consider: *LED-Wiz - overview, configure/use *Network game management - since you'll have two cabinets, using one machine or a NAS to store all the tables, PUP files, etc. (shared high scores should work?) *Creating your own DOF effects - I know you mentioned the possibility of looking into this, but perhaps not a lot of people would be interested in coding aspect *Setting table POV, applying to all other tables *Jukebox setup - there's been a lot of talk about this one recently, but people are having a hard time finding resources and downloads * Tables you recommend - maybe even just give us one table suggestion per video (I only recently got around to Batman '66 and it is awesome with DOF lighting)
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Super excited about your new build! YOU ROCK! Do you know what the ballpark cost of your new build will be? Why did you go with 42" over 48"? I've been thinking about building one with a 48" OLED but am wondering what the cons would be. I think I will start my build and build along with you, well... I'll run 2-4 videos behind you. =D
Me too! Thanks bud! Well it'll be more than a 1980 Honda Civic and less than a 2024 Honda Civic....lol. not 100% sure as I'm still applying for credit....lol. it's more...the PC alone will most likely be $3000 and the playfield is $1500. I am going with a 42" so I can use a widebody flatpack which will be a loose fit and have room for aled strips and a matrix. I will put a 48" OLED in my totan cabinet later. That would be cool to build along with me, if you do, send me update pics! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel. Enjoy the series!
@@wayofthewrench Hah! Well, 3K for the PC alone? That's probably overkill don't you think? Or is that the point??! Half that would probably still get you 4K 120hz with all the bells and whistles. But.. this is an overkill build, eh?! =D Funnily, I put a 48" OLED in my arcade cab in portrait orientation. 43% of the display is hidden behind the marquee and cab body. Was worth it though. Before I did that, I did test play vpins for a couple of days, just absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous... especially with the more vivid color modes. Especially totan!
Yup a HD matrix is just a denser matrix with more LEDs. These ones are going to be 16 x 16 panels which will also allow me to play with the new HD matrix patterns. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
You're welcome and you're an excellent teacher. I love my vpin and I credit you videos for helping to make it a work of art. I'm looking into my final upgrade now. A 4k 120hz or 144hz monitor. Everything else is already there.
Cheers! I appreciate your kind words as I work hard to teach people how to do stuff including how to look after each other. At the end of the day, I'll be happy if I made others happy. You upgrading to a LG OLED?
To build anticipation....lol. no I have them there while I finish editing and then release them when they are scheduled to be viewable every two weeks. I like to build a buffer for myself as these videos take a lot of work to make them awesome. Thanks again for your support!
Hrmmmm, that's not what I've heard from people running these for over a year. I will be addressing this issue and talking about good methods to have the anti burn in cleaning process happen as automatically as possible. Thanks for the heads up though, it's a real issue. Cheers!
@@wayofthewrench if i'll have a chance to build my full size pincab i will use nanocell full array backlight. I think that the microLED is the future of the screens , but this technology is still to expensive.
That's the thing about technology....it always gets better so it's more how much you can afford. i can't wait to see when the tech catches up and it is exactly like real pinball.
Perfect timing! Just as I'm dipping my toe into the hobby & looking to build my first table

Right? Well I should have the flatpack any day now and then I'll start! Thanks for the watch!
Cool! Look forward to this new build! Work has been keeping me busy, i bought, if you remember in group the one sheet of plywood, which ill use for the backbox and back/front of the cab. Then the cab will be bought soon.
Sweet! Man If you were closer to me, I'd give you a sheet of plywood and get ya going on your cab! Have fun with your build! Cheers!
Oh no... Emil! You don't understand how much trouble your first series got me into. I'm still replacing monitors I "borrowed" on my first cabinet build.
Lol, that's hilarious! Hopefully you "borrowed" 4k monitors.... thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!
Great videos thanks built a great pinball machine. You should look into a Kinect brings it into a different experience
Thanks! Yeah I still need to look into this. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!
I don’t think I could’ve done it without you 💪
I got you begging for more.....lol. It's out now Bruh! Enjoy! If you deem me worthy, I'd really appreciate it if you could share out my channel on your social media so I can help more people. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!
I can not wait.
Fingers crossed.
P.S.:
My pinball machine according to your instructions, almost finished :-)
Me too dude! Oh yeah? You'll have to send me some pics of your vpin on Instagram. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Enjoy the series!
Cheers!
Thanks for the fantastic News👍👍.....I`m already really excited.
Yeah I'm pretty stoked to start on this build too! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!
@@wayofthewrench We have to say ThankYou, that you make it possible to learn from a great teacher....Thanks Bro for enjoying your great lessons
Ahh shuck, thanks dude! It's a lot of work so it is always nice to hear from subscribers. Cheers!
The last series helped me out a lot can’t wait for this one. Thanks for sharing!
Glad I was able to help ya out, this series is going to rock too!
@@wayofthewrench Careful, you might never return after playing in VR ; )
I've heard it's good.
I was amazed to find so many tables that have triggers for a fan, it’s my #2 favorite toy, hope you plan to add one in as a topper or integrate into your dmd panel.
I was thinking about a coin door mod with 3d printed ducting, I'll have to see. Thanks for the watch!
Just in time! Waiting on my flat pack from Virtuapin, he's late - but now that you're launching the high-end with those extra parts, that I'll also have, perfect!
He’s way behind, I’m waiting almost 3months.
Cool, I've heard good things from Paul's cabinets so it should be worth the wait. Yeah I'm pretty stoked to be using lots of new products and even some top secret ones.... Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
@@LoST5757 me too. But this is my 2nd cabinet from him. Great quality!
Nice, well good luck on your next build! Cheers!
So awesome! This time around I hope to build along with you!
Sweet, hope you brought your wallet....lol. enjoy the series! Cheers!
Woo-hoo. Cant wait!
Me too! It's gonna be awesome!
Hell yeah! I’m planning a similar build at the moment with the same company’s products!
Then you're in for a treat! Step by step from start to finish.....our cabinets are gonna be amazing! Thanks for the watch!
Let's goooo!!!
Yeah buddy! Woot woot!
Awesome!!! Will you be mounting the display lower like you did with the original, or will you flush mount it and make use of VPX' POV features?
Heck yeah! I love hearing about your new series!
Yeah buddy! This one's gonna be just as good...maybe even better!
I was hoping for a dedicated VR PinSim next! :)
Well I do want to make a mini vpin for VR.....maybe next, we'll have to see. Thanks for the watch!
Yes! Amazing news!
Thanks Bruh!
Thank you so much, Super exited to watch it!!
Me too! I'm super excited to start this build! Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
Sounds like a cool build! You'll have to send pics when you're done. Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it!
Would be interested to know what size play field monitor gets closest to real pinball their must be a sweet spot
I'm excited for the new journey, man! 😊
Me too....this is the way.
Legend...Im in
oh no...hang on ive got 2, Mrs Clark says NO! ok ill watch anyway
Popcorn is ready.Let's Gooooooooo. :)
Yeah buddy!!!! Let's go!
LOVE !!!!
It's gonna be awesome Arnoz! Thanks again for sponsoring your parts! Cheers!
So excited for this. Hope you use Cleveland design products.
Since you had previously asked for content suggestions, I have a few to consider:
*LED-Wiz - overview, configure/use
*Network game management - since you'll have two cabinets, using one machine or a NAS to store all the tables, PUP files, etc. (shared high scores should work?)
*Creating your own DOF effects - I know you mentioned the possibility of looking into this, but perhaps not a lot of people would be interested in coding aspect
*Setting table POV, applying to all other tables
*Jukebox setup - there's been a lot of talk about this one recently, but people are having a hard time finding resources and downloads
* Tables you recommend - maybe even just give us one table suggestion per video (I only recently got around to Batman '66 and it is awesome with DOF lighting)
Nice suggestions! Yeah there is seriously tons of content to show/teach people.... I'm gonna be making these videos forever....lol.
Funnily, I put a 48" OLED in my arcade cab in portrait orientation. 43% of the display is hidden behind the marquee and cab body. Was worth it though. Before I did that, I did test play vpins for a couple of days, just absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous... especially with the more vivid color modes. Especially totan!
you gotta remember that I live in the land of frozen wasteland (Canada) and that's in Canadian. It's waaaay cheaper in the states.
@@wayofthewrench Ahhhhhh... makes sense!
It's gotta cross that imaginary line ya know....taxes and duty and shipping....oh my
Let's Go! Can't wait to watch this build. Did I here "HD" matrix? I didn't know that was a vpin thing.....
Sweet
Uh huh....sweet!
I finished my refurb of my name cab that I built in 05.
Oh yeah? cool! What theme did you go with?
Woot!
Woot woot!!
Hi Dr J why are the next 3 videos private?
To build anticipation....lol. no I have them there while I finish editing and then release them when they are scheduled to be viewable every two weeks. I like to build a buffer for myself as these videos take a lot of work to make them awesome. Thanks again for your support!
@@wayofthewrench ahh I see, can’t wait.
Well there goes another 2 years of your life ... Down the drain. Bring it on!
Down the drain? Nah, good times were had. If anything I GET to do it again. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
very bad idea to use oled, i have burn-in on my third oled screen already, this technology is completely useless with static picture
