After my 22 years of marriage, I devoted my life to raising my children, 10 and 13 then. I didn't think I could trust anyone with my children's safety and emotional well-being. I raised them all by myself. Now they are grown, well rounded and highly educated young professionals. Did I miss the chance to find a good man? Maybe. But I would do it exactly the same way. In my culture, you don't bring a wolf into your house if you have lambs inside. I don't trust anyone with my children's safety and well-being. I believe in dedication and devotion, not luck.

He’s probably out already. He was convicted in 2008, so that’s almost 14 years. He could have gotten paroled. What a travesty. Can you imagine finding out that the man you married gave you an engagement ring off of the body of his former fiancé whose eyes he was staring into while he was strangling her? Strangling someone isn’t easy. It takes upwards of 4-5 minutes of constant hard pressure. If he stopped at all during that, he’d have to begin again.
His eternity will consist of similar torture if he doesn’t get honest and confess and repent. But, that’s for God to know and decide. To me, he’s a disgusting piece of filth.

I lived with in the mother in law unit of the house when this happened with my ex. We were renting from her parents, and they were renting from my in laws. I helped them setup her son's bed. She was so sweet, a genuine bright person.
He scared me. We stopped to chat on a Wednesday afternoon while I was headed downstairs. After a few minutes he asked if I'd heard or seen anything "strange" the Friday before. When I stated that we hadn't, he casually says "oh, Ellaina went missing Friday, I'm thinking of calling the police." I kinda thought it was weird he'd wait five days, but kinda shrugged off the weird voice in the back of my head, assured him that she would turn up, and started down the stairs. He then called me back as a quick, friendly question asked "how do you turn off the light by the front door?" When I informed him the switch was downstairs in our apartment, he laughed uneasily and said "ohhhh, I was going crazy trying to figure out how to turn it off Friday night!"
Friday... he wanted the lights facing the street off, suddenly, the night she disappeared. He killed her, and I knew it. The detectives knew it. They just needed to prove it.
After being questioned when her body was found, he was suddenly pounding on my door, wild eyed and breathless, demanding to know "what did you tell the cops?!" I told him I knew nothing to tell and he visibly relaxed, chuckled and said "I just wanted to see if there was anything you could add to help."
Even at the trial, when he was being led away in cuffs by two deputies as I waited for the elevator, I still could feel the hate after testifying.
Seeing that little boy, her friends, her family laying flowers and candles a few days later crushed me. It still haunts me.

Remember 16 years in WA state means he will be released at around the 12 yr mark. Since WA doesnt have parole we have good time. Chances are if he is on his best behavior he will be released after 12. Then on probation for the remaining 4 at the very least. NOT justice what so ever for a murder case.....

Ok. Finally he went to jail! But my question is a life only worth 16 years of prison for the murderer, and possibly with good behavior and a good lawyer even less???
Let's not forget she was young, and her child grows up without mother ! On top whenever he is released, he can get married, have children and from his murdered victim not even the bones are left . So actually it isn't a law , but a disgusting joke. Normally he should leave prison in a casket, because now by his release, only a cocktail party is missing!!!!!

We all get along together more than the media would ever want to portray.
