You guys need to be awarded by Subaru a Wilderness version of the Forester and Outback. You will put them to good use in the land down under. Thank you for sharing this awesome experience.

Depressingly AU and NZ (the two countries who seem to do the most offroading in subies...) don't get the wilderness. It's sad.

After having several Jeeps, vids like this make me excited to try similar trails with the 2016 Crosstrek I bought this past March. I already have rally skids, 225/60R17 Falken AT Trails, and a rear 2" receiver that's good for a multi-mount winch. Some traction boards might be good to have too. I may even go for a rear Torq Locker and some siped 215/75R15 MTs, if it seems worth the upgrades. The taller-than-stock ATs didn't affect my stellar MPG as much as I thought they might, so I'm already pleasantly surprised.

@@theburntbanana9875 best reply ever!! 🏆😂🥇 They use to be a decent channel maybe 8-9 years ago. But you’re right, they can’t drive Subarus, those who own them will respond to them and tell them what they are not doing right, then they come out with another video and say we listened to your responses and tried it again. I stopped watching them when they put a Subaru on rollers and complained about the all wheel drive system.

@@martinr8278 Check out the youtuber "Driving Sports TV" who does a lot of offroad testing with Subaru's (and other vehicles). Kind of the opposite of TFL. I can't stand TFL. I've done more offroad with my 04 WRX and 23 Subaru Ascent than TFL has done with any of their subaru "tests". I haven't had any issues....although I did get a 2" lift on my Ascent just last week, so going to do a lot more offroad with it!

Love for you guys, Subies and the Subie community! Grew up with Subies in the 80s (also was my 1st car), an original owner of a built 06 STI and bought my youngest has a 05 Impreza Outback. BUT I have to admit Ill never get the thousands of $$ put into these Subies this way to take em where they dont work and make them a worse street car driver in the process. Alot of poseur factor for sure with 95% of em street queens going for coffee. Subarus work great, snowy streets, fire roads, mild fwd car trails, but theyre not made for real offroad 4x4 stuff (no matter what Subaru sells folks in their ads). You could bash a rental car through there too, but why? Especially new Subies with CVTs. Perspective is throw an old used cheap stock Jeep Wrangler on the trail too with just a rear locker, with stock size tires and watch it crawl easily in 2wd what these "built" Subies struggle on. For a fraction of the cost of buying and building these Subies. Yes I also own a Jeep that I wheel hard. Each his own for sure, but if you really want to do off road, get the right vehicle vs overspending "building" to bash it thru and break stuff. I wouldnt take my Jeep to the track, thats why I have the STI.
But always cool watching folks bash their rides. 👍👍
